a lot of my fav songs he's performed live have a ton of lyric changes in their finalized records. (Much like Angeles and Strung Out Again) The recorded version, he says "but your sun still burns my eye, oh why oh why?" giving off a painful undertone to the lyric/question, as if the relationship ended badly, but he still wants her around regardless, but it's totally her decision/he knows that's not in his control, hence the lax, neutral yet hopeful tone of the lyrics

@@alsharpe yeah. I did. And BoT is my favorite Dylan Record precisely. He did it after badly breaking up with Sara his wife so he was full with pain and anger we can definitely hear on those bloody tracks. Is an awesome record. To me probably the best Dylan Era, far enough from his folkie-protester years, and also far enough from his crazy religious fanatic times that would came in the 80s later.

I think I prefer this final lyric over the “main” version. “Your sun is still in my sky” is so pretty. Could even work with the original “oh why” if you play this song dejected about a lost love you can’t get over

His voice, so little and soft every time he speaks at these live shows just breaks my heart. Its such a small voice. With so much powerful talent inside it. And I'm not just saying "he's softly spoken," I'm saying that he's practically hiding... something about it, it doesn't sound sad, so much as...vulnerable? I'm not sure exactly, but it cuts to the quick and feels very genuine. Like you wouldn't expect bullshit or bravado from that voice. I just love losing myself here, 2-4 minutes at a time, following the music. Brief reprieve from depression, through sadness...
