Don't know about underappreciated. When I started playing guitar I had bought a magazine that did a top 100 guitarists and Adam was like nr.10 and at the time didn't know who he was, looked him up and the rest is history.

I feel sorry for you.... First you have to wait for them to show up to your area....then you pay how much for tickets????? THEN......they show up and ONLY play EIGHT songs...wow There are bands out there like Pearl Jam who play for almost 3 hours Why cant they play for 2 or more hours? They are still my fav band.,,,,,but that is BULLSHIT
@toolcover34277 жыл бұрын
Toolmybass I feel sorry for if you think 30 euros is too much for a band like Tool... Music is not a national sport , 45min , 1h, or 5h whatever. If you can't capture the magic of this band in 1 hour this is maybe because you're not a huge hardcore fan.

Doesn't matter, saw Tool.

''Flood'' has always been one of their best songs on the first record and it has a very Alice in Chains influence in the introductive part, and then it develops in a sort of prog-rock heavy metal theme. In this concert they have started to develop the Carey/Chancellor rhytm war machine more than before. I mean, in Lateralus there was a lot of Justin leading on the sound and the riffs, but here the rhytm section is more defined, more noisy, more intense than ever. I love this version of Tool. Been addicted on the first periods, on the first year since i have discovered them, so this is an absolute surprise to understand their evolution. The thing i can perceive is a very disilllusioned Maynard, very quiet and concentrated on his singing. Suppose this was the 10,000 DAYS tour, isn't it? So it was a deep spiritual searching period for him. This album is much more heavier than the others in some ways.

it's cool when you can be sitting here almost 30 years later, listening to this in the background, and still get the chills on the transition to the spiral.

I saw a list a few weeks ago of every Tool song ranked, and was miffed at how far down the list Rosetta Stoned was. After seeing how well they performed it here...I am convinced it is in their top five.

I condemn any list ranking anything about Tool or its members.. ive seen a list ranking 'Triad' as well.. one of their worst songs... Triad is one of the greatest fucking rock songs ever... the live performances around the release of Lateralus is some of the greatest musicianship I've ever heard! Oh yeah. Rosetta Stoned is easily up there...

The variance at 1:19 (Adam ends a bar with a chord on stage vs. no chord in the studio version) is sick.

In some parts, it's almost as if the person recording knows exactly when to focus on Danny and Justin, and then proceeds to not do that. But, alas, it's all right - I know it's not easy to simultaneously record and fully take in the awesomeness that is Tool.
