I'm an OLD metalhead, and seeing you two react to music I've listened to since it started, brings joy to my soul and helps me remember! THANK YOU for that. It's a gift. Do more Tool. Pick one... Tool is so good that they JUST released their first album in 13 years, and it went straight to #1 on the charts. Tool just last month released their catalog on streaming media, and it went to #1 in all the stats. To best enjoy Tool, do what you do to get right and happy, then just random play on whatever Tool playlist you find.

@@DTSQUAD - this song references Arizona Bay which does not exist. The theory following that eventually California will crack off at the San Andrea's fault line and slide into the ocean, leaving Arizona as beachfront property. The mother part is "Mother Earth" cleansing itself of all of the bullshit that is human beings....👌

One of my newfound joys has become watching people who have never listened to Tool react to their sound. Tool is a band like no other. Instead of pushing out an album every year or 2 to keep them on the front of people's minds, they create musical masterpieces and release albums only when they are perfect. That's how Tool can drop off the face of the earth for 13 years only to come back with an album that removed Ms. Swift from her coveted #1 spot. I would like to suggest H, 46 and 2, and Eulogy for early Tool. Fear Inoculum is their new album, so the title track and Pneuma are good places to start (and are the first 2 tracks).

The best is when you watch the people's faces listening to Tools song, "Enimeia'" at the part of the song when they keep repeatedly singing, "Learn to Swim! Learn to Swim! Learn to Swim!" And then suddenly Maynard starts singing over the, "Learn to Swim's!" LoL best part of that song! Epic!

well the song can be misleading in some ways. For instance I used to think the song was very negative and angry, but then I realized that part of it is tongue and cheek and the emphasis of the song is to let go of things that dont matter and pay more attention to things that aren't material. "don't just call me pessimist, try and read between the lines"

This is what a “reaction” is suppose to be like. Most channels have heard it before or seen it before and trying to fool everyone thinking they haven’t. I also see these two becoming Rock and Metal fans in the future if they keep exposing themselves to more great music. They do not have a gimmick or a theme and pull off raw reactions. Great work y’all. -N.O.L.A.

D&T SQUAD I agree! To do a little background on where the band or group is from or a little about what type of music it is, in my opinion is ok. Sometimes I like it when they know about that part but to dissect the song before it even is watched or heard is pointless cause you given the reaction to what someone has already written and thinks about the song. To do background on the band is ok but not the entire song. I’m a fan, y’all keep up the great videos. Tell ya boy, I like it when he gets into the music, especially coming from a rock/metal background. I dig that raw reaction and can feel the beats and lyrics behind whatever you may feel about the sound in metal or rock there is always, always a message of some sort. Id like to request, if you don’t mind song. If you haven’t done it yet, Tool “Sober”. The official video is trippy and really good and goes with the song in a way but you can also look up the lyrical video so y’all can see the words to it clearly. It is a really good song and video. I’m about to turn all my friends who watch reactions to y’all. Thanks again.

Pretty cool reaction. Huge TooL fan, always interested in seeing folks "outside the Spiral" take them in and see what they make of it. For my part, I'm trying to explore rap/hip-hop for a better understanding of the genre. Other than old shit ( Public Enemy, NWA, old Dre and Snoop circa 1990-1995) I know nothing. I have preconceived notions of rap, and I want them challenged, and ultimately, hopefully broken. Music is a universal language, and through it, I believe we can learn about and better understand the cultures within our societies that cultivate the people we share our only home with. There is a path to empathy and respect through the powerfully expressive and meaningful experience of music. TooL, among others, is not a casual experience. They do not require anything from the listener, but rather beckons you to look deeper. Deeper within your self. The lyrics, while meaningful, are not the point. Imagine being hypnotized by a therapist. The words, " you're feeling relaxed, your breathe is slowing, calm. Calm and relaxed, as you feel yourself falling deeper and deeper into..." The hypnotists words are not "important", but rather serve as a guide to draw you into a state of mind where the actual work is done...inside your own mind. Reflecting upon your own memories, thoughts, emotions. TooL (again, among others) is less of a loudspeaker broadcasting "stuff" at you, and more of a mirror. The music itself sets the stage, the mood, the lyrics simply guide you into a specific direction. From there... Spiral Out.

This sort of lyrical expression is *so* healthy: if we don't purge negative and destructive thoughts like this, they'll give us cancer-which is what Maynard means by "Don't just call me pessmist, try and read between the lines!" He is aware that blind positivity becomes terminal optimism and recognizing what is broken is a necessary condition of truth

@@yakgelder I didn't see a distinction from politician to politician as good or bad to be honest. Of course I actually had the album when it came out so I dont know who else may have or have just heard it from all the new buzz from the new drop. Either way it's a great song even abstractly attaching visions in the listeners heads. Saw them twice in concert and insanely good both times. Once after Lateralus and again after 10000 days. this song is Maynard James Keenan (the lead singer of the band) his take on all the materialistic, self absorbed, corrupt, and void of any real soul people that exist now a days. Mainly in L.A. area but not just the L.A. area, in the world in general. he mentions Arizona Bay because if California falls into the ocean as a result of a major earthquake Arizona would be on the coast as a result. thats why he is screaming learn to swim over and over. Maynard is a VERY deep guy and ALL of Tools lyrics have a very DEEP meaning. the lines where he is saying fret for your car and fret for your hairpiece ect ect he is talking about all the stupid shit people worry about now a days, that all this stupid shit people worry about is just a 3 ring circus side show that distracts people from the things that truly matter

SINCE you found my "reply" JUDITH by A PERFECT CIRCLE followed IMMEDIATELY by 10,000 days (or wings for marie part 1+2) 1+2... will explain the last 30 years of "tool" and " a perfect circle" at least in some kinda way since Run DMC

Great reaction! i always love seeing people react to tool. Tool music is in their own category so you can expect a journey each time from them lol.... just as a suggestion if you keep doing their songs just make sure you do Jimmy(Tool), Judith (A Perfect Circle his other band) then wings for marie 1 and 2.(Tool)..in that order...they are the only songs in their catalog that tell a timeline..Jimmy tells the story of when he was 11 and his mom was sick and ended up suddenly in a wheel chair and his thoughts...judith is his feelings toward god and how his mom is devout. wings 1 and 2 are after she died.. she lived about 10,000 days after that event...which is the name of their previous album. :) sorry so long lol

They have official music videos, which I love, but they can be a bit much for new fans. The lyric videos are the way to go if your starting to get into them, then afterwards I would check out the official ones. Glad you guys are checking them out, they make great music.

Update 2021 (this song is from early 90’s): people that produce any result in our lives formerly in Cali are flocking to… anywhere else. They are like so many canadian geese flying south for winter. You know… the racist places condemned by history books.

It’s about humanity in general and how people worry and get wrapped up in pointless stupid shit like driving nice cars, clothes, watches, shoes, what clubs you’re in, what gangs you are in, your accomplishments, your careers, your wants, your needs etc etc he’s saying it’s so pointless that he just wishes the world would end and reset because people are too stupid to exist and don’t deserve to be here.

And that song was written and released in 1996 so when he says fuck your short memories and the person who put that unofficial fan video together showed George Bush it was because he was president at the time. But that is not an official tool video if you want an official video watch “sober” and do a reaction to that lol it’s a little easier to follow
