RE: "Never heard it live," you probably know this, but they played it during their 2016 tour as their opening song. I can't say how amazing, awesome, and energizing it was to experience that. Thanks for the lesson, I never even knew I wanted to play this song.

Honestly. On this one, when I typed "how to play tool no quarter" into the search field, I wasn't expecting to find any results at all. I thought to myself "No man, there's just no way that AOC did a howto on that song, it's not even Tool's own song". And here I am. Amazed as always. Thank you very much!!!

What I like about this tutorial is it inspires you to perform it how YOU hear it. Just like Greg, I take his examples and play to my ear just as he did. For example I prefer to play the slide up power chords C>D in the chorus down on the 3rd to 5th frets and for my ear I prefer to hit the single note C>D and THEN play the power chord D but that's just me. And THAT is the message I got from Greg's comments before the lesson started. For me I like to let open strings ring on this one. Thanks, Greg! Great lesson!

Greg, first off you are the man! Second, I want to comment on your notes you throw out here. You state that you play the song not necessarily identical to Adam Jones and I want to thank you for stating that fact. If you go back and watch live performances of no quarter you can see Adam Jones doesn't play it identically to the studio version. I actually think it's better to try other variations which I think gives life to a guitar piece in any song. I don't play the song 100% identical to how Jones or you play it... I put a lot of my own spin on it and I think it sounds pretty damn good! People all too often forget the reason they got into playing and you highlight such an important part of playing any kind of music.... making it your own. I absolutely love your approach and technical expertise but what i admire most is the soul behind what drives you to play. It is clearly evident in all of your videos!! Keep the vids coming! Maybe you can do a video on Descending or the extended versions of opiate, stinkfist or maybe the Salival version of Pushit some day.

I didn't see your tabs on your site for this one but when I get high speed internet back I can probably pick them up visually watching. I use these videos with a boss js-10 and put riffs on loops till i get them down. Can change speeds and such easily. Works pretty well. You play the riffs pretty close to original sounds. Job well done on this one again! Thanks for the help. Rock on! Happy to pledge for someone with so many insights to Jones' sound.:)

@jay hegz there are studio musicians whom play for record companies. most records made since the 50's, its one of those guys, not your favorite artist. an example is jimmy page from led zeppelin. just the singer is on the record typically, and given autotune, barely the singer. look up a lady named carol kaye, she has played on thousands of records, not the stars you see. sad really.

When I do the pull off part of the main riff, the strings that I pull off of keep ringing and it doesn't sound very good (the low D, A and high D strings). How do you play the pull of part so well? Is there any way you can go into more detail? Thank you in advance. Take care.

G|*-5/7-7-7-7--5/7-7-7-7--5/7-7/5---------------------------------------------------*| D|*-5/7-7-7-7--5/7-7-7-7--5/7-7/5---------5-5-5/3-------------------3p0-------| A|--3/5-5-5-5--3/5-5-5-5--3/5-5/3----------5-5-5/3----3---0-3p0---------0--| E|---------------------------------------------------1/3--3-3-3/1---1-------------------------| Might be wrong but I think he's playing like this.
