So many of their contemporaries, Rage Against the Machine, Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, Rollins, etc, have broken up, died, quit music. The 90’s bands that are still together, like Pearl Jam, make albums that are a dim echo of their early greatness. Tool, on the other hand, had never really even stopped touring for long before COVID, and their new songs make folks go as batshit crazy as their old ones. May they live forever.

@@adroaldocouto431 To clarify, I still love Pearl Jam and I honestly have nothing but love for any band from that time that still gets up and plays. A few years ago I saw Helmet and Filter and it was great. We’ve lost so many of that era’s great ones that I have come to deeply appreciate and hold tightly the ones that have made it through.

@adroaldocouto4312 жыл бұрын
@Fakename70, that does go on their favour right? You'd prefer shitty albuns every 2/3 years like most bands? Besides, Maynard has APC and Puscifer as well... go check their latest albuns and see if they suck btw... It took me more than 2 years to give a rest to FI in all honesty... thing hit me like a truck, still think that descending is their masterpiece even though it may not be their "swan song and epilogue"...

My thing is, I can't stand recording if it's intrusive to any other concert goer's, but I have severe memory issues and can't remember anything for the life of me, so being able to have (at least fragments) memories that I can rewatch is very meaningful to me. I can't tell you how many different shows I've been to, and I can remember maybe one flash from most of em. So I have started recording more because of this, but I'll be damned if I'm one of those shits in the way of someone's good time!

I've done that same thing before, it's something about the half time and filling out the ride cymbals but still hitting the hits, either way it's weird to see the fucking master of the universe screw something relatively simple up LOL. He does the same screwup on the official live version actually. I was watching this hopeful that he's tidied it up and nope hahah.

I saw their show in Anaheim at the Honda Center last night (1/18/22) and I'll be the first to admit that I'm just a casual Tool fan, but they didn't play any of their hits. WHY!?! People came to hear the MTV hits, including me. Would it have killed them to play one of their hit songs? And their "no-filming-at-our-concert" policy was a total put off. They had security guards flashing bright lights into people's faces anytime someone tried to capture a memento with their device. It was totally disgraceful. I get it; they want people to take in and enjoy the atmosphere of their show without mobile distractions but nothing is more distracting and screws up the mood more than overzealous security guards constantly flashing bright lights into an audience of people that paid upwards of $400 each for their seat's while you are playing new and lesser known material. Gimme a break! It's too bad because they're terrific musicians and it really was a great show. Just wish they had played some of their hits and allowed people to film. To me, they ARE what they claim to hate: A BUNCH OF OVERBLOWN ROCK STARS! Just like Axel Rose. The Mastodon gig I went to was way better, and they only charged $60 bucks. Won't be seeing TOOL again
@jeremyeyles7352 жыл бұрын
They played The Pot, The Grudge, and Hooker With A Penis (all hits), plus a collection of the best songs off of the new album...I'd say that's pretty close to a phenomenal setlist. Idk why you paid 400 bucks to see them play songs you've heard millions of times and ONLY songs you've heard them play millions of times. Also, it's a pretty straightforward policy, don't pull out your phone unless it's the last song on the set.
