Imagine paying a presumably large sum of money to see Tool play for a couple of hours, they're playing "The Grudge" right there in front of you... LIVE...(they aren't going to play it again that night) and you are walking around not watching.....

There is always the fan that is so excited for the show and bought 4 tickets for themselves and a few of their friends, trying to bring people into their world and experience something amazing, and those friends are often the people you see walking off to get beers, lol

no one's going to talk about how Danny literally nailed the final drum part. Like nailed. 100% accurate to the studio version. Everyone's focused on how a 60 year old dude can't scream for 26 seconds anymore.

I think the overall vibe over maynards voice is one of thanfulness. after two bouts of covid, he understands now that its ok to sing higher as your base voice position, and us tool fans know he lost his pipes at the very latest in 2009. hes sounded the best he has since 2006, arguably. More to the point, Danny has always been a titan and continues to be a marvel to besight.
@andrewp6122 жыл бұрын
I timed maynard's scream, it was 10 seconds. I sought this video for the sole purpose of timing the scream. The studio scream was 25 seconds, but that's hard to do outside of the studio with the prep and multiple tries.
@DiamondD19922 жыл бұрын
I remember holding my breath before the scream, didn’t expect him to pull it off but he goes over chugs a good bit of water and at this point I’m like “oh shit he’s going for it” . They fucking brought it this tour

Carey making the absulute craziest beats look simplistic. His posture on the stool and all is unreal. Maynard was realling feeeling in this gig. I was lucky enough to see them in Perth Western Australia on Valentines day of all days 2 weeks before this Covid shit started. I basically said to myself that this was a once in a lifetime gig as it had been over a decade since they had been in perth and I dont know if they will ever come back but Maynard did say at the end of the gig" we will see you soon" FIngers crossed they come again because if they do I'm going to follow them across australia going to all the concerts. They are truly a masterpiece of a band that none other can compare to their complexity. Up the TooL army

I'll never forget the intense, overwhelming, exited, anxiety that flooded through my veins & throughout my body, just before inserting, my newly bought C.D. The Tool album - Lateralus in 2001. I had waited since 1997, when I first got into Tool for them to release a new album. I was so in love with Tools previous albums - Opiate Undertow and /-€nima. But this was different it was the first album of there's that I had to wait for with anticipated expectation. I was nervous stupidly, in case it didn't grow on me or if I felt disappointed by what they created. I was driving to the Gold coast from Brisbane in Queensland Australia. The Grudge started to play. The volume was up loud & it sounded f****** amazing. I was now screaming and shouting with pleasure at the top of my lungs. The nervous energy that was trapped in my body was instantly released with joyful love and gratitude. it was one of the happiest moments of my life so excited so intense so in love with Tool. and they keep on producing and they keep on doing it time and time again they are the best band in the world at the moment. Nirvana and Midnight Oil up there for me as well.

I firmly believe TOOL belongs in the same conversation as Beethoven and other greats from history. When a hundred years go by, this music will be studied and dissected. Currently, music is in a very poor state. Makes me wonder, after the old guard is retired, what will sprout up next? Either way, it's been a great 30 years.
