Another good ammo haul, especially that Gold Dot ammo. 👍 41 Mag has always been a do-want for me. 👍 I got in on both of those Vortex scope deals a while back; the FDE Opmod 1x-6x from OpticsPlant and the black 1x-8x from PSA. Didn't really notice a difference in focus between 6x and 8x but then that could just be me. Luv the illuminated reticles. 👍

That .41 Mag should make for some interesting testing. I'd be interested in the chrono numbers even on the HSM stuff. When Elmer Keith and Bill Jordan were designing the .41 Magnum, one of the things they were looking to do was give police something that had more oomph than .38 Special and better terminal ballistics than the .357 magnum (JHP ammo wasn't as common in the early 1960s as it is now). The police load for .41 Magnum was supposed to be a 200-grain semi-wadcutter with a muzzle velocity of about 900 feet per second. That's about 360 energy foot pounds at the muzzle. Remington had other ideas and decided that they would make the "light police load" a 210-grain bullet moving about 1150feet per second. That's 617 energy foot pounds at the muzzle, which is definitely nothing to sneeze at. Of course, the police decided that this was "overpowered" and just stuck with their .38 Special revolvers for another 20+ years. HSM's website says that their .41 Magnum Cowboy Action load is rated to make 969 feet per second at the muzzle for 438 energy foot pounds. That might even be interesting to see in the gel.

Underwood of course makes some good ones for the 41. I stocked up on the 210gr xtp and some of the 230gr and 265gr hard flat nose loads also the 180g Barnes XPB load is the lighter favorite. I got a 5.5in bbl Ruger Blackhawk Bisley stainless, its an awesome 3lb chunk of steel lol . Been wanting a model 57 forever.

funny you should mention Outdoor Limited, as i've ordered tons of ammo on there, ranging from 9mm to .460 Magnum, with some shotgun rounds mixed in there. And because I normally have purchased my ammo on there in Bulk quantities (at least with 9mm), it saves a good amount of money in the long run, especially when factoring in the Free Shipping when placing an order of $200 or more of cartridges.

Nice new tool. That Smith is gorgeous. What a great deal on those 40 S&W Gold Dots. I pulled the trigger on a Taurus 327. Got a good deal on it. Now I need to find ammo for it. I'm like you, I hate buying ammo online. The shipping is outrageous, everywhere. Find a good price and then the shipping kills it. 55gr 5.56 is still 9.99 for a box of 20. 9mm FMJs running 14.99 for a box of 50. White box JHPs in 9mm and 40 S&W are priced pretty good. I'm getting 158gr 357 HTP SJHP for $22 a box at a local pawn shop. Stocking up and putting up. I want to get another full size 9mm but can't decide what I want. Great video Sir!! If you can, try HSM’s bear loads in.41, and the Vortex in .41 Mag. My.41 likes the Vortex better as far as accuracy over the XTP. I feel the.41 is highly underrated. I respect the .41, but it’s like the 16 gauge shotgun. Nothing wrong with it but no real reason for it either. 44 magnum and a 12 gauge gets you more selection at less expense. Of course, with your collection you have all the bases covered…so enjoy!👊

I do not have a great place, with a good selection, that is local to me.🤷‍♂ So I kinda have to buy online, or at least some online. But my brother told me about SGAmmo,👍 and the great thing about them, they let you mix and match ammo to get to the free shipping threshold of $200.00, and frankly it isn't hard to get there either.🙄 And they have never taken more than week to deliver.
