Again, sorry for the late upload guys. Today I will be going over what I think are the Best Ammo Types for the player to use in Fallout 4's Revamped Survival Mode Difficulty. These ammo types get you a the most shots at the highest damage possible!

A thing I noticed you did not address with the Fusion cores for Gatling laser is that the perks regarding Fusion cores from repair bobble head and Nuclear Physicist actually still apply making a fusion core last double, although it does not show it in the Gatling lasers capacity once you use all of the 500 that core will still be at 50% charge just from rank 2 of Nuclear Physicist effectively doubling its worth per pound.

Like I said with Nuclear Physicist maxed you get 50% so anything less like just first rank you'd get 33% plus with repair bobblehead.

Caveats: Gauss rifle ammo might be less efficient than indicated because although the damage numbers stack up, Overkill means that a sizable proportion of this damage may be wasted. 10mm ammo and other low-damage ammo may be less efficient due to a somewhat larger proportion of that damage being absorbed by damage resistance. Plasma ammo is applied against two separate damage resistance checks: Still an awesome damage type though.

In my survival playthrough, which I'm currently about 43 levels into, I was lucky enough to have an Explosive 10mm pistol drop really early on, I'm carrying 3 weapons, the other two are a two-shot combat shotgun and a plasma rifle.

I would have liked a plasma counterpart to the Gatling laser. Perhaps the p-94 that was in other fallout games. It was a pre-war weapon, after all, and given the commonwealth's superior technology, the Winchester p-94 plasma caster should have been in the game.

nice video , but i like to consider how often you find certain type amno and how many you could buy from vendors , for exaple : i deal more damage with .308 but i use .45 because are more common

IMO: the Service Rifle mod gives you the best weapon for survival. It can use the 5mm and deal over 100 dmg per shot.

I think to make the most out of your carry weight, you might want to skip out on fully upgrading your weapon to the max. That being said, I prefer using light long barrels and a standard small mag for better weight efficiency because it's only a bit of range to sacrifice and reloading is quick enough to be negligible. It's just the small mods that are redundant and only make your experience even heavier, you need to carry as much ammunition and other essential resources like food as you can.

Fusion Cores as ammo gets pretty ridiculous when paired with the Repair Bobblehead and Nuclear Physicist. The effects of the bobblehead and perk carry over to the Gatling Laser, which allows for one Fusion Core to fuel up to 1100 shots, pushing its shots/weight up to 0.0036 and 275 rounds per weight. This, in turn, creates a damage per pound of 3850 - 18,425 damage, provided Nuclear Physicist and the Repair Bobblehead are taken.

Lets not forget that nuclear physicist also increases the damage on Gamma guns. Get Final Judgement and Lorenzo's Artifact as back up.

Heat to break it to you after 2 years but you still only get 500 shots even with nuclear physicist and the repair bobblehead. BUT, when you shoot all those 500 shots and reload, your old core remains with 54% charge in your inventory for use in power armor and once youre done you can also sell it.

So for survival mode, (and assuming max rank in the related perk), which is the better projectile weapon type to focus on - pistols or rifles? It seems that rifles are a lot heavier for the damage, and the pistol perk increases their range and gives a chance to disarm, while the rifle perk just adds armor penetration, (useless against unarmored enemies, however).

+biostemm I'd go on a hunch and say pistols. 5 of the 10 ammo types on this list are compatible with pistols, even though .308 is better with Rifleman. My character is using rifles, but that's more of a personal preference thing.

So what early game weapons would be best, as things like a .308 rifle takes either a high level character or running into a high level area, and laser and plasma guns ammo and upgrades take quite a lot of time to be able to get

To an extent it depends on your first few perk allocations. For instance the double barrel with a sawed off and calibrated mod can one shot the death claw with a crit if you invest in crit damage. Also can one shot swan with a crit with powerful calibrated receiver and sawed off barrel. The double barrel when modded for max crit damage does more crit damage then it's usually superior alternative the combat shotgun because of the sawed off barrel. So if you are doing a crit build go with the double barrel.

On the topic of super mutants and radiation, I would have liked to see sort of tribal super mutant societies in the glowing sea. They could be somewhat more intelligent, so that they don't attack you on sight and may even be considered allies, and do stuff like hunting Deathclaws for meat. Maybe they'd even have tribal weapons, like super mutant sized bows and spears made from Deathclaw leather, bones, and tendons, as well as salvaged metal. Missed opportunity on Bethesda's part. Ah well, maybe in the next game.

plasma pistol with the flamer barrel is a fun room sweeper that doesn't require the big guns perk gunslinger gives 50% longer range and disarms opponents

+Jack Patchett A lot of the good weapons from Normal mode are still good in Survival. Some like the mini-nuke aren't because of the weight of the ammo though. Your Gauss Rifles, Deliverer, Plasma Rifle, Laser Rifles, Explosive Minigun are still good. We'll see about best Weapon for survival mode video.

I like fusion cells, good ammo/weight but most laser weapons also weigh less than 8 so you can carry a lot of damage on you. Plasma is similar but more expensive and rarer to find.

That wouldn't really work because when you change weapons you might become over encumbered because the ammo returns too it's original wight. Also that effect would be useless for people who don't play survival mode.

The fusion cores are questionable now if you insist on using power armour then only use half of your fusion core supply that way if your running low on cores then go back and pick up some more

This is a good and informative video, but I don't think you took into account the rarity of the ammo types. For example, while Gamma Rounds or 2mm rounds are really useful, they are not as common as other ammo types, and are very costly at various vendors. The only way I see these ammo types as being viable is if you take fortune finder perk early on, and later just buy the ammo you need. Due to the decreased carry weight, you cannot carry all your ammo with you at all times. So it is vital that you can scavenge the ammo you need on the go. No offense to you PumaGaming, this is just my opinion :)

You should always round down when talking about the bullets because lets say a bullet is exactly 36.9999 bullets per weight unit. It should be 36 bullets/weight unit since you can only shoot 1 whole bullet from a gun, no matter how close a partial bullet is to a whole bullet.

Yeah but this is by survival standards where ammo weight matters, as well as how common it is. Also Bethesda is retarded, this could be an AK inspired gun shooting 7.62x51mm. I only say that because where are the remnants of a nuked island outside of post-war Boston getting .30 Soviet? The original receiver Combat Rifle shoots .45 pistol rounds, .308 combat rifles do more than .50 cal bolt action snipers, and pretty much all rifles are left handed now for some sinister reason. Fallout has stopped making any semblance of sense since Bethesda took over.
