I honestly reckon that SLR Merc deserved a higher spot. For what it was at the time, it competed with the Carrera GT and Enzo while still being a luxurious grand tourer. It’s a very underrated but amazing car.

Not first Although, it really feels like the 00s we're a transitional period for the worse for cars. Crash safety regs stepped up, a lot of the bigger name exotics were bought by large conglomerates and lost their charm, electronics became much more intrusive into cars, and emissions regulations and gas mileage requirements became much more strict.

Ryukachoo I feel that emissions, mileage, and safety are practical for everyday use, commutes, etc. But I agree that it feels like there's been a halt in ridiculous cars, due to those things. Nobody's making wild over the top supercars, pushing the boundaries of what we already have with our improved technology. Nobody's innovating power and speed for shits and giggles anymore, and that kinda sucks.

The Ford GT should really get its own Up to Speed :) As long as it includes the legendary Ford GT40, that is. The 2005 GT was basically a 40th anniversary homage to the original GT40, while the 2017 GT is sorta its own thing.
