Minus this year (so far), 2019, and 2018~, the game was getting *at least* a "major" update each year, let alone community updates (stopped due to certain issues), and other smaller updates. Hopefully after HL:A releases, the devs are able to get back to working on the next update, but well, It's Valve. But even if nothing comes from Valve for a while, the community has done a shit ton in terms of self-made updates/content.

The moment I knew I loved breath of the Wild was when I was going into the desert for the first and was severely under equipped. I kept losing hearts from it being too hot but didn’t know what to do. I remember trying to find any place where I could stop and figure out a plan and just took a shot in the dark and ran towards some ruins that were casting a shadow on the ground. When I stood in the shadow I stopped losing hearts. It was after this that I realized you were never fighting the game, that it would always work exactly how you wanted it to.

A link to the past shocked everyone at launch. Ocarina of time and majoras mask shocked everyone. Twilight princess and the wind waker shocked everyone and now botw and botw 2 absolutely shocked everyone. Zelda is by far the highest quality video game franchise and is what got me into gaming.

Yeah. Botw 2 doesn't still hasn't given us much information about the game, so that kinda sucks. But the best game was majoras mask, I just loved all the sidequests and masks, although I do think you should've been able to buy masks from the Happy Mask Salesmen.

Considering the current state of the game and universe, we don't have a lot to be happy about except being recognized by the gaming community for what it once was. Despite its wallowing in "obscurity" it still remains a champion of many design philosophies that helped make it once of the best shooters of its era.

Overall one of the most balanced games (even with some weapon issues), large map variety (even if it does spread out players, or have dead modes/maps), large player customization in both play style and cosmetic look, custom servers, moderate learning curve, pretty high skill ceiling for things like rocket jumping, etc. Not many games that have released recently have been able to meet and exceed what TF2 has done, while not dying (in terms of content/players) in the first few months or years of release. OW arguably was close, but has (Imo) been heavily mishandled in terms of balance and actually being open to community creativity (Custom servers are lack luster, and the workshop is still pretty limiting due to no map editing, features, etc.) We don't talk about Battleborn...

my favorite moment in breath of the wild was when i found the dragon up on the mountain covered in malice, i don't remember the name haha. i remember looking out over everything and seeing something weird up there and going across like half the map just to check it out and i was so surprised by it. like I'd never heard anything about this the game had never hinted at it or had an npc mention it or anything. no other game has ever made me walk for 15 minutes because i saw something kinda weird on a mountain.
