If Lorkhan or any god, dead or alive can take the form of a mortal, that is cool, and you must consider said mortals' actions in your ranking! Isnt the Player at some point an incarnation of him or something? Also couldnt help thinking: isnt it strange that you have Xarxes in here at all, when he got where he is and what he has from Hermaeus Mora, a DAEDRA. Daedra, defined by their separation from Aetherius. How could a Daedra ascend a mortal to Aetherius??? If anything he should be some guy who won a pocket realm of Oblivion for beating Hermie Mora's game. Or is he just a god because he is worshipped as such? Ive seen most of your videos, am i missing something?

Talos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise! We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars! But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you." Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! We are the children of man! Talos is the true god of man! Ascended from flesh, to rule the realm of spirit! The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth! Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? What then? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives? And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people! So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine! For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever! Terrible and powerful Talos! We, your unworthy servants, give praise! For only through your grace and benevolence may we truly reach enlightenment! And deserve our praise you do, for we are one! Ere you ascended and the Eight became Nine, you walked among us, great Talos, not as god, but as man! Trust in me, Whiterun! Trust in the words of Heimskr! For I am the chosen of Talos! The aedra gave up there the vast majority of their power in order to create the world. They are now bound by the rules of mundus where death is real. The daedra hold all their power and manifest aspirations of themselves in the mundus but are much weaker as they too are bound by its rules. So him being dead, is definitely plausible. The aedra themselves are more or less dormant and relying on prayer for strength.

I think the biggest mistake you're making about Akatosh is the fact that he represents the mystic beginning, middle, and end of each cycle. Very much based on the Indian/Hindu mythology version. There is the creator ,Auriel, the preserver in Akatosh, and the destroyer Alduin. Each is the same being over all, but each has its aspect in each cycle. That over all besides the fact that he is the being of time and without him none of the other gods would have existed. None of the other gods realize themselves without him. I think over all he is definitely the number one God.

@@conallomahoney9311 Alduin says he's the first born of Akatosh, so it implies that it is indeed in the order of Auriel, then Akatosh, then Alduin, and remember, Alduin didn't do his job when he was supposed too. I don't think you can really argue that Lorkhan is boring or passive. He was born from Chaos or the Void. He created the entire world through trickery and seduction. He created humanity and led their primordial spirits in a cosmic war against the elves, then got his heart ripped out on top of a giant magic tower. His heart won't even die though. The gods throw it away, but it makes a volcano around itself. His corpse becomes two moons, his soul builds a realm of feasting, drinking, and battle for the Nords. The implication is that he is gathering warriors for some Ragnarök type of battle against the elven deities at the end of time, which is pretty mysterious and cool. While dead he still manages to send Shezarrines, avatars of his will that protect humanity in times of crisis. One of these avatars is Pelinal Whitestrake, a possible time traveling cyborg crusader with a ruby for a heart and a lust for killing elves. Even when he is passive, he's cool. His Heart can create living gods out of mortals, destroy whole races, or animate piles of volcanic ash and rock into the crude approximation of a man (Dragonborn DLC). His relationships to the other deities and even mortals is always very interesting. He wars against Auriel and the elves. Boethia punished Trinimac partly for speaking against Lorkhan, which creates orcs. Kyne or Khenarthi weeps when he dies, and rain is created. Namira either corrupted his heart or made a deal with him at the dawn of time. The ancient Khajit said that he died in the arms of Azura. The corruption in his heart became the Moon beast, Boethia wears his death shroud, and his "true spirit" is out there somewhere. Briarhearts rip their hearts out of their chests in a ritual dedicated to him. There is just so much going on here, it's hard to say he's boring amongst the gods.

Akatosh/Aka-Tusk/Alduin/Alkhosh/Ruptga/Auriel/Auri-el and Lorkhan/Shor/Shezzar/Sep are my favorite dirties in the elder scrolls due to the dichotomies they share along with both their antagonism and also friendship in some cases and the chaotic nature both share. For example, with the Time God's many interpretations and personalities and with Lorkhan's padomaic nature. Also with some Shezzarine were also blessed by the time god in a form, with Aka bestowing the dragonblood in some cases like with Hjalti and Wulfharth, or possibly with the Dovahkiin being both Shezzarine and obviously having Dragonblood with the Greybeards explicitly saying you are essentially serving Akatosh. Another example would be with Pelinal being a possible Shezzarine and also being blessed by Aka, calling out their shared madness and also considering the theory of him being from the future meaning the forces that brought him to the time of Alessia being forces of Time and Space, Aka and Lorkhan.

Oddly enough, I usually play a Nord, even in Oblivion, but I tend to favor Arkay. I feel that Arkay is the god who makes sure souls move on to where they need to go. In Skyrim, I carry extra Amulets of Arkay that I place on various bodies that I find. For example, the lighthouse that the Falmor have broken into, I always leave an amulet with the bodies of the mom, son, & daughter. (I think those are the only bodies, right? I can't remember if we find the son. The whole event stands out for me though, I can't forget the first time I found that lighthouse.) I don't know if it would be appropriate to leave amulets with orcs, but I don't recall finding many orc bodies, but I would still leave one. I assume that Arkay would help the soul move on to Malacath. Same idea for Khajiit & Argonians. I do not leave amulets with necromancers. As a matter of fact, I soul-trap any necros I find alive! Nor do I leave them with Falmer, animals, trolls, etc.

@@abiwonkenabi7027 Right. I get the impression that in any contest of knowledge, Xarxes would come a poor third after Hermaeus Mora and Jyggalag (whose library, before being burned, was said to contain a prediction of every detail of the world and of every action that would ever take place on Mundus or Oblivion before they happened). Dibella > Xarxes, definitely.

If you go by Khajiit lore, the moons are their own entities, Jone and Jode. But I recall reading or hearing in Morrowind (the game) that the elves believe the moons are Lorkhan's body.

Magnus was my number one, mostly because he's the top guy of the Magna-Ge, and the Magna-Ge are my number one for the list of "things I wish would get more screen time in the games than they do, and would get covered in more depth". Lorcan was my number 2, because even if you do discount stuff other people did with his remains as not really being his doing, he *still* did more, and had a bigger impact on the setting, than all the others combined. How the hell did ebonarm and xarxes even make the top 20, let alone the top 10?

Drew is my goddamn HERO lol! I knew from the start that my weird, anti-mainstream opinions would be represented well enough thanks to Drew 😂 Also, I love Scott making sure that Mara gets her dues. She should’ve easily earned her spot, because she’s present in like every single pantheon across time, but Scott made sure she did. Rock on, bro 🤘 hahaha I really wish someone stood up for my main man, Zenithar though. I’d have cut Ebonarm for Zenithar. Aedra are barely seen on Tamriel, but Zenithar has appeared multiple times. He appeared to the Nerevarine in Morrowind as Jon Hawker, a poor Redguard trader who was being held captive by a Dunmer battlemage, who led a band of smugglers hiding out in the Nammu cave. If you went out of your way and helped Jon escape by offering him a Scroll of Divine Intervention, only _then_ would you be rewarded with artifacts belonging to Zenithar, along with the knowledge that you just met an avatar of one of the Nine Divines. He leaves the Nerevarine two of his Aedric artifacts, Zenithar’s Warning (a left glove) and Zenithar’s Wiles (a right glove). Oh yeah, and in Oblivion’s Knights of the Nine DLC, Zenithar is inextricably linked to Kynareth, who *did* get a nod on this list lol. One of the ghosts of the original Knights of the Nine, Sir Ralvas, will tell you this: "Of the original divines, Zenithar is thought to be the most in touch with the mortal realm. Some legends say that Zenithar has close ties to Kynareth, an idea that is supported by the manner in which the two gods' realms interact. Craftsmen devoted to Zenithar are able to create and profit from the materials provided by Kynareth's natural world. The two work in harmony -- the natural world providing for the craftsmen. One cannot revere Zenithar without acknowledging the power of Kynareth." But you know, I’m not upset or anything that Zenny-boy didn’t make it. Us Zenithar worshippers are still gonna live with the satisfaction that we’re living honest lives, while all you heathens dance around in the muck of sin 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I realize that this is not entirely what this video is about, but if memory serves you've touched upon the afterlife of various races before. The other day I came to think about the afterlife of the Dunmer. Where would they actually go? These days (as in post Skyrim), I reckon they'd go to whichever of the Reclamations that they might feel the closest to, since (as far as i know), they do not share a common realm for their worshippers to go to. But what about when they worshipped the Tribunal? What happened to the souls of the departed Dunmer back then, seeing as how Almsivi where not Gods in the traditional sense, but had rather usurped the powers of a long dead one, but where worshipped in much the same way that the Aedra and the Daedra are worshipped then and today. Just a little something to think about, which might be a fun thing to tackle at some point!!
