every one of these KZbin videos that have even a small bit of BBC content always treads a very narrow line of being deleted or muted. And it's not like they warn you. You just log on some morning and find out that the BBC told KZbin to nuke your video or kill all the sound. One way around that is to have only the tiniest amount of original content, and talk the rest of the time. It is unfortunate, that's for sure.

I agree that Capaldi's Doctor is a good one, and that he is good, if not great, at speechifying. I also like this particular speech, as a whole. Still, it contains one moment of massive evil and stupidity that makes one gape in amazement at the moral ignorance of the Left. The BBC present the Doctor as saying that kindness is more important than moral rightness and decency. Say what?!!!! Setting aside decency as the concept which, of the two, is the more easily misunderstood, let us focus on moral rightness. If one understands morality at all, then he knows that what is morally right is what one should do. Therefore, for kindness to be more important that moral rightness, there must be occasions when the kind thing to do is different from, and rightly preferable to, what one should do. Thus, the BBC are having the Doctor claim that, at times, what one should do is to avoid doing what he should do. What arrant foolishness and ignorance! Yet the deprecation of morality is characteristic of the Left, since they promote moral relativism, as well as a number of behaviours which have been known to be immoral throughout human history. Doing what is right, which is basically the same thing as what is loving, often involves harsh corrective action (‘tough love’) against behaviours of which the Left approves, or which they at least countenance.

Here's hoping Jodie gets some equally amazing speeches!

Who writes the speech is the writer of the episode. It's why there are so much of 11th and 12th in the very very best ones ! Just because Moffat wrote them !... I really hope I'll still like "Doctor Who" in 2018 and after. But one thing I'm sure of : You will soon see all the people who'll miss Moffat. Because, he sure had his bad days too, but he reached a hell of a high level of quality, since 2010, that will be hard to keep !... Capaldi was a rather 'difficult' doctor to understand for young children, but an incredible actor and Doctor; and I'm very sure that he'll stay for a long long time in their hearts; growing with them, claming his peaceful speeches... And Matt Smith will forever be the youngest and most 'baddass' of them all, with the best 'Arcs' of series and companions; with the 'girl who waited' and the 'raggedy man', Amy & Rory, River Song & the 'Pater Notra Gang' !! So... Time will say, like always...

Peter Capaldi's one of my least favourite Doctors. I don't think he was worthy of being the Doctor at all in Season 8. If anything, he should have been the Valeyard or at least Michael Jayston should have been in Season 8 to emphasise what a sociopathic shitbag Capaldi was. Season 8 was carried almost entirely by Clara and Capaldi still needed her in Season 9 because I would have turned my back on Doctor Who much sooner if Jenna Coleman hadn't decided to stay. However, I'll give credit were credit's due. The Doctor finally returned in The Zygon Inversion. To bad he was 21 episodes late.

There's an old Earth saying, Captain. A phrase of great power and wisdom and consolation to the soul in times of need. Addams: What's that then? The Doctor: [shouts] Allons-y!

You absolutely nailed your #1 pick. Season 9 was peak of Peter's run, and my reason for saying season 9 is the best one of the revival

Going back to David Tenant, the episode he ran from the family trying to take his power. He tricked and trapped them all forever. The reason he was running, was because he was kind. When Peter (12th) said that he did what he did because he is kind... I cried and my heart throbbed.

If you ever get round to do a classic who edition of this list it should include: "Do I have the right?" Genesis of the Daleks "Small beautiful events" Earthshock "The Oldest civilization" the Ultimate Foe "Every great decision creates ripples" Remembrance of the Daleks "Our lives are different to everybody elses" Tomb of the Cybermen "Courage isn't a matter of not being frightened" Planet of the Daleks "never more a butterfly" The Two Doctors "All these evils" The War Games "There are worlds out their" Survival "One Day" The Dalek Invasion of Earth

@thegentleassassin6 жыл бұрын
agreed. if it was only put on the list to satisfy the tennant fans, then there are a lot of better speeches they could've chosen instead, like his "I could've done so much more" outburst in the end of time, either one of the gallifrey speeches from gridlock and drums, or even that little speech he did in voyage of the damned that's used a lot in fan-trailers

The "I Have Seen Things" speech will always be my favourite speech by The Doctor. It's so powerful and full of emotion, it really shows that even though Eleven is a young and silly Doctor, there's still a very old Timelord trapped inside that body with a mind full of haunting memories. This speech alone puts the Rings of Akhaten in my top 5 favourite Doctor Who episodes of all time.

These would be my top 10: 10: "That's What Defines a Species" from "Thin Ice" by the 12th Doctor 9: "You are Unique in the Universe" from "The Rings of Akhaten" by the 11th Doctor 8: "When The Doctor Was Me" from "The Night of The Doctor" by the 11th Doctor 7: "I do What I do Because it's Right" from "The Doctor Falls" by the 12th Doctor 6: "Basically, Run" from "The Eleventh Hour" by the 11th Doctor 5: "I! AM! TALKING!" from "The Pandorica Opens" by the 11th Doctor 4: "Time Lord Victorious" from "The Water's of Mars" by the 10th Doctor 3: "Cancel the Detention" from "The Day of The Doctor" by the 10th, 11th, and War Doctors 2: "I Have Lived a Long Life" from "The Rings of Akhaten" by the 11th Doctor Honorable Mentions (in no particular order): - "Colonel Run Away" from "A Good Man Goes to War" by the 11th Doctor - "I Could Have Done So Much More" from "The End of Time" by the 10th Doctor - "It Means Life" from "The Pilot" by the 12th Doctor - "You'e Read the Stories, You Know Who I Am" from "Face the Raven" by the 12th Doctor - "Listen Up Doctor" from "The Doctor Falls" by the 12th Doctor 1: "A Scale Model" from "The Zygon Inversion" by the 12th Doctor

Um....I'm sorry. I figured this list was about Doctor Who as a whole...and yet all we saw was modern era speeches. You even showed one of the most memorable speeches in the history of the show during your intro. And YET...not a single classic era speech makes it in. "Do I have the right?" - 4th Doctor "Indomitable" - 4th Doctor "Corrupt" - 6th Doctor "No More Tears" - 1st Doctor "Our Lives are Different" - 2nd Doctor I mean, don't get me wrong, some damn good choices on this list. Modern Who definitely has some amazing memorable speeches for its Doctors. But to leave out the older ones? Such a shame.
@AlexisFloofer6 жыл бұрын
It says specifically at 0:39 that this list is exclusively for modern who. They heavily implied that they are planning a classic who counterpart for this video.

its kinda insulting they don't include any classic who speeches, it had legendary writers such as Douglas Adams and Robert Holmes at its helm. not to mention a lot of the new who speeches are quite lofty and too long, only supported by the blaring music.

Tom bakers big one from genesis of the Dale's isn't there. That's criminal Dr who existed before 2005. Some truly epic speeches that deserve a proper acknowledgement here. Colin Baker delivers some absolutely blistering ones in trial of a time lord, the Seventh doctor spectacularly delivers one in remembrance of the daleks. And I don't even need to mention some of his other ones.
@tjlane40306 жыл бұрын
I like the speech in series 5 at the end of the first part of the weeping angel episodes (I forget the name) but it ends with "if you value your existence then there is someone you never put in a trap" "and what's that sir" "ME!" And then it plays the theme tune. Such an epic moment

Doctor Who Fanatic not really, Ecclestone's run wasn't very good compared to Tennant's run. Many people have said that they didn't fully appreciate the show until Tennant came along.
@alammoyan6 жыл бұрын
Luke Rose ok thats your opinion. im just saying it was unfair for Mr. Eccelston.
@nychthemeral6 жыл бұрын
Luke Rose if it wasn't for Eccleston, Tennant wouldn't have had a chance at being the Doctor. Without him, the revival wouldn't have happened. Even if you don't like the 9th Doctor, there is always some appreciation for him
@rhysspeight71426 жыл бұрын
Luke Rose, but series 1 was arguably the best RTD season, at least the most consistent. Tennant had some brilliant episodes in 3 and 4, but series 2 is pretty much garbage.

Rings of Akhaten used to be my favourite, but my god Peter Capaldi absolutely knocked it out of the park with the Zygon Inversion speech, I've watched that clip countless times and it still makes me absolutely sob, because not only can you sense the pain in 12's voice, but it's so relevant to real life as well.
