Another great year, for me: 1972! Bunch of these tunes picked in this episode, I have in classic forms of 45s, LPs, and, cassettes. Almost all of these tunes bring to me constant memories of the gal I dated in '72 - J.E.L. She was fabulous! Some of these "selected choices" from our narrator were, to me, on my large list of my 1973 favorites. My "All-time Favorite" of 1972: "Rocket Man" by Elton John (MCA Records) though there are a few other not mentioned hit tunes that are among my favorites of that year due to that "gal I left behind"... (actually, she left me, behind) - J.E.L.

I didn't notice any resemblance, at the time, of Horse With no Name to Heart of Gold. Listening to them close together, there are a couple of vocal and instrumental similarities, but I think the vocal part is coincidental, similar voices, and there are always some instrumental similarities. Besides, America had many hits that sounded nothing like Neal Young's or anybody else's music.
