I Agree with everything he said except training the same muscle twice a week or even worse 3 times a week, maybe he ignores that muscle doesn't grow in the Gym it grows while we rest and this doesnt only mean during sleep, the muscle needs to rest 48 to 72 hours to let the muscle fully recover and grow, rest should be one of the best advices to achieve muscle growth, if someone can train every muscle more than once a week that means they are not training hard enough, more doesn't mean better it slows down muscle growth by overtraining which is the definition of training too long and too often. Here's a recap of his points: #1: Doing too much intense cardio. #2: Fasting/skipping meals, going too long without food. Eat 4 to 5 times per day optimally. #3: Drinking/partying regularly, do both in moderation. #4: Neglecting sleep or avoiding sleep aids. #5: Holding back in the gym, workouts lacking in intensity and effort. #6: Doing bro-splits and only training each body part once per week. Train each body part 2 to 3 times per week. #7: Cutting/losing weight too fast, resulting in lots of muscle loss. #8: Bulking with far more calories than you need and gaining excessive fat, keep your bulks moderate. #9: Missing/skipping supplements, not doing proper supplementation. #10: Ego lifting

Good points and great information. I'm fairly new to this Gym-stuff, started to go to a gym this summer after years of working out at home, and it's terrifying how misinformed many are that I see at the gym. I do my mistakes, but I try to keep up with info and technique, and I see so many people that either doesn't care, or haven't seen a gym before. I've seen people instructing their kids to do workouts that is proven "ineffective", and/or can hurt them in the long run. Silent everyday guy as I am, I never intervene in this craziness, but I am so thankful that there are people out there like you, Greg, who patiently keep on instructing others how to work out properly and safely. Kudos.

Very Informative. I'm a senior, health problems, finally over post COVID Encephalitis...I am ok now and MUST gain muscle & strength. Even though your video's are focused for men, they are helping me immensely.

Every time I open one of his older videos I think, "Are we gonna have yelling Greg or talking Greg?" lol

i'm trying to distance myself from the PR things, I was going to the gym, doing 5 sets, 3-4 reps on a few exercises, I got a bit stronger but not optimal. I began upping my reps to 6, pause benching, always loved calisthenics, doing them weighted, I can feel it after a few days, I'm more sore than I was before, and I am no longer scared of dropping the bar on myself while benching and ohp-ing, or snapping my back doing 130 kgs deadlifts for 1 rep (yes, it's not a lot, but for me it is).I started stretching and doing my karate drills again, it's more fun. I love all this advice, I really need to be more disciplined

Coach Greg, if you ever run out of content ideas, you could always try venturing into other areas every once in awhile. Like ranting about movies or TV shows. Coz let's be real; a lot of us find you entertaining in anything you rant about lol.

I bulked like crazy but no junk food. I didn’t force feed. I stopped eating when I was full. I put of lots of muscle with a minimal amount of fat. I’m happy with the results

Coach, since you have a master degree in kinesiology can you make a video about chronic injuries/pains for example sternum pain. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 you rock!

When greg talks about being the cardio champion and a weight lifting champion at the same time, it reminded me of the runner events in the CrossFit Games. Everyone was struggling with the run.

I truly enjoy your videos they are both entertaining and informative, l am 68 years old and attend the gym three times a week, two if the sessions are leg training with my personal trainer, l have always been into sports ever since l was young and it has laid off because l have great flexibility with l feel stronger than most younger men, keep the videos coming, you are an inspiration to us all, thank you . 🇬🇧👍

So Im a year late to this one, but its my favorite Coach Greg video. Why, because its 20 minutes of nearly solid, quality, useable advice. No fluff, no click-baity, drama-centric, gimmicky crap. More please!
