I love how "Waitress" had a realistic ending. While it WOULD have been nice to see Jenna and Dr. Pottamer end up together, it's for the best that they split up, since he's already married, and she wants to give her daughter Lulu the best possible life.

I really liked how "Love and Other Drugs" tackled someone dealing with their Parkinsons diagnosis and being scared to be open to a relationship.

Hey what about Hitch? This underrated Rom-com goes through a topic about how both men and women should interact with each other when they pursue romantic relationships in general.
@andrewjones5752 жыл бұрын
Underrated? It isn't funny, doesn't give useful advice about getting action, the acting is poor as is the script.

Pretty Woman is more unbelievable than most romcoms. Edward wouldn't spend a great deal of time, money & effort classing up a streetwalker. He'd hire a high-class call girl.

It was really hard watching the scene in pretty woman when Phillip tries to assault vivian
@christineparis56072 жыл бұрын
You aren't kidding! I still can't see it without feeling sick. Like too many women, I was assaulted at a young age, and it's a sickening, lingering feeling that you never get over. Mostly feeling like you're somehow at fault, or were too stupid to see the danger. I was just young and trusting. I would think that a Hollywood prostitute like Vivian wouldn't be too surprised to get unwanted attention, but I still thought it was incredibly realistic when she is upset at not being prepared for nasty behavior because of her situation. That hit home. I'm 61, and still have some pretty awful memories, but have managed to turn it into a strong feeling of wanting to help others who have suffered from the same situation. I have understanding and empathy I never would have had, so I've been able to empower myself and others, and hopefully, help some folks. We can't forget that many men have also suffered from unwanted sexual predators as well, and rarely get acknowledged or taken as seriously as they should be. Everyone deserves the right to use their bodies as they wish, and never be forced into ANYTHING that makes them uncomfortable.

SLP certainly isn't a romcom & I don't know why many people describe it as such. It's less than 5% comedy & there's not much romance in it. It's primarily an unhappy drama. Why does it have a gambling subplot that isn't in the novel it's based on? Jennifer Lawrence was far too young to play her role. She was in her early 20s, playing a widow who has a great deal of life experience who is clearly written as being a couple of decades older than that. It's unusual in the Western world for a person in their early 20s to have married & very rare for them to be widowed. That year's Best Actress Oscar should have gone to Naomi Watts for her performance in The Impossible.

Why is Crazy Rich Asians usually described as a comedy? It's less than 10% comedy. If that's a comedy, so is Die Hard.
