Andrew Jeffery he was a good character in the first 3 seasons (and Krusty Towers, despite being season 4, was also very good) then as the series went on he became flat with only one joke (that he likes money).

10 - She’s almost as bad as MY sister, TBH. 9 - He’s actually an okay character in my and many other’s opinion. 8 - I can agree, that joke of his entire character loving money is kinda taken too far. 7 - Do ThE bRaInY! dO tHe BrAiNy! 6 - I actually really like Johnny, but I never see anyone who likes the show unironically and can actually speak English. Besides Nicktendo, but I don’t really know if he likes it himself. 5 - Wow. People made someone like that? 4 - Imagine the fanfiction. 3 - I only like Peter because of the memes made of him. 2 - I hate to admit, but when I was younger I loved the Annoying Orange.. At least that game where you toss the supporting cast into blenders was kinda fun. 1 - Making a crude and offensive show into an adult show is understandable, but why would you want to do it THAT horribly? WHY?!

Idk, good villains have that "love to hate" quality, like a lot of classic Disney villains. Other villains can be annoying, eye-roll inducing, and just not fun to watch to the point they weigh down the show/movie they're in.

Making a bad character doesn't mean they can't be well rounded. Doesn't mean i agree with every character on this list but good writing creates sympathy for the villain. İt also makes their cruelty have more of an impact. Bojack does this excellently in the episode where we see the horrors Bojack mother had to endure as a child. İt doesn't make what she did okay but we get a good look at what made her such a monster.

Scrappy Doo himself is not a bad character. The problem with Scrappy was the fact that they tried to make him the main character of the show, when he was just meant to be a side character. Scrappy actually saved the show from dying, as him being a new reoccurring character pulled viewers back in. It was just poor execution.

Season 2 he could also be described as that too, even though he had more episodes that showed him as just plain mean and selfish. It was season 3 onwards where he was just a massive prick

Apparently in other countries, Scrappy-Doo was actually liked. From what I've heard it was because his voice was less esr-grating and a lot cuter, making him less annoying and seem more like a puppy who's both way too confident in his fighting abilities, and way too confident in his cowardly uncle.

Plus, there are still plenty of episodes (see Sweet Stench of Success for an example) where it is shown that they still really care for each other, so if you think Mac is at fault for imagining Bloo this way, or you see Bloo as the primary villain of the series...you don't understand Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends at all. @@buffmordecai1498 Yeah, with the exception of season one of the Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show, very few of the Scooby Doo cartoons from 1979 to 1989 used the original series' formula, let alone had any main characters besides Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy (and Daphne on occasion), and apart from that, the stories from that era were mainly mediocre. Apart from that though, I think the other reason why Scrappy is so widely hated is that he is mainly seen as an unnecessary edition to the show, besides being Scooby's polar opposite.

14:24 In the episode “Arthur’s Big Hit”, DW broke Arthur’s model plane despite being told not to touch it which caused Arthur to go apesh*t and punch her. And despite it was DW who did the wrong thing here, Arthur’s parents grounded ARTHUR for punching his little sister but they didn’t give DW any form of punishment when she actually broke Arthur’s model plane without listening to him that she should not touch it.

DW didn't mean to break the plane, her problem was not showing remorse Still violence wasn't the answer so of course the focus was on arthur The parents even said that they will deal with what DW did and they did just that otherwise DW wouldn't have apologized in the end which she did after arthur apologized for punching her. Luckily even though both siblings messed up in the beginning, they both said their apologies in the end so the episode "Arthur big hit" isn't so infamous at least in the ending and lets not forget that binky in the end defounded the Tough customers way of violence.

I hated Dee Dee from Dexter's Laboratory. Never before had I felt so much hatred for a character I was supposed to like. Dee Dee was presented as innocent and carefree, but the way she constantly ruined Dexter's life without the tiniest bit of remorse when he never did anything to her made her come across as a cruel psychopath who reveled in Dexter's misery. Before the Squidward torture porn, there was the Dexter torture porn. Dee Dee was so awful, she drove me away from what was otherwise a very clever and funny show.

I would have also put Arthurs parents in the Dishonorable Mentions solely for the episode where Arthur hits D.W. after she breaks one of his prized possessions. Arthur gets punished, D. W. doesn't. I actually used to like Brian from Family Guy but in the early years. In early Family Guy he was much more level-headed and smart, and in an ironic twist acted more human than the rest of the characters themselves... NOW THOUGH, he is a giant prick who is full of himself and is just as shallow as the rest of the characters! I left watching family guy when the show was still good. When I came back it was just a pile of filth, and everything clever about it had been tainted. Especially Brian. He used to be my favorite character, but now I can't stand him. Some thoughts for your choices: 1. John Kricfalusi, a/k/a John K. , a Canadian animator, created Ren Hoek, and he's just as bad in real life as Ren is. He was accused of grooming two underaged female animators in 2018. I used to admire him as a brilliant animator, but now I think he's a creep. 2. Star Butterfly could be put on a future list, as it turns out in the final episode of her series (titled "Cleaved") she's committed genocide against a whole army of magical creatures just so she could be with Marco forever. She even broke up Marco from his first true love, Jackie Lynn Thomas. 3. As for Steven Universe, Jasper & the Diamonds could be considered unsympathetic. Jasper is a creature of pure war & cruelty who took a very long time to be tamed. It wasn't enough for just Garnet to defeat her, it took a final showdown with Steven to do that in the 20-episode epilogue "Steven Universe Future." Even Steven was going through a unsympathetic phase (some would call it teen aged angst or puberty) in that 20 episode series, becoming a huge pink monster who could barely control his teenaged rage. 4. 'Arthur" was cancelled last year, finally. It took an episode of pro-gay rights concept of Mr. Ratburn getting married to another male that sent shock waves through bigoted right-wingers and then a pro-Black Lives Matter episode that came after that before the ax finally fell after 21years on the air. 5. As far as I remember , I recall seeing Scrappy Doo on ABC's TV line-up of Saturday morning cartoons back in 1979, and don't personally remember anything particularly annoying about him; he was just another addition to the cast that actually saved the show's failing ratings. The hatred for Scrappy really began with the live action movie in 2000.

I think that Patrick wasn't always nice. There are hints to him being a bit of a jerk in earlier seasons. For example, there is a scene in season one (I believe that it was the episode where nematodes drank SpongeBob's house) Patrick comes out of his rock and says something along the lines of "Is it time to bother squidward already?". SpongeBob, on the other hand, is shown to bother squidward unintentionally, even telling Patrick in certain episodes that squidward wants to be left alone and that they shouldn't go to him. The thing that made Patrick worse in later season imo, was that he stopped caring for SB. While Patrick generally bothered anyone else, he was still supportive of his best friend, which was even shown in the first episode when he encourages SB to get his dream job at the Krusty Krab. He just sort of stopped doing that and now he's more of just a playmate to SB than an actual friend who will help SB when he needs it. I still like the later seasons, I still find them a whole lot more entertaining than other modern cartoons, but it's definitely different than the earlier seasons.

Honestly what ticked me off about how the main cast of SpongeBob was changed after Hillenburg left for awhile is they took away some of the things that made them likeable and either reduced them to one sided stereotypes or made them as intolerable as possible. There used to be more to Krabs than just being cheap, he gave SpongeBob good advice which was why it was funny to see the outcome after SpongeBob and Patrick deliberately disobeyed him. Annoying characters can be entertaining but that’s usually because they’re depicted as having no awareness that they are causing another character pain or grief in some way or the character that is being annoyed has done something to deserve it in the particular episode. This was why I hated Little Yellow Book because despite SpongeBob doing nothing to annoy Squidward, he still embarrassed SpongeBob publicly and suffered barely any ramifications other than being locked up which he himself says was worth it. Also it doesn’t help matters that everyone except SpongeBob are inconsiderate hypocrites in that episode.

One of the writers of "Spongebob" when the characters turned into jerks was Richard Purcell, who used to work on "Ren & Stimpy" with John K., who created Ren. I presume Mr. Purcell took some of the "Ren & Stimpy" gross out style to "Spongebob" with him when he joined the series. Also writing on the staff during that period when Stephen Hillenburg left the show was Zeus Cervis & Casey Alexander. They are all accused of writing the bad episodes of "Spongebob."

Like I mentioned, if it’s not broken then don’t try to fix it. In the first three seasons, almost every character in the show was tolerable at worst and hilarious at best. People used to enjoy the abuse that Squidward went through because of karma or SpongeBob and Patrick being completely oblivious to the situation. Even Krabs(who has never been a favorite of mine) was somewhat relatable in a way because in those seasons he at least acted like he cared about SpongeBob’s well-being. I’m not saying that character changes are a bad thing. It’s called character development. However you should usually keep whatever people find enjoyable or relatable about the characters and add onto it, not take it away.

In the defense of Mr. Krabs, even though he's always been greedy, he has shown his kind-hearted moments. He sent home Spongebob to recover without a second thought after he realized Spongebob had the Suds, and he couldn't fire his own daughter from the Krusty Krab. Sure, he considered firing her because he was losing money, but even the greed in his heart couldn't make him fire his own daughter. He even passed out after Spongebob fired her. As most fans would say, I blame Season 4 onward.
