My list of the top 12 worst episodes of The Powerpuff Girls. I apologize for the poor quality; this was my first time doing a video of this sort, so I didn't have much experience at this point. And these are just my opinions, so please be nice!

Schoolhouse Rocked actually hits a little too close to home for me, because Ms. Keane's "It's just as bad that you fought back" mentality is one that many teachers do adopt in the classroom. On the bright side though, it did inspire a fanfiction where the parents of the children who were hurt in the dodgeball game _do_ chew her out for this.

I liked Buttercup in the original series, but not the reboot. Poor Buttercup. As if making her weaker wasn't enough, they had to make her an irredeemable asshat. Of course she still has her kind moments but they only pop up when she really screwed up, and even then, she goes right back to the jerkish self she was before.

Joe Segal Yeah, I hate that they did that to her character. In "Painbow," for example, she's completely disrespectful to Ms. Keane, and she trips a boy on the way out of class (where the animation error that everyone points out occurs).

Bubbles is a hypocrite in "Cover Up", making fun of Buttercup for her blanket despite also having an inanimate emotional crutch, Octi.

Joe Segal That's one of things that made me so mad about this episode. Everyone gets mad when Buttercup pokes fun at Bubbles for having Octi, but apparently it's okay when Bubbles does it to Buttercup. Perhaps some people think that Bubbles's cute personality makes it more acceptable for her to do so, but it doesn't. It really doesn't.

Bubbles gets away with EVERYTHING bad she does in "Bubblevicious" and "Neighbor Hood". I don't want Bubbles to be punished like Buttercup did in "Moral Decay", but still. The least they could do was have Bubbles be scolded just a little in "Bubblevicious".

As someone who grew up with comfort items (including my baby blanket that i still have and sleep with), I never liked cover up and always thought it was strange that Buttercup got her blanket taken away but then Bubbles gets to keep her Octi, and the way Buttercup was treated in this episode has left a bad taste in my mouth. Also even thought Bubbles was (and still is) one of my favorite characters, I do think she should've faced consiquenses for her actions, I don't like it when the character or person gets away with doing harmful things just because they're "cute and precious". Honestly Buttercup deserved better.

noah harrington You know, I was actually very conflicted when choosing whether I hated that or "Cover Up" more. On the one hand, I find "Moral Decay" much more hateful and unpleasant to watch on the whole, but I find "Cover Up" to be worse on an abstract level. The reality is, I hate both episodes equally, but I put "Cover Up" at the top because Buttercup got punished for no reason. At least with "Moral Decay," you could argue that the villains had a reason for beating her up (even though everyone, especially Buttercup, was so out of character and Buttercup would never have done what she did in the first place). In "Cover Up," there was no reason for Buttercup to have her blanket taken away. It really makes the episode sad upon rewatch.

noah harrington Oh, and just to clear something up, I didn't mean that Buttercup deserved to be beaten up. I just meant that I could understand why the villains would be angry. But yes, I still agree that "Moral Decay" is terrible. In fact, I would almost say it gives the reboot a run for its money. Don't get me wrong: I absolutely hate the reboot, but this episode just makes me sick!

Why did you leave out the episode where grown men disguised themselves, very poorly I might add, as the Powerpuff Girls, run around committing all sorts of criminal acts, and causing the entirety of the Powerpuff Girls to be thrown in jail. The disguises were so blatantly horrible how in the world could so many people in the town honestly think that those common thieves were the actual Powerpuff Girls. The Mayor especially ticked me off in that episode because while he may not always be the smartest character in that world, the writers turned him into a complete moron. The only smart character in that episode was Mrs. Bellum who obviously didn't fall for the fake disguises and even tried to talk some sense into the Mayor.

The fact that Professor Utonium didn't learn about the stolen Pro Excellence 2000 Golf Clubs from watching the news on TV, or hearing about it on the radio when he drove over to the golf course, puts his resourcefulness into serious questioning. Also, it's one thing if he didn't read the newspaper after he got super ecstatic over the golf clubs, but then, what about Bubbles and Buttercup? I mean, didn't they read the newspaper by themselves, before placing it on the table, thus being informed about the stolen golf clubs first hand (which makes you wonder why Blossom didn't dispose of the newspaper, removing the evidence), Blossom reveals her gift to the professor, and finally, she gets caught in the act, right there, on the spot, by her entire family! The three remaining minutes of this episode? Use your imagination, and surely, yours will be better than what the two writers came up with! Truly, that scene alone is a baffling mess.

Elders as in senior citizens, not as in just people older than the Puffs themselves. Even then, the plot was so dumb, especially since the villains in that episode are so ineffective that the town didn't even need the Powerpuff Girls for that one.

I'm surprised your list doesn't include Town and Out, the most unpleasant and miserable episode of the original four seasons. But anyway, *Three Girls and a Monster* is an example of thinking of ONE big joke with an overly long setup to get there. And I absolutely hate episodes that rely on arguing between two characters. It's just frustrating to watch. *Him Diddle Riddle* had a _way_ better setup to the ending punchline. Here's the setup: The girls must solve a series of riddles devised by Him or the Professor will "pay". Here's the punchline: All the Professor had to "pay" for was breakfast at a local diner. However, they made everything you had to sit through to get to that point much more entertaining, much more creative, and the episode is actually _funnier_ on rewatch once you know the twist. At least in *Bubblevision* and *Mane Event,* it was shown as wrong to be teasing the victim Powerpuff, whereas with Buttercup, she actually IS supposed to be portrayed as silly/crazy for carrying around a security blanket even though she's like, _five years old._ Also, Blossom uses the laughter to her advantage to defeat the monster. Same with Bubbles. The glasses magnify her heat vision and melts the giant ant. Why couldn't they do something similar with Buttercup, showing how helpful the blanket is in battle? That she isn't crazy or silly for having it? Spongebob did the concept of *Fallen Arches* much better with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. Firstly, they weren't villains, but retired _superheroes_ and Spongebob/Patrick were fanboys. If Blossom didn't want to physically harm the elderly, she could've just detained them with a lower amount of force. I mean come on, cops do that all the time! *Girls Gone Mild* has the same problem Town and Out does. Yeah, let's take away the one thing that makes this show fun: the violence. Because it's the "realistic" response. Well you know what, screw realism! We're talking about bug eyed test tube babies that have fought alien broccoli and the literal boogeyman! *Nuthin' Special* is the dreaded Kick the Dog episode. Look how lame Buttercup is, ya'll! All she can do is curl her tongue! Okay, what about fans who actually LIKE Buttercup? Don't you think an episode like this will piss them off? You wanna know how you can make Bubbles the antagonist of an episode, yet still keep her relatively innocent? *Los Dos Mojos* does this perfectly. She suffers a blow to the head from a steel support beam and thinks she's Mojo Jojo. She does a lot of damage afterwards, but since she wasn't herself during that time and honestly doesn't remember when she's hit a second time, it makes sense why she wouldn't be punished. It's Mojo's fault more than it is Bubbles because he attacked her on both occasions, causing the mental alteration. If this were a court case, Bubbles could easily plead temporary insanity. In *Bubblevicious,* she is completely sane and aware of her actions, so her lack of punishment there is much more of a problem. Yeah, she apologizes, but not to the people she hurt the most - the innocent folk of Townsville. Say what you will about Moral Decay but Buttercup was beating up BAD GUYS, not citizens. Once again, Spongebob did the plot of *A Very Special Blossom* better in that Spongebob and Patrick happen to "steal" a single balloon, are ate up with guilt, and eventually turn themselves into the police station only to be told that it was Free Balloon Day the entire time. I think the biggest problem with the ending of the episode is that Blossom never _truly_ accepts blame. She just says "that's what drove me to crime" instead of "I never should've done that, it was wrong". Rugrats did a better *Moral Decay* by making the main antagonist _Angelica,_ instead of one of the normal babies like Tommy. It makes a lot more sense for Angelica to want to pull Chuckie's teeth out for money because she's always been the main bully to the babies. She also gets her "comeuppance" in a far less cruel fashion than Buttercup. She knocks her own tooth out when she runs face first into the wall chasing Chucky and Tommy with pliers, but then she doesn't get what she wants from the Tooth Fairy. I don't understand why *Cover Up* had to be as mean-spirited as it did. Even if the episode thinks Buttercup's attachment to her blanket is unhealthy, there were gentler ways of handling it. Why didn't the Professor comfort Buttercup by telling her how tough she is, with or without her blanket, but that she could always keep it close if she needed it? I mean, they never get rid of Octi, even though Bubbles is jut as clingy with it! Just because Buttercup is "the toughest fighter" doesn't mean she doesn't have feelings or insecurities. She's just a little girl. They're all kindergärtners aren't they?

Oh, and another thing: Buttercup's special power should be that tornado thing. It was the first thing she thought of in "Nuthin' Special", plus she's the only one being shown as able to do that before this episode. It's not really fair that Blossom and Bubbles can do that when they've never been shown doing it before.

I'd understand if she were shown to outright summon tornadoes like Storm, but she just flies in a circle really, really, really fast.

Fair enough, but Blossom and Bubbles never seem to have that ability, and if you watch "Twas The Fight Before Christmas", you'll notice that Blossom uses ice breath, Bubbles uses her sonic scream, and Buttercup uses the tornado. It's a clear indication that the tornado is the closest thing Buttercup has to a special power, since ice breath is Blossom's thing. I think the girls can all do a sonic scream because there's a scene where they do that in one episode, but it's usually considered Bubbles' thing.

To make another note, "Nuthin' Special" wouldn't even be an episode if Buttercup had telekenesis, like you mentioned. But how would she use that in fighting criminals? Just throwing stuff at them? I can't see Buttercup willingly doing that when she can use hand-to-hand combat.

Another thing I'd like to say: Do you think "Moral Decay" could have worked better if a villain had been the one knocking teeth out? I would've liked it to be Princess, but for that to work, her dad would have to stop giving her everything. Then the girls could teach her a lesson about money. Maybe start the episode the same way, but have the girls discuss the Tooth Fairy at school, so when Princess hears of this, she responds by trying to knock out the teeth of the other kids. When she's stopped, she starts doing it to her servants. Once it gets back to the girls, Buttercup could say something like "Look, I'd love to be rich, but I wouldn't knock people's teeth out for it!" In the end, the girls maybe knock one of her teeth out during the beating, but that's it. What do you think of that as an alternate version of "Moral Decay" - having a character we already know to be materialistic being the villain?

Wow, I never noticed before that there were double standards in the show, that's horrible. And yes it's always bothered me how Blossom let villains go scot-free because they're old in the episode Fallen Arches. Old people being useless is a stereotype that's not entirely accurate, sure a lot of them might be like that, but I can think of many people over the age of 80 who are in good shape, and are good at what they do. So that's not an excuse. Poor Buttercup, she might be an asshole sometimes, but that doesn't mean she deserves to being treated so badly.

Gotta agree with you on Bubblevicious. While it's not a bad episode by any means, it's still the most overrated episode ever and people praise it so hard. The fact that Bubbles beat up innocent citizens for minor crimes and still got praised at the end left a bad taste in my mouth. It made Bubbles come off as a Designated Hero. I guarantee you that if Buttercup had done anything like that, the fans will chastise her in a heartbeat. That's also one of the main reasons why I find Bubbles to be one of the most overrated characters in animation. Good character, but gets more praise than she really deserves and fans tend to overlook the bad things she's done.

And as much as I like bubbles, I really hate how overprotective her fanbase gets of her (like a couple of the commenters here who think buttercup was crazy over her blanket but are ok with bubbles playing with Octi) Another thing: why is it when Dee Dee gets of Scott free in Dexter's lab for wrecking his experiments or ruining his day, fans complain and call her a bitch, yet when bubbles does for things like stealing money and beating up random townsfolk they're OK? If anything Dee Dee and Bubbles are almost alike in a way (though I can tolerate bubbles more than Dee Dee)

If any other character on the show had done that, lots of people would be complaining about animal cruelty. And the way she attacked Blossom on the playground was brutal. But hey, I guess assault and animal cruelty are okay when a cute person does it. (SPOILER ALERT: It’s not.)

With bubblevicious i think the same could be said in that whale episode when bubbles brings home a whale when the Professor said no more animals. And in the end of episode bubbles released all animals from the zoo probably unaware of the damage the animals could cause to the town and won't get punished. I'm kinda surprised bubbles doesn't get grounded for the troubles she sometimes cause. Come to think of it maybe grounding her could've been an alright punishment for her if the writers don't want to go hard on her

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I actually did an extended review of "Cover Up," if you're interested. What makes me really mad is that Bubbles is constantly shown with Octi, a stuffed octopus, and that's shown as normal and okay, but when Buttercup is shown with a blanket it's treated like she has some kind of problem or something. It's just so hypocritical, in my opinion.

It really is. Everyone got so upset about seeing bad things happen to Blossom in "A Very Special Blossom," but suddenly it's okay when it happens to Buttercup (except that it isn't). I don't even want to know how people would react if Bubbles had been put through that treatment.

Now that I'm 15 I can confirm that's phycology , verbal and physical child abuse . This video hit me hard on the last two episodes. Although Blossom use to be my favorite, I could ALWAYS relate to Buttercup. I am an only child, but I have a lot of cousins, who I saw almost all the time, so they were like siblings to me. I would always go to my grandma's house and hang out with two of my female cousins. We would sometimes roleplay as the PPG and I was always Buttercup. Anyways, everytime they did something wrong, they weren't treated as badly as I was when I got in trouble, or even just being blamed for something I didn't even do wrong. I was literally known for being the "worst" kid out of the family. I have a lot of things in common with Buttercup like being a tomboy, favorite color is green, fear of spiders, short temper, etc. I watched every single episode of the PPG growing up, but I never really thought about how badly Buttercup is treated. Just wow, that makes me genuinely sad not only because she's my favorite but I can deeply relate to her.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that as a kid. Unfortunately adults do tend to favor some children over others. I will say that I related to Buttercup as well. I loved video games and I often got blamed for things (except in my case it was at school, not at home).

Umbra Magna yea, school wasn't much better for me, especially when I left my old school for one semester in 7th grade and got bullied every other day, I had to write reports almost everyday and none of those teachers even cared. Luckily, I went back to my old school and I'm now a senior

Mime for a change should have at least been an honorable mention. The worst thing that Rainbow the clown did was walk out into the street and caused that truck to crash, but it wasn't intentional and the driver was okay. But draining the world of color was a stupid reason to beat him up.

The song was catchy but I felt it wasn’t that good. And the fact that the Clown wasn’t really a bad guy. He couldn’t control himself. But the girls treated him like a villain, beats him up, and he went to jail and it ended there. In my opinion, the girls should have at least taken him to the professor to fix him permanently so he whatever he did won’t happen again.

@@acartoonfan He does get to be at their birthday maybe the boy with the balloon from Jim's birthday party and the bleach salesman explained to them what really happened and they instantly regretted it and went to go apologize for it and they let him go and he explains to them what happened to him. I can imagine Bubbles feeling the most remorseful over it.

Honestly, I actually liked that episode, but I agree that rainbow the clown shouldn't have been beaten up or even jailed. After all, it wasn't his fault. It was that truck driver's fault for carrying unpacked bleach.

I'm a bit surprised episodes like "Not so Awesome Blossom" (hate it a bit more than A Very Special Blossom), "Candy is Dandy" (Yes, I know Mojo is one of the most evil, but even he doesn't deserve to get beaten up over ad over just for some cheap candy), or "Mojo Jonesin" (SIGH those damn kinder-gardeners willing beaten the powerpuff girls just for some temporary powers) didn't make the list. And don't even get me started on "Monkey See, Doggy Two" or "Equal Fights".... I agree with most your other choices for the worst episodes. Except "Cover up" and "Three Girls And a Monster" (guilty plessures)

I agree with a lot of your selections. "Not So Awesome Blossom" was really sad, but at least Blossom wins in the end. "Candy is Dandy" is really, really bad because the girls beat up Mojo for no reason other than to acquire candy (which I think is supposed to be a metaphor for drugs since they get so addicted to it) from the Mayor. "Mojo Jonesin'" was kind of bad, too, but I honestly forgot about that episode entirely; it just wasn't very memorable for me. However, I actually liked "Monkey See, Doggie Two" if only for the fact that I got to see the dogs, the biting, the dropping...XD And as painful as "Equal Fights" could be to watch at times, I feel that it is a very important episode because it discourages man-bashing as a form of female "empowerment" and instead encourages girls to want what Susan B. Anthony and other suffragettes fought so hard for: equal treatment and opportunity.

I'm surprised you did not mention Candy is Dandy episode. That is my #1 worst episode, where the girls become addicted onto stupid candy (I know it represented drugs) that they pummeled Mojo so badly that he shed tears. And what is worse after they realized their addiction they have candy orgy with the Mayor that they all overeat candy that their bellies are bloated and they all passed out. But then the camera pans to pummeled Mojo still lying in the puddle of his own blood, sweat, drool and tears squealing. Nobody gave a single f**k to perhaps help him after what PPG had done to him?! Was that supposed to be funny? "We realize that candy is addictive so let´s have a candy blast while Mojo is still suffering right nearby."

I have a "How It Should've Ended" series on the PPG fanfiction site for that. It needs some revisions, but ultimately it continues with the Professor driving up to City Hall to find his pet monkey near death and he rushes him to the hospital. Mojo Jojo ends up in a coma and the girls are brought to court where the judge orders them to wear ankle bracelets and places them on house arrest. The girls visit Mojo daily in the hospital and pray for his recovery as well as expressing remorse for their actions.

Buttercup is my favorite Powerpuff Girl as well and I agree with all of the complaints you had about the characters in certain episodes being too mean spirited towards her unlike her sisters. Those episodes where the citizens and even her father were too hard on her, just personally made me angry and sad because I believe all the girls deserve the same kind of love and respect. It's like she was being punished for being the tough girl and a tomboy which in my eyes there was nothing wrong with that since we often need tough fighters who are super heroes and not every female super hero needs to be sexualized and or feminine.

I know she can be a jerk, but at least they acknowledge shes one, unlike when Bubbles does wrong things and gets praised for it eg. Bubblevicious. Similarly i hate how they let Dee Dee get away with her actions in Dexter's lab a LOT due to her being the 'cute and sweet' one while Dexter gets punished. I'm aware that Dexter can be a jerk and arrogant but at least the writers acknowledge his flaws. As a girl of science and logic i personally think its annoying that people ruled by emotions are said to be the 'more sweet and warm and should be listened too' ones.

It’s been shown throughout the series that even though Bubbles is cute and has some great ideas every once in a while, she’s not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box (or crayon I guess since she loves coloring). And when she does have a good idea, a lot of times it’s by accident. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I hate when people say Blossom is arrogant for being smart (I mean she is arrogant, but it’s not because she’s smart), or that Buttercup is a jerk because she gets annoyed with Bubbles’s cute stuff.

(Also about Bubbles having good ideas by accident - I feel 3 girls and a monster falls under that category *glares at soccer parents who claim the show's fighting scenes were too violent.) And I get annoyed when people call Blossom arrogant for being smart (ok she can be a know it all, but like with Dexter, that's her flaw that can get her into trouble) or Buttercup a jerk for being annoyed with Bubbles' cute stuff (I know at times Buttercup overreacted, but Bubbles must learn at times her tomboy sister isn't always into cute things. Same with how Dee Dee needs to realise Dexter isn't into ponies or 'cute and girly' things as he's a typical seven/eight year old boy when it comes to certain tastes in things boys his age like). Speaking of the last part, what I hate about the SU era of animation is that now nearly everyone wants their little boy characters to be more like Steven. Not every little boy is going to be a precious cinnamon roll or tolerate girls at a very young age. In fact most little boys AREN'T like that. While I do have my fair share of adorable sweetheart boys (Komasan from Yokai Watch and Butters from South Park and even the titular character of 'the little prince' or maybe Casper come to mind), we must bare in mind lots of little kids in real life aren't saints. And I especially HATE when they force serious romance on 5 year olds (a reason I HATE hotel Transylvania 2 (I don't care if Genndy made it, yes I love him for Dexter and Samurai jack but I feel the hotel Transylvania films are his most cringeworthy products) and call boys who diss girly things or say 'girls have cooties' 'sexist' (yet it's ok for girls to say boys are gross? Seriously feminazis?!) Also: I do have a favourite CN crossover pairing: It's Dexter and Blossom but NO It's not because of that certain doujinshi comic by bleedman, but more to do with the MMORPG Fusionfall (Dex and Bloss work together a lot in it and it has to do with the fact he shared some of his scientific ideas with Professor Untonium. From there he got to meet the girls (bear in mind he and the girls are teenagers aka past the eww cooties stage- there). Also, in my opinion while Buttercup may be the second best choice of girl for him (both have firey temperaments) I feel he'd more likely be just friends with her. Imo the best kind of couples share common interests (Blossom and Dexter share a logical mindset and a love for science), while at the same time contrast with each other, enough to help each other out (both Blossom and Dexter can be know it alls one way or the other but the difference is Blossom is more level headed/cool when it comes to things while Dexter can be a bit firey and fiesty- and both can remind each other that they are not always right when something happens. (Also keep in mind I only ship them as preteens and up- NOT thier canon ages) As for the RRBxPPG shipping, I was never crazy about it (mainly cause to me the only villianxHero ship that worked was BatmanxCatwoman, but that was because both characters had depth, while the RRB are just one dimensional in personality contrasted with the girls. Plus with the exception of most 1920s/1930s cartoons like Mickey/Minnie or porky/petunia pig, I feel uncomfortable with rule 63 counterpart shipping. Doesn't help most of the Rowdyruff shippers are rabid and would bash any fanart or video that pairs any of girls with those OTHER than their RRB counterparts. )

Yeah, the reboot's really bad. There's no doubt about that. The tragedy about the episodes I discussed is that they weren't beyond saving; a few changes here and there could have made them at least decent. For example, if they had let Buttercup keep the blanket in "Cover Up" while reminding her that her strength comes from within, the episode could easily have been great. But many of the ideas in the reboot could not have worked on any level, like having the girls twerking or getting rid of Ms. Bellum.

Also, I find it funny how Blossom claims they should "respect their elders" when they've literally beaten up old people mercilessly before. I was very surprised to see “Bubblevicious” on the list. That was one of my favorite episodes by virtue of it having great character development for Bubbles. Mark Cabaniss I considered putting "Town and Out" on the list, but I honestly have nothing to say about it other than what other reviewers have said. I do think the episode is bad, so I'll give it an honorable mention. As for "Bubblevicious", I agree that it was a good source of character development for Bubbles in that it allowed her to prove that even cute girls could be tough. That's one aspect of the episode that I actually like, along with that awesome fight sequence in the battle simulator. The reason I put in on the list was because Bubbles got away with hurting innocent people while Buttercup got severely punished for hurting villains in another episode. And "Bubblevicious" started the trend of Bubbles getting away with things in later episodes.

Umbra Magna that episode is kinda my guilty pleasure. And yeah Bubbles did steal money for good intentions like Blossom (to an extent) but at least Bubbles returned the money and beat up the convicts all by herself. Blossom on the other hand knew what she did was wrong but did it anyway. And not only did she not make up for it in any way but she lied to everyone including her own sisters, said that it was just from her stealing the professor’s attention for herself, pinning it on Mojo, and trying to escape. In the fandom community I see a lot of people say how Blossom didn’t deserve to be punished in the end which reminded me of what you said about how some people feel about Bubbles. And the same thing with Fallen Arches they said they didn’t like Bubbles and Buttercup in that episode for being mean to Blossom but really they weren’t being mean and they had every right to be angry with Blossom. And same thing with A Made Up Story with the ending of how Blossom got laughed at. But really guys she was bragging and she got hit with karma. It seems like Blossom is slowly getting the same treatment that Bubbles gets from the fans.

I hate Nuthin Special for other reasons. Not only the huge amount of damage they recklessly caused and no one even caring but the way Blossom was shoving it in Buttercup's face that she doesn't have a special power. She even tries to bring down her confidence by saying that it isn't a special power and looks angry in the ending hearts. So it makes me almost happy that she found at least something that makes her stand out.

Umbra Magna That would be an honor! And Blossom is my least favorite character of the whole show. This episode is one of the reasons why I decided to make her my least favorite. It was Buttercup at first (put an end to that real fast) and put Blossom at the bottom. While Bubbles is my favorite character and probably always will be Buttercup is an even closer second thanks to you! The other episode that made me hate Blossom even more was Makes Zen To Me. She clucking insulted Buttercup and told her off all because she just saved the day. And why the cluck does she look happy when the girls are walking out of the Chinese restaurant? Is it because she likes making Buttercup seem inferior to the other girls? If that’s the case then she’s just an overly confident butt hole and always wants to stay the most notable so she’s constantly trying to bring Buttercup down. Also Bubbles looks upset just watching helplessly as Blossom insults the crap out of Buttercup. Also remember in Octi Evil how Bubbles said she hated when the other two fight? Yeah well Blossom clearly doesn’t care about that. My dog I hate that episode. Makes Zen To Me I don’t hate Octi Evil at all in fact that episode is very special to me.

Umbra Magna yeah as if she hasn’t been aggravating enough already! She just had to play it as “what got into her” when it’s so blatantly obvious! I really hate when Blossom just has to go out of her way to make Buttercup feel inferior, as if Buttercup hasn’t had enough on her mind already, and the episode puts her in the right! Also I hate Not So Awesome Blossom too! Not only does Blossom blow off her sisters and says “it’s just you and me” when they’re clearly fine! And when Buttercup steps up to take down the robots in the solution that even Patrick Star could figure out its portrayed as a bad thing that makes Blossom lose her confidence! Jeez what was she so upset about the fact that she didn’t get the attention and praise she’s not the only Powerpuff Girl! Also in one of the episodes of Craig Of The Creek they basically stated “a leader was someone who stood up when no one else would”. Buttercup did that. Yet it’s treated as a bad thing! I was so upset that it actually satisfied me when Blossom ran away.

Wow, and to think I actually used to like "Not So Awesome Blossom". I always felt like there was something off about the way Buttercup was portrayed, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. You explained it perfectly. I hate how they make Buttercup look like the bad guy for taking charge when Blossom left. And it's not like the girls drove her away; she chose to leave! I mean, sure, Buttercup did get really excited when she managed to defeat the monster when Blossom couldn't, but the episode made out like she was bragging when she was simply celebrating a victory. But what really gets me is when they have Buttercup say, "I learned a lesson" when Blossom comes back to help her and Bubbles. As if it were such a horrible thing for Buttercup to take charge when Blossom left. I see it as nothing but the writers giving the middle finger to Buttercup fans by saying she's incompetent and that the only good leader they'll ever have is Blossom (you know, if a good leader abandons her team mates).

My least favourite episode of the original series definitely has to be Toast of the Town because of the way they made the Mayor talk like a baby/toddler throughout the whole episode (and the way they made the Professor at fault when he was only trying to work). I mean yes, there were a few funny moments in this episode and the Mayor was always a bit childish and naive from the start but he was never childish to the point of actually talking like a baby "Mayor want Toast", "Mayor too high, Mayor wants to get down", "And I no likey all these big mean hard pointy buildings either" and in all the other seasons, he showed some awareness and even some maturity when there was a crime in Townsville or when it was really neccesary even though he was clueless on how to deal with those situations properly and needed Ms. Bellum and the Girls to do the rest. My other least favourite original ppg episodes based on what I've watched for now are: 2) Town and Out: why would the Professor even want to move in an obviously dirty, dysfunctional city like Citiesville even if he got another job. 3) Moral Decay: I didn't quite mind Buttercup beating up the villains for money but making her want to attack Bubbles and Blossom, and the the two of them conspiring with the villains against Buttercup was off character for all of them 4) Pee Pee G's: lack of action, making the Mayor act like a baby again (not as bad as Toast of the Town though) and I think Mojo pulling a prank on the girls was slightly off character for him when in most of the other episodes he wanted to destroy the girls. 5) Monkey See, Doggy Two: just completely pointless and inferior in comparision to the first episode with the same name not to mention it made Mojo (who is very intelligent in spite of planning his schemes badly) look like a total buffoon. 6) Bubblevision: Blossom and Buttercup teasing Bubbles and the ending - would have been much better if Blossom and Buttercup accepted Bubbles's glasses rather than Bubbles getting her vision back through Buttercups laser vision. 7) Schoolhouse Rocked: Shouldn't the Ganggreen gang have gone to high school/college rather than a Kindergarten and Ms. Keane trusting them over the girls. 8) A Very Special Blossom: the Professors self-serving attitude of course as I didn't quite mind Blossom doing something wrong for once if it was to make the Professor happy and I think the ending was a strong lesson to all: no matter how loved/admired you are, you have to suffer the consequences if you have made a mistake. 9) Sweet n Sour: how stupid can people get, just because those animals are cute doesn't mean they are incapable of committing crimes. 10) Save Mojo: those protesters were so stupid to not realise Mojo is not a safe animal. 11) Bubblevicious: I actually loved this episode but I agree it would have been much better if Bubbles got punished for her "hardcore actions"

I honestly think this is one of my favorite powerpuff girls review video. I feel like people get me! 1. Buttercup is my favorite character too! 2. People understand why “Bubblevicious” is not a good episode! It would be better if Bubbles got punished at the end! Buttercup on the other hand actually got punished by getting beaten up by all the villains at once for kind of doing the right thing. Yeah, maybe she went too far for knocking the villains’ teeth out but it was certainly not as bad as attacking innocent people for trying to be “hardcore.” And Buttercup and Bubbles are the same age! Buttercup is like seconds older than Bubbles. 3. Kind of going along with #2 it’s clear how Bubbles is the favorite and Buttercup is the least favorite. Bubbles is always the hero and the savior and Buttercup is always the villains. 4. Cover up is pretty bad as well. So apparently Buttercup cannot get attached to anything even though it helps her fight and Bubbles making fun of her for that even though she cuddles with octi 24/7 and that distracts her from fights is okay. And Apparently it’s not okay for Buttercup to make fun of Bubbles for her body with octi octi, even though she gets way too attached with, and gets distracted from fights because of it. 5. Buttercup not getting a special power is so messed up! She has already been through a lot with being the least favorite of the family, and maybe the writers. But her not getting a special power? This really makes me sad. And when Buttercup has joy that only she can at least curl her tongue, Blossom tries to destroy her confidence. The professor’s least favorite is apparently Buttercup too! Buttercup is my favorite of them all by a landslide. Blossom is against Buttercup and Bubbles only takes advantage of everything. If this is what middle kids go through when growing up, Hats off to you guys!

I wish that they portrayed her that way in the math episode in the original but instead Buttercup disliked math so that she kept getting the equations wrong, while Blossom and Bubbles understood it. I have an neat idea on how " a very special blossom" could've worked. Instead of blossom stealing the golf clubs i they could've made it where the mayor did give the girls money maybe not 2000 dollars (although they could've done that) like maybe 100 or 500 or so where the girls could've used that money to buy a gift of their own to the professor. But with the thought of wanting to give the professor the clubs blossom might go as far to steal the money from her sisters and use that to buy the clubs, i mean yeah it's still stealing but not from a store. Or she would raise the money on her own like fighting crime by herself to gain enough money from the mayor to buy the clubs without telling her sisters. And bubbles and buttercup would find out what blossom did and would not be happy about it and would try to destroy the clubs that blossom bought as payback for what has blossom has done. Or maybe have blossom do the nice things for the professor would have eyes on her and this would have bubbles and buttercup jealous. In other words this episode could've been about blossom selfishly wants the professors love and attention for herself without knowing on what she is doing is angering her sisters since the professor is their dad too and they are her sisters and they are suppose to be a team and blossom would learn on what she was doing was not okay and try to make up for it to give the best father's day to the professor together. At last that's the best idea i could come up with for this episode, i mean maybe it's not the best or maybe it won't work but you know

Three Girls and a Monster is a bit too paper-thin. I don't actually think it's the worst, but it should've had more meat to it. Bubblevision is an inferior retread of The Mane Event and Nuthin' Special is an episode that feels like it exists just to sh*t on Buttercup. A Very Special Blossom's worst flaw is its characterization of the Professor ("Who cares how she got them?!" / "Girls, money is no object."), and Moral Decay chose the wrong type of antagonist.

The decay episode made me angry back then. I hated seeing Blossom, my favorite character, get punished, but that episode made me think that the truth fairy was fake. I was like 5, or 6 then and I even tried putting my sisters tooth under my pillow after I got a dollar, but I didn't get anything of course, so that episode hurt me inside.

Umbra means a punishment like Blossom's 200 hrs work community service for stealing golf clubs etc. Yes they only gave her a scolding and pep talk about letting animals free, but not even a simple time out or grounding for letting a baby whale in the house.

12: Why they bring teenagers to KinderGarden? Where is the school? I liked this episode in my childhood, now, I see the problem. Ms keane should be award that the Green Gang are criminal. When she allow that, I think she wanted to give education. Meh, what can I says? 11: The PPG are just children that take moral. But in the reality, we don't judge someone by their cover.2:45 I wonder why Blossom allows this hapenned. She developped in "Sweet n Sour" episode. Giving random symptome time from time? That's doesn't see the case. 8: I HATE THIS EPISODE. The writer are too lazy to add more thing to make this episode watchable. After all, thoses seasons are my least favorite. I hate thoses villain who prive their power. Without them, the crime will rise and will be seriously damaged. I feel like thoses parents wanted to make genocide of some sort. 7: Ugh, don't tell me about it. 6: Blossom has ice breath, Bubbles can speak spanish and Buttercup has fire ball. Why they didn't think of that? Her having a psychic power is really interesting! This will balance her brawn and brain power. I can see that! 5: This episode was like Sonic Adventure 2... Seeing someone died make me depressed... I agree this is traumatising. 4: My favourite episode on my favourite number. Now, I know why this is bad. Bubbles is the innoncent but her inoncence doesn't make her go away with it. The blue one is really emotionally weak. And by that, I mean she is easly driven by emotion and her young age doesn't help the case. She become aggresive just because she was mocked because of her personnality type (the sweet one). 10:06 Yep, this is the biggest flaw with the episode. 3: I confess that me and my two friends wanted to copy this episodes, which they become angry. I know why this episode is the worst. Blossom wanted to make the professor happy and as she is the reason, she know she break the laws and hide it to keep his smile but it doesn't last long... 11:40 Tell about "Powerpuff Bluff" episode. I love your analysis in this one. 2: See my comment on the video rant of this episode. This mean-spirited episode wanted to punish a deadly sin, with losing teeth, which we need them to eat. Sure, kids wanted money to buy thing because they can't afford but it is really extrem. I feel so bad for Buttercup. Dang it, it is near the end of the 3rd season. However, we didn't get anything like that at all and, given the writers' apparent distaste for Buttercup as a character, I sincerely doubt we ever would've... To be fair, I don't think that was the writers' intention, but honestly (as Mr Enter says), intent doesn't really mean much when it comes to the final product. I got angry at those episodes as a kid, but as an adult I feel even more pain when watching them, because I am able analyze them more deeply and therefore come to worse conclusions. But I find that reading Buttercup fanfictions is extremely cathartic, especially ones that acknowledge her unfair treatment.

Alejandra Cervantes me too. Blossom seems to have a thing against comfort objects. She not only did what she did here but in Octi Gone she told Bubbles she doesn’t need it because she’s insecure and to grow up. As someone who has a lot of stuffed animals and a few stress balls that kinda hurt. I know Bubbles seems to be treated like she could do no wrong but this isn’t okay for her to do to either of her sisters.

I actually did like one part about "Nuthin' Special". After spending the entire episode basically one-upping Buttercup,she basically has a full fledged breakdown and insults herself claiming that she's not and will never be special. And her sisters,after realizing how upset they've made her feel and how upset she's been feeling in general,actually apologize and tell her that even if she has no special power they genuinely love and value her as a member of the team and as her sister.

Great Video but there are things that you need to improve in your future videos (or remake your video) 1. Background Noise : there's was so much background noise from your laptop or something that i have trouble to listen to you 2. Voice Little Louder : If you talk a little louder ,people will hear you better 3. Pauses : Now i know that you can talk perfectly but make sure that you don't make pauses ,your editing will help you to cut your pauses (Editing is your friend) 4. Actually, I liked “Schoolhouse Rocked.” I actually thought the Gangreen Gang had some funny moments in that episode other than being villainous to the kids in school. For example, the arcade scene, the Show-and-Tell scene, and even the climax where they get beaten by the Powerpuff Girls in their “Dodgeball game.”

How is The City of Frownsville not on this list?! As a kid I HATED having to watch/hear the characters crying like idiots bc some villain was constantly crying like an idiot. It's aggravating and ultimately sad (and not sad in a good way) to the point where it almost has the same effect on me. Also, isn't it a bit strange for Bubbles to win the Happiest Citizen award, which on one hand makes sense bc she's a sweetheart, but on the other, she's had the most crying scenes out of her and her sisters (at least as far as I'm concerned lol)? I even saw a VIDEO about it once! When I first read the title I thought this would be an interesting episode, someone's gonna make all of Townsville all grumpy and/or depressed, BUT I WAS WRONG!! No, you can't pull the "didn't know any better" card. In Los Dos Mojos, Bubbles didn't know any better. She hit her head and got amnesia. In Bubblevicious, she was completely sane and aware of her actions. She just decided that she didn't care. Not until she was finally given her cake ("you're hardcore!") and allowed to eat it too.

Great list, my personal least favorite Ppg episode is “Too Pooped to Puff.” The girls were way out of character. I mean THE GIRLS ARE SUPERHEROES. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT MONSTERS AND BAD GUYS NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES (unless they are hurt or sick). I know they were tired but there’s no excuses. And the townspeople were not innocent either. They shouldn’t used the girls to do their own work. But the girls should have told them their only duty is to fight crime, not doing their work right there and then. NOT sitting on the cloud and force the townspeople to “fight” the monster. I mean if the girls actually leave the city, what do they think what happened? The people would have gotten hurt or worse. I know the episode is teaching people that you should do things on your own, don’t be lazy. But it’s executed wrong in my opinion. It’s just too harsh for my liking. They only part that I kinda like is when the Mayor told the girls to clean up the mess in the city, they kinda deserve it. But other than that, there’s nothing to like about the episode.

I did like the premise of the girls getting taken advantage of, because it reminds me of those 911 videos where people call an emergency hotline for petty inconveniences like "wanting a ride home" or "a refund for a burger at McDonalds". But when it's an actual monster attacking the city, the girls as SUPERHEROES are obligated to help. That's not the time to just sit on a cloud and tell the townspeople to handle it themselves.

In the final scene of Cover Up I think Blossom and Bubbles were angry not because Buttercup had her blanket, but because they thought she was using her blanket as an excuse not to fight crime, but that's the problem; Buttercup has always shown her love for fighting and beating all the monsters and villains, so it can't be an excuse; On the other side, Blossom and Bubbles are people who are not afraid to show themselves vulnerable, if they have to cry they do it, but Buttercup does not, she is more closed and hates looking vulnerable in front of people and her sisters, possibly for fear of showing weakness, she would NEVER cry or want to look weak in front of anyone, much less her sisters. So, would Blossom and Bubbles really think that Buttercup was using the blanket as an excuse not to fight after seeing her literally crying her eyes out over not finding the object that provided her safety? I'm sure that if something similar had happened with Bubbles and Octi they would be super understanding of her, why not with Buttercup too? Buttercup is also my favorite character and I feel so sorry for her in this episode :(

I was going to put that episode on this list (it's called "Down n' Dirty", by the way), but I didn't want it to look like I was just ranting about Buttercup-centered episodes the whole time. I might do an updated list in the future with that episode on it because, yes, that episode is very, VERY bad. I especially hated the part where Professor kicked Buttercup out of the house (something he NEVER would have done to Blossom or Bubbles) and where the town essentially ran one of their own heroes out of Townsville. It was so mean-spirited!

Umbra Magna, Let me tell you a story. When I was little, while I did love PPG 1998 (it was my second favourite CN show and still is one of my faves despite the flaws in the writing), I couldn't figure out why, for the life of me preferred the other 2 girls over Bubbles (even though I do share a love for drawing and animals) or had Dexter as my all time favourite cartoon network character (Dexter was and STILL is my all time favourite CN character as not only do I find him adorkable and adorable in his own nerdy way, I actually found him relatable as I've always had a passion for science and wasn't always the most social girl and had a quite bit of a temper when teased as a kid (yes, a girl can relate to those certain aspects) as opposed to Bubbles, whom all the girls in my school had as their fave CN character cause 'she's so cute'. Now after watching your top 12 worst PPG episodes, I realised why. Even if I do like Bubbles, I hated the fact that Bubbles' flaws, not counting her crybaby nature were always sidestepped by the fandom (and at times the WRITERS as you've pointed out in this vid- ESPECIALLY in the overrated ep Bubblevicious) cause 'she's soooo cute and looky at her playing with the cute widdle animals! (still not as bad as Fluttershy, whom I despise)' At least Blossom and Buttercup have thier flaws and bad actions acknowledged most of the time and the fandom seems to acknowledge that Blossom can be a know it all and Buttercup can be brash. (Heck, I am even aware that my all time favourite CN character Dexter can be a jerk and arrogant and at LEAST the writers acknowledge that and punish him when he does wrong things).

Absolutely! Thinking about those episodes, “Bubblevicious,” “Cover Up,” and “A Very Special Blossom” definitely show favoritism. Bubbles could do so much wrong that would put her through severe punishments however, she gets away with everything she has done. Buttercup however doesn’t do anything wrong (besides tossing food on the ground looking for her blanket) and instead of support which is what she NEEDED they took away her blanket, teased her, and though the blanket wasn’t even causing any problems and was helping Buttercup the forced her to give away her blanket. And the A very special Blossom, besides sending a 5-year-old to jail, I would say Blossom was punished pretty fairly. And Bubblevicious is definitely one of the most overrated episodes of the powerpuff girls and Bubbles is definitely an overrated character in my opinion. I am sorry for commenting but the favoritism in the show has made me angry and sad for a while and I am so glad I am not the only one who is aware about it.

I don't really mind about the PPGirls getting there just desserts tbh here some of these episodes I saw as a pre teen and in my early teens in my younger years I grew off toys as an adult getting on to my older years and I never had a fondness for blankets. In my personal pick, A very special blossom could have been number one as the worst PPG episode. Not even the reboot could make such a mess of character abuse episode.. Couldn't they have at least written a scene where blossom reconcilies with her family after finishing the community service? In fact, this is one of many bad episodes of good shows I have wanted to rewrite in a good way (Like We Bare Bear's "Burrito" did with Spongebob's "To love a patty"

I agree that the episode was very, very bad. It's almost as bad for me as "Moral Decay" due to the unwarranted character derailment. The main reason I put "Moral Decay" over "A Very Special Blossom" is because the Professor still seems to care about Blossom and tries to help her out. He didn't even care when Buttercup got her teeth knocked out. I'm seriously wondering how she didn't get worse injuries, and why didn't she fly away to save herself from the villains? Anyway, both episodes are very, very bad. And I can see why you hate this episode so much.

​@@Umbra_Magna777 I wouldn't really say he didn't care about Buttercup because he still took her to the dentist to get her teeth fixed. While he was rightfully disappointed in her, he at least didn't express glee at Buttercup's suffering. He didn't yell at her, he didn't say he hated her, and he didn't say she deserved what she got. All he said was that he hoped that the bad experience was enough to teach her that her bad actions have consequences that not even he can control. That said, you were right. Professor Utonium could have and should have done more to at least give her a special "I love you" moment in a way that's pleasant yet unique from her sisters.
