Thanks for the tips! Big Bear Lake - one of my favorite rainbow trout lakes when I was growing up. My Dad & I would fish at night from the floating dock at Gray’s Landing on the North Shore. The lights would attract insects and minnows and I’d use a sliding bobber set-up to fish the mid-surface area. Sadly, I don’t think Gray’s Landing is there anymore. Can we see you fishing the lake?

How do the “worm” and “mice tail” methods, not break off the second you cast it from the shore? My problem with power dough, is that it’s so brittle.... All of the methods seem great, but my dough always flies right off whenever i’m casting from shore.

The key is to follow my instruction to line up the line with the bait... That way when it flies through the air the bait will straighten out like a dart.if you hook it diagonally or laterally it will come off or helicopter in the air. Also there are casting techniques that helped a lot.

@@TroutWest Thank you bro - I appreciate the tip. I’ll be on the look out for that Ep. My wife and I are going to Big Bear this weekend for the first time, pumped. Sounds like the west side of the lake (big red house? /the dam) would be a good place to start after watching your videos on BB...or could the fish already be moving to shallower waters?

@@micahconrad5989 really depends on the weed die off and what is happening with them... If they are floating up and choking up the water column the fish will definitely move away from that. If the water is cleared out by the wind pushing the debris to a certain part of the lake then you should do pretty well on the northwest side. I will likely be up there this Saturday but like I said I'm waiting to see what the water conditions tell us before we pick a spot

How does the powerbait last until it would not work anymore?

In the jar? Or once already casted out? If you're talking about after it's been casted into the water it will usually be able to sit out there for more than a few hours before it's dissolved

@@TroutWest I have this powerbait in the jar and the dough is not really forming well. The smell and formation is not very well anymore compared to the other ones.
