I own the Shaw, and I have absolutely no regrets. Yes, it was pricey, but that faded away as soon as i got it. Took it off my carrier the other day and used it as a day pack for a kayak trip with my kids. Water, small amount of supplies, pistol and mag. Everything i could want in a pack designed for self access on a carrier with the benefit of being useful in so many other places

I took the buckles off of my flat pack shoulder straps and sewed on g hooks. Now i can shoulder the rifle excatly the same with or without the bag. It made a huge difference for me. It lays flatter and more comfortable. I prdered the mepc kit but they use the skinny straps and i liked the fatter straps the flat pack came with.

@theexpressionbooth3 ай бұрын
@jordanpohl6856 you should try it. I cut the loop right where the factory stitching was then added the g hook and stitched back over the original stitching. It made the loop tighter but still plenty of room. It helps to keep the g hooks flat if it's tighter. Like I said, it really helped to shoulder the rifle with the pack on. It's not as easy to get off, but it's still doable.

The water bladder hook was designed to work with the USMC issued water bladders. Which have the hook built into them. The shaw pcp was to bridge the gap for marines where their issued camelback (filbe) was slightlynto small for things and the filbe assualt pack was often a little to big for things.
@ThinLineDefenseCoАй бұрын
ahhh appreciate that. For the military use I get it. But why then sell it to the civilians being half ass put together.
@JoeyykАй бұрын
@ThinLineDefenseCo 🤷♂️ i dont have any issues with the pack at all, besides i wish it was cheaper cause i want another one. But im also familiar with what it was trying to essentially replace and do. Love mine. But, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Luckily there is no shortage of options out there noe for gear!!

The Shaw P*P Sandwich carrier pack looks great, but that price is really tough to swallow. Like MRE crackers without water……. The DM pack is really tempting……… Also, Pointy Hat Spell Casting Robe Commandos, is the best description ever.

The Agilite looks like the more apealing to me but I've commited the sin of overloading my plate carrier's back pack since it's easy to do so when you play airsoft and your magazines do not weigh enough...

Walsh, I know you’re just poking fun at Shaw Concepts but honestly deep down you know you’re crying they didn’t allow a discount code for your viewers. Although they’re pricey I would never turn my hard earned money away from their gear that provides solutions for the standard GI gear and that’s what their focus is really on.

I like the amap iii the most. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to figure out how to set it up quick disconnect style...maybe the hayley straps would work? My favorite daypack is a deuter speedlite 20. Hiked with it for ovr a decade. Packs almost as much as a MR2DAP, handles the weight better and is lighter

Hey Walsh can you do a video showing the details of how to attach all the buckles running into this situation so many options. Great idea of transitioning the traditional molle to that skeleton frame just no idea how to attach from there! Thank you! I tried that JPC quick zip multi layer hydration pack with another zip to a similiar bag as the first one here just seems really janky and alot of extra space this seems much more streamline and probably the solution I need

@dmoose70665 ай бұрын
Are you familiar with the summer of bummer qd system. Its not a pack but hands down the best way i have found to reach stuff on your back without a buddy. You do need good shoulder mobility for it to work well, and takes some practice yo get on and off. Once you get over the learning curve, its amazing.
@Cascadian_Convergence5 ай бұрын
I've entertained the thought of a PC pack for some time now. This was really informative. I did 3 deployments with the Army issued assault packs. I hated them. The shoulder straps always went off the sides of my armor and would cutoff the circulation to my arms after a few hours. I imagine this doesn't happen with these micro packs?
@ThinLineDefenseCo5 ай бұрын
Yea the idea is to use the same real estate that is already taken up by the carrier. Since it follows the straps, it doesn't really move on any of the setups so it removes that issue. But at the same time, it would be harder to really pack them out.
@wyattbidewell19545 ай бұрын

I like the MicroMAP but the price is A little too high for what it is. To get the best experience it needs the Agilite Sapi water bladder. So we’re talking over $200. It hard justify for what it is. The Recondite is the best bang for your buck.
