Bulgarian split squats were invented by a bulgarian who named this exercise. This is why they are called bulgarian :D

They are just a myth/hoax tho, the bulgarian weightlifters never did them

@@fluxeorswndic My bad. However now that I think of it, was it not the americans that it named it bulgarian split squats? I think Angel Spassov (assistant coach) talked about the weightlifers doing split squats and step ups instead of squats(no idea why he said this, but he apparently did) at a seminar or something similar in the US. After that, those who were at the seminar started calling the special split squat variation "Bulgarians Split Squats" because Angel had mentioned it. I could be wrong tho
