I know. I owned a 94 Viper RT and a 99 GTS at the same time. Wish I had kept them. They weren't' as fast as the later models, but still very fast. I buried the 185 mph speedometer in the 99 GTS, and my best quarter mile ET was 11.64 @ 117 mph.

The Porsche 911 GT3 was the most fun track track car. I’ve only driven a Lambo LP560-4, Ferrari F430, Ferrari 458 Italia, and a F430 RC2 (or 1?) race car around a track, but the GT3 was the best experience by far. The Ferrari’s had the best engine sound, it was like a gorgeous symphony, but the Porsche’s boxer 6 still sounded amazing, and the car just felt amazing around all the bends and braking. The Lambo was awful, it felt like driving a marshmallow, made me nauseous.

the fact mercedes used an F1 engine with 1000 hp and literal F1 car aero to beat the 911 gt3 that had half the horsepower, and then porsche came out with a new gt3 rs that took the record back, still with half the horsepower, it's kinda hilarious to me

The GT2 RS was heavily modified by a professional race team and it narrowly beat the Black Series by less than a second. AMG is still the factory stock king of the Ring. Even if we include the Porsche, it got utterly smashed by the AMG One. Wonder what will happen when the 21C, the Valkyrie or the Speirling shows up to the track.
