I swaped out the safety for the reverse safety and delete right side "she is right handed like me thankfully", HB trigger, Magpul grip, Magpul hand stop and Sig red dot. I’ve been a pcc lover for years now, even before it was fashionable and I’ve taken a lot of crap from the “use a rifle for home defense, there is no use for a pcc” crowd throughout the years. However, these pistol chasis that turn your glock and sig pistols into a pdw are starting to get good. And I do mean really good. Recover Tactical and MCK have some really good offerings for a great price. Those would be ideal for the majority of Americans who only own 1 gun which statistics say that’s the majority of gun owners. I’ve had a gen 3 g19 for years that I really didn’t enjoy shooting anymore and then I bought a 20/20 tactical brace from Recover Tactical. I slapped a red dot and a light along with the extra mag pouch on it and I’ve fallin in love with that old gun all over again. The point is, if you can’t afford a new pcc, Look into putting a pistol you already own into A pdw chasis.
@ShawnGS3006 ай бұрын
The recover tactical is crap, i had one a few years ago and had to get rid of it, it’s uncomfortable to shoot and doesn’t make any sense. The CAA MCK and Macaroni (Micro Roni) are a waste of money, your gun inside the chassis will get dirty and clogged up really fast.

I'd argue that MPX mags are better long term due to the metal feed lips. I've had three Scorpion mags fail on the feed lips, where they'd crack and just dump the entire mag on the ground. Not great. I know the newer ones use different materials, but it's still polymer feed lips.

I also like the pistol grip magazine feeding it has since it shortens the gun a couple of inches and makes reloading a natural hand-to-hand motion. I also just really like the appearance. I had an Extar EP9 before (purchased based on your review in part) but I had issues with it. Firing pin mechanism gunked up after a couple hundred rounds and consistently soft-struck. Also, it locks open with 1 round still in the mag (Glock and KCI brand both). It got serviced and it works fine minus the aforementioned issue and rare misfeeds. I can attest to the Extar ep9 . It’s the most inexpensive pcc on the market (excluding the Hipoints). They go on sale in 300 unit intervals. You want one you better get push notifications setup so as soon as they are available you’ll have all of twenty minutes to get your order in. Even in your cart it can be snatched away from you so act hastily. Upon arrival I found it to be aesthetically pleasing. The upper and lower are high strength polymers that explain why the price point is so low and affordable. It accepts Glock mags and loves fun sticks (33 round Glock) mags. They seat well and feed the ep9 like a growing baby on breast milk. I’ve put maybe a thousand rounds through it. Federal, Sig, Fiochii, Blazer, Patriot defense, Freedom munitions. All brass. No failures. The Stribog is much better built but has a strangely high bore axis. There’s a lot of real estate from the trigger to the top rail but functions very well. Same ammo as the ep9 and zero fails. Freedom ordnance FX9 was my first pcc 9 mm and they ran at $469 new some eight years ago. Now they are in the $700’s I believe but not worth the inflated pricing. It ran well but hated steel and aluminum cased rounds. Stove piping every other round with Aguila and remanned CCI I loaded myself. The brand new CZ scorpion with the new grip is amazing. That angled grip on the 3 and 2 was awkward imo and I often asked why they didn’t make a more vertical grip. CZ did it and it made greatness even better. This gun I could take into CQ battle without hesitation. Very, very fantastic and fun pcc. Run subsonics and a good can and you’ll find no need for ears. I’ve tested it in a basement audible running at 78-83 dcb spite others claiming 110 dcB outdoors. You can’t go wrong on a good pcc for home defense. It instills a lot of control and confidence to the user.

Love this video. I bought both the Extar EP9 and the CZ Scorpion on Honest Outlaws recommendation. I did all the standard upgrades to the Scorpion (HB trigger springs, left safety delete, better pistol grip, larger charging handle). Great gun. Still, I enjoy shooting the EP9 more, and it’s the gun sitting by my bed. For $400, it’s a no brainer. 👍 I recommend Extar’s package deal with the soft case, extra mags and sling. I ended up buying all of those separately, and they are all great. Costs less in the package deal.

Great video as always! I have to check that Extar EP9. Also please DO fight for your rights with 2A. Because hobbyist/Enthusiasts like me that currently lives in another country are also affected with all these suggested bans and other 2A Infringement! Forexample, CZ Scorpion Evo S1 here is around $2,800, CMMG Banshee 200 is $4,000, Sig MPX is $6,000. Box of MagTech 9mm (50 rounds) $70. Glock 45 MOS is $1,150 (which i just bought) Imagine if 9mm gets banned, price will skyrocket more. Oh, don't get me started with ARs and Stuff. CZ Bren is $8,000. Which civilians are not allowed to buy at the moment, we all just waiting for the bans of higher caliber rounds to be lifted.

Put 1,107 rounds of all sort of 9mm ammo through my Hi-Point 995TS and it never malfunctioned. Also, had a decent amount of rail space for a $240 carbine. And when I did have an issue, which didn't affect reliability but was an issue nonetheless, Hi-Points customer service was fantastic. Can't comment on their pistols other than that I've seen a .380 ACP Hi-Point just simply fail at the range and I've seen a couple .45 ACP Hi-Point pistols function flawlessly at the range.

Love the Beretta CX-4. A little dated but the most accurate and reliable pcc I have shot. You're right about the sights: they are very good but too low and a pain to aquire, a red dot is almost mandatory. Also, the safety is stupidly stiff - I end up leaving it off at the range.

I was really considering a PCC instead of an AR-15 because of overpenetration concerns. But I was looking at something not on this list-the Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm. I shot one at my range and it just ran like a top and shot like a dream; I don’t think there’s any gun I’ve ever fired that I was immediately faster and more accurate with. I still might get one down the road, but for now, I’m putting that money towards a Ruger AR-556 free float. I still really dig these PCCs, though.
@stever877611 ай бұрын
Look up the Tactical Rifleman's extensive home barrier tests. A 55 grain 5.56 actually penatrates less than a 9 mm. Get some Federal TAP ammunition for your AR. That said the muzzle blast from an AR-15 is really loud indoors. A Scorpion with an 8" barrel and a Brace are great! Much more maneuverable in the home. Unless you go to an AR-15 pistol or SBR with an 11" barrel. Shorter than 11" gives you more reliability issues Cheers

The Keltec sub 2000 is a pretty good one in my opinion. It has the backpackable fold in half option to it that not a lot of PCC‘s have, and people who have shot them say that they are absolute nail drivers. But knowing them intimately I know that they have their pros and cons as well and they balance each other pretty harshly. Adapters can make it take all sorts of different magazines, just like PC carbine, but unlike the PC carbine you have to press and hold the mag release and more often than not have to pull the mag in order to get it to drop out. GEN one versions can be gotten cheaper but GEN one versions also have a habit of needing owners to buy Loctite in order to keep screws from walking out. They made an integrally suppressed one for shot show two years ago, but I have yet to ever see one.

The EP9 was my first-ever gun -- bought on your recommendation. I was thrilled with it: lightweight, easy and total fun to shoot, deadly accurate (here I am a total newbie, and I shot so well at my first lesson, my instructor asked me if I had a CPL!). It functioned flawlessly... until I actually followed the recommendation on Extar's website and shot Tulammo (steel cased) through it. The trigger action became hard and clunky, and I started to have malfunctions. That led me to a video from MK Outdoor Journal about EP9 upgrades. I got the replacement trigger it recommended: Palmetto State Armory Enhanced Polished -- metal, not polymer. I also got a new metal ambidextrous safety control. In my first range session with the new trigger there was some improvement. But in the next session -- 200 rounds -- the clunkiness finally disappeared and I had no malfunctions at all -- back to normal, thanks! And, no more Tulammo for me, ever!
