Really enjoyed this vid I have used pretty much all Logitech wheels since the first red MOMO - which was the state of the art at the time. Not done any proper racing for a few years and it will be a while yet before I do as I am presently rebuilding my rig. Got my Simucube 2 Pro base, now I'm looking for a screen and steering wheel - not made my mind up yet which I see your comments as further confirmation for the near 1300 quid my wheelbase cost me though it sits there awaiting a wheel and other work to be completed, I thought the sound system analogy very clever and certainly got the point across for me. I don't care too much that i'm old and probly will hardly ever win a race online, but I will certainly enjoy the drive.

I tried a good DD wheel once, maybe the Simcube, I don't remember. I had better laptimes than with my CSW v2 on the first laps! And a waaay waay greater feel, like if I was "closer" to the car. Everything is instantaneous!

No SW20 is fine better off spending money on something else , small maige is amazing motor and is only really limited by the racing simulators software/FFB of each game.

Im going to stick to the v2.5 found out today though fanatec is up to something with a more afordble DD base . Might be something good who knows hopefully you will get you hands on one and chuck out a review . I just cant justify the extra cash over the v2.5 to go DD having said that ive not used a DD before so i wont realy know what im missing i know someone that actualy had a v2.5 got a DD2 and then went back to the 2.5 in the end and that in its sellf sold it to me and i bought a clubsport v2.5 .

DD1 and simucube 2 / small maige OSW are like 25-30% smoother than a 2.5 and have a bit more detail + the option of stronger FFB and slighty better filtering feel but its not a HUGE difference if a person already had a CSW 2.5 then they might as well hold onto it. It would not make sense to buy a 2.5 as a new wheel these days though. It might make sense to ebay the 2.5 and then move to a DD mind you depends on the price you would get and if you wanted slighty better FFB.

It's a csl DD with 5nm for $350. And can make it 8nm with an upgrade kit. And fanatec says they are releasing a new qr system but everyone with a junk original qr will have to pay for the upgrade. Plus will need the end for the side of your wheel rim to. Fanatec sucks point blank. Sold all there junk for simucube

Never heard of this tbh. Most games used today like Assetto Corsa, Raceroom and so on are about 10 years old. This is really old! And all of them support DD very well.

@@bjornromermann5080 No, these games aren't old in the sense Dave asks. AC is from 2014, received updates till 2018 at least - that's deep into DD wheels era. Games like Raceroom, RF2, iRacing, even though they've been first released long ago, are still actively developed and improved to these days. But games like GTR2, GTL, Race 07? Older Dirt games? TDU2?

Games like GTR are in my opinion ancient these days and I can hardly believe someone is still playing such old Titles. But even if they are played I answered that it is unlikely that DD will run flawless, simply because this technology was not present when these Games were new. Hope I could clarify my point of view.
