To give 6LACK some credit, "Stan" has been used a lot to mean that you really like something/someone (I stan Kendrick Lamar, for example). However, I've always found that absolutely stupid as there were already ways to say that you absolutely love something, and using Stan so casually as a verb is self defeating, as the people using it never mean they are *that* obsessed with something, which begs the question of why reference the song in the first place, because if the song was *just* about a big fan of Eminem, then it wouldn't be noteworthy in the first place. So yeah, 6LACK probably just heard some idiot mis-using the word Stan and copied them for this song. They still deserve some shit for using a term while being ignorant of its origins, but really the bulk of judgement should go towards pop culture for using that word incorrectly in the first place

As a card-carrying bi, the Nicki line comes off as needing a rhyme for "Tell Mike Jordan send me my retros" (a forced rhyme at that). I'm actually okay with the Geppetto line because in the Pinocchio story, he's a poor man whose sole motivation is his passion. I'm even okay with the rhyme "Plus I'm little, where's my stiletto/Tell Mike Jordan send me my retros", but these lines aren't the setup/punchline. It's the second and third lines of a four line rhyme scheme, where "Used to be bi, now I'm just hetero" is the punch line. What does that have to do with being passionate about something despite your living situation or shoe bars? If it's a line for shock value, none of her other bars give off that sense, and the days of "Nicki Minaj being shocking" seem to be behind her, so it's out of place. If Nicki wants to clarify her sexuality, I say go for it, but this isn't the song nor the punchline to do it with. It just sounds at the best intentionally trying to get a rise and at worst intentionally dismissive.

That Wayne line is actually really nice. He can't tell himself that because he's still looking for himself. Uses the language of one person asking a second person to talk to a third distinct person, but the first and the third are one and the same. Not quite sure what's so funny about JL wanting a pedophile to be off of this world in exchange for good people
@urivan96134 жыл бұрын
@@zombieburner5385 He wants a pedophile to be off this world in exchange for another pedophile (Michael Jackson), a convicted criminal (Tupac) and a confessed woman beater (XXXTentacion). Amzing people indeed...

I curious what line it’ll be from ADHD. Something from Devil’s Work? The line from that other song where he says if she doesn’t like him she must be gay? Everything on ADHD? We’ll find out Edit: Devil’s work, not surprised

I was thinking a lightning round of lines from 'Will', but you reminded me of that godforsaken line about girls being gay if they don't like him.

Ummmmmmm......so I just read the lyrics to 'Devil's Work', and wow. This is...loaded. I honestly wouldn't know where to begin. I am eagerly awaiting this video now. More than usual.

Nicholas Tricarico “Take R. Kelly!” “We need MJ back!!” bro what
@nicholastricarico29574 жыл бұрын
@@LESTR97 Yeahhhh....granted, that isn't even the biggest question I have. Mine is, "Why does he spend this entire song accusing God of taking people before their time, when at the end he's going to say, "Oh, this isn't your fault, though. It's the Devil's Work." Kind of undercuts any kind of religious angst you were going for, doesn't it Joyner?

Hey I'm from South Africa and I've been a fan for years, maybe you should do a "thugs need love too" songs segment for a month, that would be cool, #GodBless #MoreLife
