Hey guys! Back with another Fallout 4 Countdown video and today I'm going to be going over some of the best drinks, alcohol, liquour and other liquid consumables in Fallout 4. These are going to be some items you're going to want to keep an eye out for while you're in the wasteland.

It also depends on the alcohol. For example the whiskeys, after they're out of the barrel and into the bottle, do not age anymore.

So a funny story. I was started with Fallout 1 and for some reason, when I read the description for the Nuka Cola, I thought that the game had a set limited amount of Nuka Cola in game. So my playthrough I hoard every bottle, never drinking or selling a single bottle and keeping them with me or in my locker in the BoS base. So because of that, for Fallout Tactics I did the same to the different Nuka Colas, using the troop carriers to move my Cola hoard from base to base. And even in New Vegas I play to hoard as much soda as possible, storing it all in a safe and brewing my own as much as possible. It's just my Fallout Tradition to have a character that seems to worship Nuka Cola and hoards it all.

The appearance of purified drinking water is accurate. I’ve got a few unopened cans from the 60’s. They used mineral water that over time has formed a rock inside the can. Shaking it you can hear it knocking on the sides.

I had a feeling Vim was based off of Moxie. Used to live in Maine and enjoyed Moxie. Most locals loved or hated it, the taste being comparable to licorice or cough syrup. And just like the fictional Vim, it is only available in the New England area.

Nuka victory is my favorite. It may heal you alot slower than nuka quantum, but it heals for alot more. And thats only the ones that come with the DLC. Im not even going to mention all the different ones you can craft

On your purified water entry, you forgot that even the manual water pump, if of course there is more total water than settlers in the settlement, will produce water and allow you to fill empty bottles in survival mode.

you don't have to have a water purifier to get purified water at your settlements. You just need to build a drinking fountain or a sink and use any empty bottle. That is what I do in survival mode

He actually specifies why he considered it rare, It can't be crafted so there's a set amount in the wasteland, if you're wasteful with them drinking all of them in the early game you won't be able to get any more.

Also: In Survival Mode you can refill any bottle from the small water pumps that are the most primitive kind, that you usually build first in any settlement (though they do seem to run out and have to be replaced eventually). Relating to my other post, being parched, thirsty and dehydrated (in survival mode, obviously) also helps to lower your intelligens, triggering idiot savant more frequently.

Purified Water is very common in settlements with a lot of wells and is really spamable so if in need it is a good spam healing item, I'm just saying

My reasoning for the 3 Dirty Water=1 Purified Water is that the Sole Survivor is boiling the water. And since boiling water makes steam, it could be that the three things of Dirty Water are used to counter act the evaporation of most of the water.

Worth noting that the debuffs to intelligence synergise with ideot savant. Some builds can get a lot of value out of both.

The Party Boy/Girl effect of doubling the effects of alcohol goes incredibly well with the Idiot Savant-perk. Doubling the debuff is great - especially with Dirty Wastelanders, which become absolutely great with it - and your savant will trigger much more often.

I did some experimenting and I found that the vanilla Nuka Cola drinks (including Quantum) all seem to be effected by the chemist perk in normal mode - that is, chemist will boost their healing duration and thus how much they heal. Weirdly enough, the effect does not seem to branch over to Newka Cola or Nuka-Free. As I've not started the DLCs on the save I've experimented on this with, I can't say if and how other Nuka Cola drinks or Vim are effected.
