more like lawful neutral. I mean, he never did anything evil. He just stood and waited for bad things to happen. and on a meta-level, according to the Book of Apocalypse, neutral is the worst alignment (because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth). I guess, in context it should matter.
