I don’t think a lot of people know how great a reverse hyper is, or the benefits it has. Reverse hyper is such a great exercise, that damn machine is just so expensive.

Thats funny. Everything you mentioned is what I used the most at my former gym. When I built a garage gym those were the first things I bought minus the reverse hyper. I even bought a rackable cambered bar before a regular barbell because I like that to squat with much better.

I work in a gym that has 50+ trainers and I’ve never seen anyone else use the reverse hyper machine we have. Granted very few clients in the gym are strength athletes and I assume have not seen it’s growing popularity but it kills me that it is literally just a coffee table for everyone in there

I had an RML-6 in the garage as my first quality power rack, then I bought a coupe R-3's once I opened a gym. Honestly, I like the R-3 a whole lot more (maybe because ours are bolted to the floor and connected together with pullup/dirty south bars). We do everything in them and only use the 6 post for benching and plate storage. Now I think the original rack is unnecessarily big and taking up floor space.

I'd use a reverse hyper but the cost to benefit seems insane. When you can get a 45 degree back extension for the same muscles and decompress with dead hangs I just don't want to find the room
@stevenbryson48243 жыл бұрын
I'm with you but I have back problems so I bought the Rogue Westside Reverse Hyper. It's much cheaper than most and folds up so it solved both of the problems I had. It's worked pretty well.

It’s pretty much just a marketing tool, it’ll pay for itself in memberships and PT sign ups. Even if ppl don’t actually use it

@@BaldOmniMan bro sometimes on my warm up set of chins my back clunks from tailbone to T-spine lol
@DensityMatrix13 жыл бұрын
@@BaldOmniMan Not sure about that. I'm not going to go to war with you but the cost-benefit to an older lifter is positive. Let me put it to you this way. When you are are 40+ years old and cannot lift because of disc issue, how much would you be willing to go back in time and pay for a healthier back. One surgery and off-time is going to far exceed the cost of a hyper. The back extension almost always hits my erector spinae and obliques and I get very little SI joint movement and glute max/med involvement. A under utilized variant of the reverse is to do it single leg, that seems to help increase ROM and mobility in me by alot. I have a healthy spine but when I hit 40 I eliminated almost all spinally loaded exercises. I've largely replaced those with: belt squats, reverse-hyper, back extension, sled drags/push and weighted chins, with weight from belt.

Best memory ever of a reverse hyper is when I was first introduced to it. One was sitting outside at the functional training center at SOI on Camp Pendleton MCB. Nobody knew what it was. I asked one of the marines to show me how to use it. He didn’t know. He used it wrong and it cracked him right in the nutts 😂🤣almost peed my pants laughing so hard! Once I figured it out, I used it every day. Made my lower back extremely strong.

I bought myself a titan Cambered bar and I love it since a good majority of the equipment in the gym that I go to is mine safe to say that I believe i’m the only one that uses that bar among other specialty bars that I have that I am the only one that uses a lot of the stuff I have brought into the gym but that’s OK because then people don’t fuck up my shit🤣🤣 I will say I am extremely appreciative that the gym that I go to allows me to bring new equipment in and leave it there
