One note that drove me crazy. I installed a smart switch to control my front porch and the switch was one in a gang of three. When I pulled the existing switches all the white neutrals were tied together as expected. I pulled one the neutral wires and attached it to the new switch. The light blinked on/of every second but would not connect to Wifi. Then I tried another neutral wire and it seemed to work however the next day nothing worked. ONLY when I left all the neutrals tied together and tied the white neutral switch wire into the neutral bundle did everything work as advertised.

Have you noticed that if you set the default brightness very low like say 1% when you turn on the switch it takes several seconds for the light or lights to lit up? Even with the setting of fade on(instant)? If I set the default brightness at 50% or higher then they lit up immediately after pressing the switch. This happens regardless of pressing the switch on the wall or using the app. I have several of the Kasa switches(HS220s and KS220s) and they all behave like this so I think it is normal, but seems strange.
@TopHomeowner Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have noticed that. I figured it was an issue with the LED bulbs... not enough power to get them started... but you're right, it could be the switch itself.

I do this via Alexa as I can group different lights/switchers from different manufacturers together - I can literally say “Alexa turn house lights on” and every light in the house turns on at 100% brightness. For lamps etc you can use the Alexa plug or a smart bulb, but it gives you some great options in terms of home security.

Sounds like the ring camera is getting power through that box.
