niha sharma I used to think I was lazy, but I it’s because I compared myself to “super ambitious” people. The error with this kind of thinking is that most “super ambitious” people, have something to prove, to themselves and to others. They have a low sense of self worth and value, so they constantly need to be “on the go” doing and achieving to feel they have worth and value. Problem is, that doesn’t work!!! Look at Doctors for example. Super over achievers, with a super high suicide rate. My father is a wealthy, overachiever and he is very unhappy. This is very Un-American but...it’s ok to rest and be still. It’s actually very good for you. Problem is for many, you can’t go get attention on fb or instagram posting that you stayed home and took a nap. So much of the content we see on KZbin is NOT highly motivated people. ITS PEOPLE STARVING FOR ATTENTION AND A SENSE OF SELF WORTH. THANK

Understand that what you're dealing with is not laziness. Don't give depression the power to tell you you're other things that you're not. You're not "lazy and depressed", you're simply "depressed". Depression can be very powerful (trust me, I know first hand), but it doesn't have to be something that leaks into every area of your life and gives you all these labels. My depression comes in the form of general apathy. I used to say "I'm a depressed and apathetic person," but that's not actual true. Outside of my down periods, I'm not actually an apathetic individual. It's my depression causing every feelings. So instead, I reframed my thinking to say "My depression sometimes causes apathy." In this way, I'm not giving depression a power to label me as anything that I'm not. I'm also siloing depression in my brain to understand exact what it does to me and when it does it. It's almost like making depression a specific imaginary friend in your brain instead of an all consuming rain cloud over your head.

It’s just hard not to be at phone when the environment of my house is such that everyone is on the phone/computer etc etc, so there is no one yo talk to. But i just need to discipline myself into studying. I just get very frustrated if i spend a lot of time on something, especially if its a hw that i cant be over with or i don’t understand. I could be motivated and all and then get annoyed after it takes too long. Not only hw tho, but generally even being on KZbin for too long annoys me. Idk if that’s some kinda mental condition or smth lmao. But yeah anyways I ll be fine, just need to teach self discipline and time management and not procrastinating. So many friendships broken, broken relationships, etc. Depression, then anxiety, then procrastination, laziness took over. Would spend 2 days without leaving the yard due to social fear. We all need to install the 5 second rule in our lives because we're never going to FEEL LIKE doing many of the things we need to do every day. Count to 5 and get up and do whatever needs doing before the brain has a chance to kick in and stop you. I learned about this yesterday and I know it will work if I can master it. Self discipline is the only way we can get anywhere in this world. And most of us don't have much self discipline going on.

Then this year, I was the only one who passed it with an A. 4 years prior, I've succeeded in becoming full time student at the age of 25. So I went from straight A student to prolonging my study solely because of laziness. I started going back to gym 2 weeks ago and results are there. Got my V taper going, started to stretch my shirts at their upper portions, but I still have a lot of fluff to remove. I’m so sad to the point where sometimes I don’t care what happens to me. I’m afraid I will be homeless as a result of this thinking someday. Lonely without my family, loved ones. Just sad without a care. It’s how I feel now. I’m blessed to have my loved ones. Without them, I’d be somehwere other than here.

Thank you, this really helps me, since laziness is always my biggest enemy. A lot of times I gave up easily when I failed once, but that doesn't mean that I should give up right away since everybody also failed a lot of time, so it's true to believe in myself that I am capable of doing it.

I used to deny that I was lazy, because well my stepfather would raise me to believe, that laziness deserves punishment, and of course sometimes he would actually punish me for it, so for a long time I just was in denial of being lazy, but now I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that I kind of am, and trying to change it.

This is gonna be hard to do... I'm in the first category of laziness and I have a horrible unplanned sleep schedule because one night I don't sleep then next I get a few hours or a lot of sleep then there is my depression which causes me to do this a lot. It's getting in the way of my life but I believe I can do this! I just found out that lack of sleep can cause your brain to EAT itself after learning that my sleep has improved by a lot! Which is a big step for me! What I think happened was I scared myself into a good habit which I am proud of! ☺✨ Now all I need to do now is find times to exercise during the day and I need a well-planned morning and night routine. (Btw This video helped me by a lot, thank you so much!)
