Those pipes are made in PET, because the bottles are made of PET plastic. It is not feasible to directly convert PET into PVC due to their different chemical structures.

Total ignorance here I'll explain. It's impossible to change PET to PVC. It is possible to grind and mix different plastics by using a plastics. PET ( polyethylene tetraphalate)can be mixed with PP ( polypropylene) using a phalate plasticiser. By the way I'm a plastics scientist.​@@patrickellis3205

What we call garbage here is raw material in other countries. The Zabaline in Egypt has been recycling garbage for several centuries. Discarded food is fed to the pigs and goats. Glass bottles are turned into lamps. Metal is turned into cheap utensils. Plastic bottles are grounded and sold to factories that make pipes, skids, etc.

Yes and the quality of pipes made by modern machines are so much better but the clincher is that the machines and technology used to make these pipes so much better costs millions and millions. These pipes are for a completely different market. The cot to make is cheap and the final price is cheap to suit more local markets. Sadly, many countries in the West or at least the upper classes, especially in Europe became mage rich by exploiting these countries in the first place. Shameful.

Plastic drink bottles are made of polyethyleneterephthlate (PET), which is POLYESTER, not PVC. Not even close. They are recycled, but into things like polyester carpet and other products, but not PVC pipe. My former company recycled almost a half billion bottles per year into carpet fiber. But I can assure you it was not done like this, 100% automated.

Assuming the bottles are made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and the caps out of PP (polypropylene) or PE (polyethylene), they cannot be transformed through melting and extrusion to PVC (polyvinyl chloride). These rainpipes are made out of an inferior quality of PET.

This is interesting, but like PVC which will need incorporation of additives during compounding/mixing, we didn't see it in the case of using recycled PET bottles to make pipes. Pls I will love to know more about this. And can this pipe be use for borehole drilling in order to replace PVC pipes?

Great job! Some improvements can be made. A person cutting labels would be more comfortable having a horizontal blade on which they could just slide the bottle. Before the bottles are placed in the bag, they should be stepped on so that they take up less space on the square and fill the bag more. Where the raw material is melted, there should be a fan to remove harmful fumes. Moving wheels and belts need covers to prevent anyone from accidentally injuring their body or dying. Water should be in a closed circuit so as not to use so much of it. Congratulations on the idea and work. I wish you health and peace.
