Here’s me thinking my motorcycle gave the ultimate freedom. However, this , and your other videos have proved me wrong. Chuck your bike on a train and off you go. Perfect. Another cracking video, thanks for taking the time and effort . Nice one.

Thanks very much! I think they are very similar experiences but a different execution. There is even on the road communication with motorcyclist I get from time to time. What do you ride if you don’t mind me asking?

@@MadisonTen Honda CB500x when I have time to get it out of the garage. Which isn’t as much as I would like. I spend more time on my push bike which is a Carerra Vengeance. Just returning to cycling after an awful long time

Nice film. In summer 2019 I spent a weekend in Torbay marina helping friends who live down there run a kids dinghy sailing regatta, when someone at work later asked me "whats it like?" I too replied: That it reminded me of the south of France, I got laughed at! I thought it was a lovely place to be on a sunny weekend. I have been looking in on the Dawlish webcam for years on and off, watching the civil engineering project, that big "Jack legs" platform in the sea was interesting and watching all the building activity at low tide. Not been there since I was a kid but planning to ride from Exeter round to Dawlish at some point, probably next year now.

I've been to the south of France a few times. They're pretty similar, just a bit more gloss and a tax free status for Monaco :) It's amazing that they can build around the tides.

Nice one MT. The water looks so inviting. Did you use the GoPro for the underwater bit? Lots of hills to climb too. I've followed the sea-wall repairs at Dawlish for some time, and agree it'd be a great idea to re-visit there during the winter weather! I filmed in Barry Island this week but left the bike at home this time. Love your piano playing by the way - looking forward to your next one 👍

Thanks! Yes I use the GoPro for underwater as it’s waterproof though recently have bought a waterproof clear cage for it just to be safe. It’s been quite a task for them to repair that sea wall. I watched a lightning storm on the Dawlish webcam last winter though I’m not sure if that webcam is running at the moment. Hope you had a great time down the Island. They keep the beach so nice these days.

Ah that's interesting. I use a GoPro too, but was dubious about how waterproof it really is. Hopefully I'll not drop it in a canal though! (when/if Gladys is ever completed!). Yeah, Barry was looking great - very clean. I'd not been there for years and it brought back many memories.
@MadisonTen Жыл бұрын
That is always the problem, might be waterproof but if dropped in murky waters... 😃
@Gladysthenarrowboat Жыл бұрын
yes indeed... and canal water is usually very murky☹ . Not sure a GoPro would float, or sink, but either way, it'd be a challenge recovering it!
@MadisonTen Жыл бұрын
It would sink, but if you have it in one of the water proof cases you might be able to tie some fishing cord to it and have that as a back up recovery in case it was dropped?
