The Russian military uses the bars company as a standard issue for some special units. It is also tried and tested, and is currently being used in the Ukraine war by the pro-Russian separatist, "you can see them in action on You tube. I have the (bars) Gorka 3 and Gorka 4 and they are durable and work very well against light rain. they are impregnated with something to repel water but they are not waterproof. Just to let you know from experience, wash them in cold water and stay away from detergents, these will fade and discolor. Sposn SSO, another Russian manufacturer of Gorka's make a better quality suit and they do not fade even when washed in detergents. The fabric on the SSO is woven tighter, and the dye used holds up great without fading. Great video..

How water resistant, and can I waterproof them with some spray on/rub on canvas water proofer? I am getting back into paintball and fall/winter is coming fast for the Pacific North West of the US, it gets pretty damp out this way and I'm looking for something I can lay and run through water logged foliage in without getting totally soaked in 45-55 degree weather.

I’ve got a 4 that I got off Etsy and another one coming from grey-line. They’re bad ass. Way more versatile than the jungles and BDUs I had when I was in. Tougher too.

Hahaha. great review. I knew you would get one to review since we last talked. I've placed my order for a 60-5 and should be receiving it at the end of July, now I just can't wait. One thing I was not aware of, it not having the inner pant leg that tucks in your boots tic trap, I was under the understanding that the Gorka 3 and 4 pants were designed the same having that inner pant leg.

It’s even better than I thought, I’m glad I got one, now I want more lol. Yeah man, I’d like it to have that inner leg cuff, not sure why the 4’s don’t have it, but since you wear it over pants anyways, I guess you just tuck your inner pants into your boots, that’ll work the same. You won’t be disappointed in yours. It’s a great piece of gear brother!

It’ll work good, but it’ll be hot. Unless you get a Gorka suit made from lighter materials, these are made from heavy canvas.

I’m 6’1” (185cm) and 225 I’ve got a 60-6 it’s plenty big enough to layer under in winter and not so big in the warmer seasons to be bulky.

I stil have my Gorka 4 and i had it for many years and its stil in the same condition stil warm and confterbule.but i would like to have the bBlack Gorka 1 or newer ..and i live in sweden where the vinter can get very cold but this uniform you dont feal any cold its like its made for our cold vinter ...to bad our own M90 uniform is from the same material then we would not feal so cold in them...of course you put some extra clothes under but not to compare whit the Gorka where you almost can use only a Tshirt under.....I use to be a uniform collector i stil have many left most from French foreign legion i have the new British uniform but i wish i never sold my DPM uniform the British old uniform i like that uniform so much so maybe i buy that uniform again....i have a Russian vinter uniform a white. well and many more even a complett M59 our Green old system of uniform but its nice in a way to have everything in that collection from helmer to well every thing....i have a lot of back pack i have cantines to much to write here then i would make a comment long as a book..L.O.L....But my Gorka stays whit me and our cold vinter...Sorry for bad gramma and speling...:)

Just wanted to ask since most of my stuff are ranger green and I’ve been thinking about getting a gorka…is you cap/hat ranger green as well?

It is a green, they call it OD green, but it’s a lighter green. The Gorka in this video is a khaki greenish color, both will work with the ranger green and these will complement each other very well.

It honestly doesn’t look like OD to me but I understand cameras and youtube changes colors a lot…plus our perspective on colors and shades can be extremely subjective at times too but thank you for your response! There not a lot of pictures where the gorka is paired with ranger green online

Typical of the Russian philosophy, these suits are made from cheap materials and deemed "good enough". They will probably work a lot better in dry, Russian winters than in wet, humid conditions, where military gore-tex is a much better choice.
