Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

I've gone through all of your "intro" videos over the past couple of weeks and was inspired to dive right in. The orders are starting to come in and I was able to do a couple of the 4" AI swim baits this afternoon as a test run. Still more orders on the way (pretty much ordered a few more things with every new video I watched), but I even gleaned a couple more suggestions from this one. I can attest that this 2.0 was a perfect summation of all your previous demos and will likely inspire many more converts like me. Well done, sir.

Hey guys! I’m 15 and have my own recycled fishing lure business. I’m currently driving home from the ER after getting 3rd and 2nd degree burns from some hot plastic splashing into my hand. Definitely some of the worst pain over ever felt, I can’t stress enough the importance of PPE. If I was simply wearing my gloves the burns would’ve been severely less. If you’re just getting into bait making, invest in some good PPE, you’ll thank yourself in the long run. There’s no such thing as too safe, learned that lesson tonight.

I have a couple doit molds. They're not cnc quality but all baits shine when wet! Simply spray them with high temperature engine paint (I use clear) and you'll get a much nicer finish, or you can always clear coat them. I agree cnc molds are a better finish straight from the mold!

Have learned in a very short amount of time that putting your cup on a scale and hitting the tare button before adding color and flake is fantastic for exact formulas. Found mine for a buck at a garage sale and it weighs out to .01 of a gram
@WorldsWorstFishing
@WorldsWorstFishing 3 жыл бұрын
Yes if you really really want exact formulas you can even way out your colorant and get exact weight ratios.. I can tell you from many years of experience that slight variations in formula are completely indistinguishable.. being precise is a good thing but I definitely do not think anyone needs to go to that sort of trouble, measure out equal amounts and add equal amount of drops and scoops of flake. Will save a lot of time when efficiency becomes important.

What happens if you mix your color and flake into the plastic before you heat it in the microwave? It just seems like it would be easy to mix in the color when the plastic is liquid and not have to stir or mess with a hot cup of plastic when mixing colors.

It works well that way however you cannot see your formula when the plastic is raw.. I like to add it to cooked plastic so I can see the color building process and not add too much

@@WorldsWorstFishing So if I had a formula that I was familiar with and added it to the cold plastic then heated it up I would get the same result? Also would the quality of the plastic be better if it went through one less microwave heat cycle? If you were trying to create a new color I can see where heating it first would be an advantage though.

@@aarondavis8224 in my opinion your color turns out better when added to cooked plastic, that is less exposure the glitter has to the microwave. I see absolutely no advantages to adding your color before cooking.

What would you recommend for 5inch and 8inch swim baits used for inshore saltwater? The saltwater mix or the swim bait mix?

Been using the 6 inch open pour swimbait to learn. Sometimes the top sinks in a lot as it cools. Is that due to not de-gassing the plastisol (using dead on craw tube)?
@WorldsWorstFishing
@WorldsWorstFishing 3 жыл бұрын
no, its due to cooling plastic, HEAT the mold as you are pouring.

10 drops in the bags after baits are made..never add to hot plastic..scent will burn off

@@WorldsWorstFishing I disagree with this. I just ordered some from upperhandscents and he specifically said poor in scent right before you inject into your molds to minimize burn off, but Chris your hard stance isn't good on this topic, you should be more understanding of the facts regarding when scent can be added and still maintain it's potency. adding to both the bag and into hot plastic before injecting will get er done

@@jesseshumaker2718 agree to disagree...in my experience over many years and talking with the most talented experienced bait makers in the game, the overwhelming consensus is it's best to add scent to finished baits. It will still work in hot plastic, but the longer it stays in hot plastic the weaker it becomes..idk a single bait makers adding scent oil to hot plastic before shooting.

@@WorldsWorstFishing Yah, so it's kinda a grey area. I think this deserves a video :), although scent is hard to prove on a video lol. So if placing the baits into cold water will this hurt the absorbtion rate after they are added to the plastic bag with the scent? how long do you leave them in the cold water?
