You are the one of very few on KZbin that understands active stretch...most get it wrong. Maybe because you are a dancer and you need a warm up not burpees and a stretch to help the body get loose. It is an art and you have it down. I feel so much better. Energized and fluid.

Can’t wait to do more tomorrow, I’m really hoping I see more flexibility come from these as my progress is quite slow with yoga xxx

Dear Alessia, thanks for this stretching routine ! I am a complete beginner concerning the stretching, and I do not feel very comfurtable with all the exercizes you're proposing yet, but I am trying to do it, at my tempo, anyway, hoping it will get better ! However, I have a question concerning the last exercize of the routine, when the legs are crossed : I cannot do it at all, it's impossible for me to put my legs in a position approaching yours ! Have you a suggestion to achieve this position by other exercizes, or to do another one in the while ? Thanks to you ! Martin

Hi Alyssa! I was just wondering, does this routine constitute a warm-up in itself or should it follow the warmup routine in another one of your videos? I'm just concerned about pulling a muscle and whether a prior warmup sequence is recommended before this active stretching routine. I love your videos - keep up the good work!
@lazydancertips7 жыл бұрын
Hello Zubaidah, thank you for your message! Yes you can jump straight into it as i get you to warm up throughout the video, but if you want to get your body extra chewy, you can do a quick warm up or go for a run before hand. I've linked up a couple of videos that you can do to get your blood flowing very quickly. lazydancertips.com/workout/swan-lake-fitness/ lazydancertips.com/workout/active-warm-up/ hope it helps Ciao Alessia :)

This might be nice in an evening after doing some bit, but for a morning after your active warm up, going straight into those wide stances for so long... I don't think so good! Not for me at the moment anyway,... I think I'll revert to my standard pre-kickbag morning session and come back to this again.
@lazydancertips8 жыл бұрын
Hello again! Yes maybe try to take it slowly and don't push it too much. You mentioned an old injury in another comment so make sure you listen to your body and when it tells you to stop then it's time for a hot bath! One step at the time and change exercises to suit your needs, some of these are for young dancers that would like to improve their technique, and if you see something that for you it's a bit over the top please skip it :) . As mentioned before let me know if there is anything in particular i can help you with,i'd be more than happy to video something to suit your needs ! Ciao Alessia :)

How true is the saying that a stretch needs to be at least 16 seconds to work? I’ve even heard 30 seconds. Thoughts? Not being critical of your videos at all; I love them! Just wondering if I need to pause to reach those 16 (or 30 seconds) or if that’s all bologna lol
@lazydancertips6 жыл бұрын
Yolette, fair question! I always say it depends on how your body feels and how intense it is. Holding a position for too long is not the best thing. I personally like actively moving and stretching rather than a static position as for my body it's like working a dough and your muscles keep warm too. Stretching is a very personal thing and you'll soon learn what your body needs. :) Hope this helps :) Love Alessia
