All FACTS! DAVE, just subscribed to "help the tribe." What is the length of a good workout with the bands? I lost almost 80 lbs walking 2-3 miles a day over the course of many years, (from almost 300 lbs down to 200s now) Im 6-1 and the arms are flapping in the breeze. I just got the bands with the door ring so I don't get slapped in the back of the neck like Mrs Disciplined Dave. Like the previous post said, no need for a gym membership!

Dave, I just found your channel. I LOVE IT! I am 51 years old. Just had my 2nd cervical spine surgery. I am fused from T1-C4 and L4-L5. I have been in pain most of my life. Just had my last surgery 4-13-20, I was going to physical therapy for 16 weeks and I only had relief while I was at the therapy office. At the end of the 16 weeks they reevaluated me and my pain level is the same as it was 16 weeks ago. I am out of work on short term disability trying to fix my body and see if I can for one day, just one day be pain free! I purchased these Aapozz bands on Amazon hoping that it could help me loose weight. I don't want to go to a gym during this COVID virus, and I cant afford an exercise machine. I just stumbled on your video searching on youtube for how to use these bands. So glad I found your site. I will have to use the very light weight bands for a while due to arm weakness in both arms from my surgery. I don't know if I will ever be able to do any heavy weight, I used to be so fit in my 20's I could bench 185 my exact weight but that was back in 1993! I have been gaining weight like CRAZY! Being stuck in this house and its so hot outside cant go for walks! About a month ago I weighed myself and I was 282lbs I must be 300lbs by now. I am to scared to look at the scale. Starting tomorrow I am going to follow your videos so please keep them coming and do you have any videos for people who cant lift that much weight? Also I cant look up, my fusion stops my head from looking up,right&left I can move my head but only like 10 degrees each way. But looking up in a tree to see a bird....NO WAY! Thanks for the AWESOME videos! RENMAN
@DisciplineDave4 жыл бұрын
Wow what a story, I promise you I will keep the videos coming. you can use these bands with very light weight or resistance. A lot of people think that I lift heavy weight but I don’t I use bands and or cables with light weight with great technique and trust me no matter your strength level you will find it very challenging and see your body change for the better. Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate you as a viewer.

Thank you, sir. This may be the best all around band video for a full body workout I've seen. Your use of the door attachment for many of the exercises has taken my workout to a different level. I've been an advocate of Super Slow Training for 30+ years and this is perfect. A full body workout in less than 30 minutes, 3 times a week. One set of 10 reps on a 10 second up and 5 second down sequence with no rest in between. I will be sharing this with my son, who I encouraged to start using bands about a year ago.

I have dumbbells, a barbell and these resistance bands and must say that I prefer the bands. More flexible and amazing exercising and I actually sometimes feel muscle tension more for some body parts than I do with barbells. Perfect and very cheap alternative to barbells and really builds muscles. Also the risk of injury is much lower because the resistance will not allow you to go to much beyond your limits.

Can't believe I found this video only now... this is exactly what I was looking for for my lockdown exercises at home. Liked and subscribed! One question Dave... I've been using 2 sets of bands in combination for the last few weeks and despite being still in the advanced beginners category in terms of building muscles, I keep adding band after band for exercises and start to hit the limit of available bands. I presume I'm doing something wrong there. Do you have any advise? Thanks :-)
@DisciplineDave4 жыл бұрын
First of all, thank you for watching I really appreciate the sub. Now to answer your question to get more resistance out of your bands you need to stretch it more, but every band has a “linear stretch limit.” If you’re reaching the limit, recently I found that high-quality loop bands have a better linear limit than the ones with handles. But I don’t think one is better than the other they all have their benefits if you want to continue using the bands you have now you can increase your repetition or go very slowly to have more “time under tension” and believe me it will really work you out hard hope this answers your question thanks again for watching.
@stephan1884 жыл бұрын
@@DisciplineDave Thank you very much for the reply. @DisciplineDave4 жыл бұрын
When using bands I find it more effective to use high repetition with good form, so I would recommend 3 sets of 15 for each exercise. However If you have the bands where you can add multiple for more resistance go heavy (still good form) 3 sets for 6-8. Hope this helps!

Hey man I feel with bands it's better to do full body 3x a week. Not enough resistance for a bro split. Just my opinion though. 4 set 3 x a week = 12 total set a week. Which is optimal when studies show 10-20 sets a week per body part. It's also optimal to train same body part twice a week. In a gym I'm able to get away with bro split being on HRT but with bands it's a different story. Edit: nevermind just realized you have full body Saturday 🤦♂️

Hey Dave! Do you have a beginner/intermediate/advanced training guide or regimen? And how do you split these workouts?
@DisciplineDave4 жыл бұрын
Total body for a month 3 days a week 3 sets of 15-20 reps for each exercise. And then switch to splits (2 body parts per day) 5 days a week 3 sets of 15-20 reps. Hope this helps
@ShinyMusic2223 жыл бұрын
@@DisciplineDave As much as 15-20 reps/exercise, for beginner? I'm mainly looking to get stronger as a female, for everyday life, and increase muscle mass for higher calorie requirements/day (for weightloss, combined with diet ofcourse). I like your videos but confused on how to put together a program ;D

The bundle will definitely be on my birthday/Christmas wish list I’ll be giving to my wife this year!!! I was going to order just the trimmer but when this came out there is no need especially when I cut at home more often than going to the barber. It’s going to be my go to barber tools for my myself and my son’s cuts moving forward.

Never thought about putting the door stopper on the side of the door...always only used the top and bottom. Thanks. I see people asking about reps and sets. Each person is different, so 3 or 4 sets may good for one person, but you may need 4 or 5 sets. Same things go with Reps. Dave can give you a baseline, but You're the only one that knows your body. Sometimes if like an exercise and it feels good...I may do 6 sets of it. Listen to your body would be my best advice. Question: I saw you doing the Triceps pulldowns without bending your elbows. What is the reason for that? It seems like you only worked the Triceps at the end of the movement, but it seemed like you were working the Teres muscles, the upper Lats, and the Infraspinatus muscle. Question: Working the upper chest, I saw you do what I thought was overhead presses for the Delts, but I see that you're arms are angled slightly to hit the upper chest. Is that way better to hit the upper chest as opposed to holding your hands out by your side in a supinated position and then bringing your hands up to meet above your head? Doing either seems like it's going to involve one of the Delt muscles, but I was wondering which targeted the chest better?

The first tricep exercise is working more of your lats by keeping your arms straight . Keep arms tight to your side then push your arms down to work both heads of the tricep .
