Adorable apartment! Julianna is so right about the temporary rental comment. I've rented and owned homes and because of life and all its little surprises I have found that you need to truly live in the space you are in. She has rented for 5 years...the longest I lived in a home that I owned and fixed up for myself was 6 years. Bloom where you are planted!!!

I appreciate that this apartment looks so elegant and proper on the surface but is full of humorous moments and lighthearted style. I felt the part about her favorite pillow having pride of place on the bed and the mounds of pretty fluff spread across her couch. (Throw pillows are my love language.) Delightful apartment. It doesn’t look cluttered and the storage solutions are perfectly suited to the limited floorplan. My only suggestion is: begin the tour at the entrance and proceed in the order the rooms/spaces are found.

I to rent and I to make that home my own. My landlord is gracious and allowing me to fix things up. It had oak cabinets and I wanted them to be white, so I asked her if I could paint them, and although she was very fond of Oak because she’s 80, After living there four years, she came in one day and saw a white hutch that I had purchased from Habitat for Humanity and painted it white with black knobs. She said oh Brenda, this hutch would look nice if the cabinets were all white wouldn’t it? I said are you saying I can paint the cabinets white? And she said let me give it some thought and I promise to get back with you. so she asked her kids they agreed it was OK and I painted them white and they look phenomenal. We put new ceiling tiles in the ceiling in the kitchen unfortunately it’s a very old home and has ceiling tiles so we updated that. The kitchen now looks bigger and brighter and I love it! We do have to work with what we have, but we can have a home that looks like us as well! Your apartment is charming! Congratulations you rocked it out

. My sister had a just like that, but hers was a Thomasville dresser and that dresser lasted her 32 years she recently got a new set.😊 it look like that shape like that everything the color was different because I remember we used to sit on top of it as little girls

Inherited a handsome 9pc Thomasville bedroom matched set in a dark wood finish from my parents. Normally, dark wood can strike me as rather depressing😔, but this warm brown w/tiny black speckles has seriously grown on me. 🎉Yay!🎉. The style is an interesting cross between elegant 🌐Japanese & British Campaign (circa 1700-1900) w/the brass pulls & accents. So, it lends itself to some clever adaption of old world flair meets modern new world. Kinda like the moody, masculine French artsy bohemian style where it meets rustic country (circa 1890s). It seems far more inviting & appealing to me than the fussy, feminine ultra glam Parisian style. The simple boxy high canopy bed of this set is the MOST sturdy & comfortable bed that I have EVER slept in my entire life😴💤. And, the tall dresser chests corrall all my folded clothes👕. ❤️‍🔥Know that designers passionately hate🤬 matchy match furnishings, but the simplicity & the functionality of these pieces have won me over time. Think the set would be charming spread over a studio or smaller apt (which will likely be my next destination). 🤔It takes skill to make eclectic pieces (stained wood or even painted) to blend beautifully all together like in this charming apt. Too many mismatched furniture pieces, esp. in a tiny footprint, can often strike me as busy & feel like sad goodwill cast-offs😳. Saw an earlier makeover of a 220sq apt & the stylist used a wide variety of light & dark wood pieces. While everything offered great storage & multi-purpose, it just looked like a confusing hodge podge. 🧐Don't know what I wanna do yet, but I definitely don't want to replicate that either 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Cute space. The modern touches keep the "old lady" factor low, but I'd be inclined to let the walls explode with framed art and photos that make you happy and express your personality. I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment that you should love your space, not matter how "temporary". The way rent is skyrocketing, everywhere, the more you love your space (and keep developing its style and functionality), the longer you'll stay.

Looked way better with the seating area by the windows (why would you put a bed there?). You could also place a white-painted or rattan screen to hide the bed from the rest of the space: that would look great. A lovely apartment using recycled items which is a credit to her - no use buying new when you can get it for a fraction of the price. Great job.
