In my eyes he either wins or lose La Vuelta on stage 17 on Alto de l'Angliru Jonas will win La Vuelta If Sepp has a bad day on this stage. But Sepp will win if he can follow the other opponents 🙆🏼‍♀️

Just gotta hope that the team support his efforts and that the others don’t decide they want it too. I’ve already seen Sepp cover some moves that a leader shouldn’t have to. Force of habit perhaps, but Jonás and Primoz should be doing that for him. Also, Will Jumbo want another tour winner on the books when it comes to new contracts? We’re pulling for ya Sepp. You deserve it and you’re riding brilliantly. Vamos!

If jonas or primoz tromps on him rather than supporting in the last few stages, they would be crucified by the fans and thus probably would not bode well with sponsors. He is the race leader and in a role at this point to be supported. Would Jonas or primoz give him a bike if needed for example. Is that gifting or sportsmanship and respecting his position.

They won’t. That would be the dirtiest most unsportsmanlike move ever and neither of them has it in them to screw a teammate like that. But he will have to keep up with the rest.

@@antoniodelrio1292 Yes and Wout gifted Gent-Wevelgem to Laporte this year. If either of the two tries to screw Sepp he will have to have a word with Wout, who is the big man in the team and that won’t be nice. Not even mentioning they will ruin their reputation with the fans. But that won’t happen. It is however up to Sepp to keep up. If he can’t equal Mas,Landa,Soler and Ayusso it is game on for Jonas and Primoz

Sepp is a super nice guy,great athelete and with a very elegant way to read the race,im Portuguese but Sepp is my favorite rider to win,Almeida despite being a warrior and a good timetrial rider its not at Kuss level in the mountains.

It's up to Sepp... and I think his "low stress" style as domestique is a benefit for winning. Angliru? Will some inconsequent breakaway win that stage by several minutes, or will a threatening breakaway draw the GC peleton closer (in time)? Or (3rd) will an epic GC battle shuffle the standings? he has fewer race days than a lot of other guys in the field. he specializes in grand tours and races pretty much only the grand tours. his training routine is just endurance and climbing. he's a specialist, just like the best sprinters in the world are sprint specialists for example
