I'm so glad you don't edit out your "mistakes" or real time decision making because that really shows us possible road blocks and/or options. A lot of people seem to be nervous to be realistic online because if someone makes fun of your "character" its easier to take than if you're being yourself and hear negativity about it, but it's those honest, true-to-self creators I relate to more & enjoy watching most. It's not always easy to put your "short comings" online (no matter how trivial) but then we not only can't learn from you as much, but it leaves us feeling so inadequate in comparison if you're always so perfect! I hope this came across correctly and how I intended, but I really do appreciate it and feel comfortable speaking for the rest of your audience as well! ❤

Love this video! This is exactly the format I drew up in July 2018, and I've stuck with it ever since! Dutch door for the whole month with my sleep and mood trackers at the bottom. That way, I don't have to draw them for every week, and I can see the month's sleep/mood patterns at a glance.

You could just draw the boxes as normal but leave the titles until you use the box. That way, if you don't need that box that week, at the end of the week you can do a quote, doodle, week highlight... whatever.

If you paste all of the cut ones down, you wont have the growing gap between sections that make you have to alternate.
@SarahLewis20055 жыл бұрын
When you paste down the last strip (when it is on the bottom) you could always not paste the top and it could be an extra pocket related to that month.
@yvonnechiang58745 жыл бұрын
For the side tabs, they tend to get flimsy and floppy if they're so little. Here's an alternative... Just like you didn't need to do any cutting for the last tab, you could also cut just the bottom bit for the 2nd-last tab. And then just a bit more for the next tab. So you'd cut the most for the front tab, but less and less for each tab behind it. Because they lay over each other.
@rachelmaloney22545 жыл бұрын
Yvonne Chiang I thought the same thing! She wouldn’t be able to outline the tabs then though would she? Or would you just draw them on?

Take one of those slips of journal pages that you cut out and make a bujo ruler. Just number the dots or spaces (which ever your brain works) and next time you do a layout you won't have to count! 💝☀🌵
@bandlover38905 жыл бұрын
21:30 I bet it had been said already but if you simply buy a metric ruler with centimeters you won't have to count any dots as they are usually 0.5 centimeters apart. I know especially Americans find it very confusing switching back and forth between inches and centimeters but once when you get used to them it's so helpful when bullet journaling

Maybe you can keep the next week and notes boxes and if you don’t use them by the end of the week put what your hopes/intentions are for next week and just a little note on the past week in those sections respectively.

for the tabs if you cut little triangles in it might be a sturdier if you find the tabs are tearing. you can either have one less cutout in each subsequent page, or you can have them all have the same number of cutouts except the one in their "spot" so you can flip to the others from any page. ps your laugh is awesome

You could use the blank space above the first tab to write the 4-10 since you'll see that when you're on that page, and work your way down, the opposite of how you did the heart on the actual page for the gratitude page. I know you already finished it, but maybe for next time.

Could you use that double-sided sticky tape to stick all the habit tracker tabs to each other, so that you don't need to do any cutting near the spine of your book (there would just be one horizontal cut on each weekly page)? Or would that make the final page, where the tabs are all stuck down, too thick and awkward? (ETA: my hand is not as steady as yours and I am worried I will nick the spine and loosen the pages.) I am new to bullet journaling and am so glad to have found your channel! Your videos are great.. thanks for your time and expertise 💖

What if instead of two separate boxes for notes and next week, you just have them in one? Because surely if it's part of your schedule, the event can go on your calendar rather than a box, where as if it's a task to do next week it could be classed as a note for next week? If you remove the notes section completely, and end up using your task space completely, you could always attach a notes flap with washi tape. You could put it to the right of the tasks, and you could use the part of the page you cut off to make the Dutch door to make the flap. Love the modifications you made to your system for this month's set up. I am going to shamelessly copy it for my November :) *Several hours later* I cut my tabs, and I decided to write the week I am looking at on the "backs" of the tabs, rather than the previous week. Of course I decided that after I wrote the weeks the way you did on all the tabs ha. How are you handling page numbers?
@bunniphish5 жыл бұрын
Also, since you consistently set up your weekday spread the same way, couldn't you set up that portion of the month all at once and do away with the "next week" box except for the last week of the month? I know you like to be able to change up layouts, but at most you would only be committing to a layout for five weeks, and you already know you like this one.

Gators and Wolverines? Y'all have some serious predation going on. :D Edited to add: there's no such thing as an excessive ruler. Edited to add: differing opinions? Isn't a bullet journal *exactly* what you make of it? Like, that's the whole point?
@elealion14694 жыл бұрын
I know I'm commenting a 1 yo video, but maybe someone else has the dilemma with the notes section (whether to have it or not). Why not keep a few cute post its at the back of the notebook for the occasion you really need to jot something down and use it on such occasions only? You can then put them in any week you need and if you do not like how the spread looks like with it, just get rid of it once it's not necessary. I think it is a waste to keep preparing a notes section if you hardly ever use it. With post its you can move them around without any damage to your journal. IDK, I'm just a really big fan of post it notes and sometimes I feel they're a bit underrated.
