Really enjoying visiting these places vicariously. Although I think there's something intrinsic to humans that makes us feel happy on the edge of the land. Something ancient and maybe something like feeling safe at the shoreline. Beautiful aerial shots, thanks!

So glad to hear you are enjoying them 😊 yeah you’re right there sure is something special about being in the shoreline. Yeah it’s awe inspiring seeing the power of the ocean against the ruggedness of the rocks all whilst safely on land 😊.

Thank you for appreciating Dartmoor (living in Plymouth spend all our free time up there ) and our wonderful cornish coastline again an area we visit often. Wow the light over St Michaels mount

That’s so nice to have Dartmoor so accessible -must be great to able to relax there whenever you can 😊. Yeah the coastline is spectacular too -a really special place to live. Such a treat to be able to see the sun setting on the mount, so glad we got there in time as it would have been a shame to have missed it. Thanks for watching. 😊

Thanks for sharing - great episode. The last time I visited Lizard point was to watch the total solar eclipse back in 1999…I’m sure you can imagine how spectacular it was in a location like this.

Always lovely to see your home county through the eyes of visitors. Beautifully filmed as ever and I was so glad to see you visiting Portloe, you actually passed my house as you approached Portloe! Sadly I presume you missed the opportunity to cross the Fal river on the King Harry ferry (as I’m sure you would have shown it otherwise) as you went from Portloe down to Lizard point. I think you discovered that it can take much longer than you think to get around Cornwall! You really should come back again and spend longer here as there are so many beautiful spots to linger and drink in the wonderful scenery. I do hope you also had the chance to checkout the Minack theatre while you were at Lands End and ride the North coast road from St Just to St Ives but I’ll find out in the next episode 😊
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
Yeah really nice to be visiting all the areas of our home country that we haven't seen before. Oh wow -bet you never expected to see your house on these videos =) -shame you weren't in the garden 😊. Portloe is such a beautiful place -what a place to live! Yeah there are only so many hours in the day and the purpose of this tour was to cover the UK in general and not just one specific area, but great to know where to come back to with more time. Yeah we knew about the theatre but figured if we are going to go to it we would prefer to take in a show, so again something to look forwards to in the future. The full routes of each day can be found in the first pinned comment.

Lizard Point is the most southerly, as Dunnet Head is the most northernly point of mainland UK. Lands End to John O'Groats is just the furthest separate points of the mainland UK. Great watching your adventures! :)
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
Hi, so glad we visited Lizards point -we actually enjoyed it more than Lands End. It's funny how the most northernly and southerly points are not actually the most famous lol. Not that it matters but i wonder how many have gone Lands End to John O'Groats thinking then are the most Northern and Southernly points. Great to hear you are enjoying the series! Sean and Emily
@reinmansmith4 ай бұрын
@@SeanandEmily funnily enough Lands End is not the most Westerly point. That is actually Ardnamurchan Point on the West Coast of Scotland. I think the Lands End to John O’Groats route came about as the longest route between two points on mainland UK
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
ah okay so just the most westerly point of mainland England - i think we need a refund from lands end 😂

You were in my neck of the woods! I hadn't realised a lot of our place names were so difficult to pronounce. I'm at the point of you talking about an island that looks like Mont St. Michel... That'll be St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall then 😅
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
What a great place you live! 😎👍🏻 Hehe yeah surprised us too lol ….and we are from Wales 🤣. We should probably slow down a bit when riding past the place names. Funny actually we didn’t realise it was twinned with Mont St Michel, in fact it was one of the most pleasant surprises of the trip -beautiful place to watch the sun go down 👍🏻

Just wait for this weekends episodes (especially Sundays) we actually were flabbergasted ourselves lol 😂. Thanks for showing us a part of the UK we have never been too, ABSOLUTELY loved Lizard Point and Portloe, it is places like that those that are hidden gems, away from the overrun touristy spots. There is just something magical about coastline like those. We are enjoying the UK tour immense so far. Anxious to see the upcoming episodes.

Hi John, You're very welcome. There's really so many places to see that we hoped we could share some new places with people. Yeah totally agree with you and we are so glad these places still exist -it's good that they are not easy to get to. Lizard point was really nice and a great alternative to lands end. Yeah the ruggedness of the coastline and the power of the ocean are incredible. Really glad you are enjoying the series so far and we have so many more amazing places to share. Thanks for your comment and encouraging words 😎👍

This is quite funny for me as you are both touring around Cornwall which is my neck of the woods. I left 2 weeks ago and on a European tour myself in Switzerland at the moment. My first time here and I have been blown away by the scenery and the amazing passes. I wont be returning to the UK for some time 😂
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
Hi Matt, haha yeah we finally got around to touring our home country as it's something we had been meaning to do for a long time. We hope your tour is going well and hopefully things will be brightening up next week. Yeah the scenery here in Switzerland is spectacular and the passes are like none other with near perfect road surfaces (when there isn't a giant rock fall that is lol). Will you be heading to BMW Days this weekend? -it's not too far form Switzerland.

Lands End is a bit tacky and very commercial. They won’t let you just ride up to the sign and take photos unless you let their so called official photographer take a photo first so they can charge you for the privilege. Contrast that with John O’Groats up in Bonny Scotland where you can literally just ride up to the sign and take photos to your hearts content 👍
@SeanandEmily4 ай бұрын
Yeah totally agree with you there! We were not expecting a mini theme park to greet us at this landmark. Yeah the fact that the take the standard sign down each day and then charge for the other one is sad - just let people have a little photo on their phones at least. We will be at John O'Groats later on in the series 😎👍
