I am American. I stayed in Anjuna 4 months, and absolutely love that place. Travelled to Mapusa, Panjim, Siolim, lots of lovely places and made friends with people and also nice dogs, haha. I noticed some domestic tourists behaving disrespectfully, drinking on the beach and discarding glass bottles on the beach and even throwing them into the water. My wife and I every morning would go to the beach and pick up the glass so nobody would be cut. I could not understand this. Anyway, I love and respect Goa and hope to return soon.

But (at 10 mins into the video) an educated person (who is supposedly "working as Police Sub Inspector in Mumbai crime branch") claims he "paid Rs.3000 for accommodation, chicken, mutton, beer, drinks" ... seriously? Where in India are you going to get Accommodation, Chicken, Mutton, Beer and Drinks for Rs.3000, that too on a boat ride? A sub Inspector in crime branch is in the habit of just paying whatever people ask him without reading a huge 7 foot sign-board right in front of his face? The pregnant lady says she paid Rs.1100 ... if they are that unintelligent in not being able to read a clearly displayed sign-board, how do they even travel?

Marky Mairs Goa is a very safe place and a great place to holiday. But make sure you book from reputable travel agencies who are in your country or those who are Goan ... there are lots of touts who are not from Goa and they cheat people. But since you posted your query on this video, let me mention the following about this video: More than 5 million tourists come to Goa each year and all of them go back with great memories ... you will meet many tourists who have been visiting Goa year after year - but we also get some undesirable tourists in Goa who dirty the place and expect everything for peanuts. Hey bro, go bindhast. Goa is very safe. Follow traffic rules. Some people from outside goa are settled there. They could cheat you otherwise nobody cheat u. Book ur hotel from genuine site. And enjoy goa with watersports, discos, casinos and by travelling across the beautiful Goa

Absolutely Goa is safe. In the US you could get shot or jumped at any time but not in Goa. Goa is like Bali. You have direct flights from the UK to Goa. In our neighborhood in North Goa, we have an Italian woman in her late 30s, I see her walking home at midnight after going for a late dinner. I can see her from far walking on the street from my balcony because of her blonde hair which she styles it in a big bun on her head. She lives alone as her husband works in the Middle East and she prefers to live in Goa. Her husband first brought her to Goa to propose to her and she fell in love with the place. She goes back to Italy for 3 months and she spends 9 months in India. Brad Pitt and Angelina were in Goa some years back when they were a couple. It was surprising to see Brad ride a rented bike all over Goa. This is the perfect time to go to Goa. With the Christmas and New Year spent watching fireworks on the beach. Lots of live music on the beach at the different shacks. You can find the best food to eat in Goa with a wide selection of foods. You can pick what seafood they have available at the beach shack and they will cook it for you to your liking. The beaches up North is where the original Flower People found their paradise and stayed behind in Goa. The Beetles also came to Goa. They have Alternative medicine clinics where you can get some great massages. The shacks also play electronic dance music, some have their own DJs. There are lots of party style events going on at different locations. This is the season for that party style atmosphere, so this is the best time to be in Goa. You want to live in North Goa if you are looking into the Electronic dance music. These side excursions do not have much to offer so avoid them. Choose a place very close to the beach as that is where all the restaurants and night life is happening. That way you can just walk. It would be worth it to buy a Guide Book even used off the internet. You find all the honest costs of everything involved. But best of all, Goa is cheap! The food is good and cheap, and the drinks are cheap too! The prices for everything is listed in the restaurants and clubs so you can't get ripped off. The locals prefer to have foreign tourists as they are not so cheap in their spending. You will be well treated. Goa always had return tourists from the UK but this year because of the visa issue of having to apply in person, it has seen the numbers drop. The government is working to change that so it should happen soon. They have Briits that live in Goa for 6 months at a time every year. I see them catching buses like locals all the time. English is spoken a lot in Goa and in South India. From Goa you can find a package tour to the Golden Triangle to see the Taj Mahal, the Pink Palace by elephant etc.for 3 or 4 days everything included. Why not see one of the modern wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal while you are in India, you can then brag about it to friends. Good luck!
