OK - a few things: It's just the T, not the metro. Your best seafood options besides the incredibly packed, incredibly touristy and cliche Quincy Market are Luke's Lobster, Legal Sea Foods or the Union Oyster House (if you're situated downtown). Ben Franklin was a founding father, NOT a President. There are better aquariums and zoos in other cities tbh, if that saves you some time on your trip and you're torn on what to do. If you like museums, then the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is a must. The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) is worth it too if you have the time. Fenway Park during baseball season, even if you're not the biggest baseball fan. The Public Garden is technically a separate thing from Boston Common and is prettier. A swan boat ride is cheap and a must do if you're visiting in the summer. As others have said, a short trip outside of Boston on the Commuter Rail (or Ferry) to Salem is definitely worth it too.

Also known as Faneuil Hall fo us Bostonians! Don't forget to go to the north shore....Salem, Ma. also has a lot of history. Don't forget the house of seven gables and learn about the Salem Witch trials. There is so much to see depending on which direction you travel...even Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are breathtaking and filled with history. I miss my birthplace!!

As a native Bostonian I get a kick out of watching people go to all these places because they literally are places that only tourists go to. Never really thought of Boston as a tourist attraction just thought of it as home.

As a local, what would you recommend?
@Sandhill19882 жыл бұрын
@@laurablocker2807 I'm actually back in Boston right now. It's like someone took all of the stuffing out and left the shell. It is nothing but a tourist attraction now, there's very few if no real Bostonians left here anymore. But if you want to see some history I would say go to the public gardens ( Boston Common) check out the swan boats check out frog pond take a walk on the freedom trail and everything it has to offer and maybe go down to the waterfront to Rose wharf. I'm actually heartbroken after my experience today. Literally feel like a foreigner or a tourist in my own home City.

I just found you guys and think you're adorable. Such sweet and kind spirits😊 I grew up in Lexington Massachusetts which is the town Paul Revere galloped to to tell the Minutemen "The British Are Coming"! Lexington is where the "First Shot Was Heard Around The World" Lexington and Concord were pivotal in the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Both full of history and very picturesque. Lexington is a couple of towns away from Cambridge and Concord is our neighbor. You will love both of them. Patriots Day is a perfect time to visit. Enjoy the reenactment in the morning and the Boston Marathon in the afternoon!!! Enjoy! Come back soon¡!

Thanks so much! We stayed at Holiday Inn Boston Bunker Hill Area. It was good since it was a 10 minute walk from the metro, and cheaper than the hotels right in downtown. Great vid and love the format and content, but just FYI, the MBTA isn't safe. Since covid, the subway/light rail has not regained its commuters and ridership demographics show that it is mainly used by more poverty-prone/high-crime communities. On top of that, it is the leading transit system in the US for fatalities and injuries and has a poor maintenance record due to its age. At this time, they are considering tearing up huge lengths of track to completely replace because their typical maintenance isn't working. Large sections of the lines also have horribly slow track restrictions due to poor track conditions.

Driving in Boston is not a fun situation. The streets are old and curved, not laid out in blocks like most modern cities. If you were just doing the Boston tourist sites there's no need for a car. You might want to hire an Uber depending on where you're staying if you're not up to walking to dinner in another part of the city. Try to make sure you stay near a T station which is your best option but it closes down around 1:00 a.m.

Very informative being that I am heading there in a couple of months w my family. I am a native to NYC and never made it to Boston before. However, I must say Benjamin Franklin was never a president of the United States but the governor of Pennsylvania back in the day and yes he is on our $100 dollar bill.....
