In this instance, this shows that even masters of ki control can sometimes slip up and potentially let their guard down in these incidents. If you aren't always keeping your Ki barrier up, then you could possibly be grazed by something like metal or basic human objects.

Yeah, and tbh, he was more on guard here than in OG Dragon Ball. In OG Dragon Ball, he was just thinking "who is this goblin coming out of the beast" and stayed immobile till Bulma shot him. Super is weird because it actually started airing the anime at the same time the Super manga started being released, but the anime overtook the manga because they were getting the story told to them by Akira Toriyama in advance, so the manga and anime are actually quite different as Toriyama changed his mind about things about the story and fights AFTER the anime already covered the events. A big example that comes to mind is that Goku actually tries to use Hakai against fused Zamasu after he saw Beerus do it to his universe's Zamasu (this plays into Goku's fight IQ and has been a thing since the original Dragonball, he learned how to do the Kamehameha after watching Master Roshi do it ONCE), and it nearly worked, but Goku couldn't pull it off properly and the technique failed because he's not a destroyer god. With Super you kind of have to treat the anime and manga as 2 separate canon's because of how many changes there are, but by this point in the story I'm pretty sure the anime was still WAY ahead of the manga

Vegeta and Bulma must have decided to have another kid because of those events This episode also did a good job reminding you who and what Beerus is. He is still a ruthless God of destruction that has existed for eons. And he is more than willing to erase anyone even goku because the amount of time he has influenced his life is insignificant in comparison to how long he has been a destroyer. The same concept applies to Xeno as well. I mean they were playing planet chess so that speaks volumes
