I just returned from Seville, and it seems that there is a very politically uninterested youth there, in general. Not just there! In much of Europe, including here in Ireland, ordinary people seem so preoccupied with trying to eke a living, that politics hasn't reserved a single seat in the arena of their waking conscious experience when the day is done. The distraction of technology I see as soother for the unconscious fact that the majority of people are still the serfs of those who own those means, in the form of grand buildings on Velazquez or O'Donnell in the middle of a typical European city, or the investment bankers who work nearby. Wealth being seemingly inextricably linked to politics, tells the story of the 'haves' genius in convincing the vast majority of 'have nots' that they do not matter, and they believe it.

Yanis, Bernadette and Clare (in the sequence of your appearance, not an order of importance), thank you for the clarity of the presentation of your goals and aims. It was a real pleasure to listen to you and have the eyes opened to what is truly going on in the EU and the world by lifting the veil of what is falsely presented as the "truth" by the Main Stream Media.

I have no one to vote for in the EU election as I am swedish and and not a single one of the candidatas from Sweden demand that we must follow the agreement and duty as UN member state in the Genèva genocide convention. The duty that with every means available prevent and stop a ongoing genocide. I wish I could put my vote on Clare Daly but I am not a Irish citizen. So I wish you Irish voters to put your vote on her. We other people in the EU need her voice there. We need someone who call out that the emperor is naked! We need the countries in the Eu to follow theire agreement and duty in the UN Genèva Genocide Convention. We need Justice and international humanitarian law to rule over crimes against humanity. Human Ethics and Human Values are the most important to defend. Then we will also have a chans to work for our planet and enviroment.

The left are all pro immigration, pro asylum. Just like those leading the EU. Only they're just the champagne socialists. Many were in protest marches in the '60's. Well we've seen what you've done to Europe. As for Sweden. Most crime is carried out by those you've welcomed, especially rapes. Figures hushed up. They'll destroy and take over the Swedes as they are doing the Irish and others with small populations. Such people who spout 'human dignity' etc. don't care about native people's identity being trashed. Also a form of genocide. Ask many in Ireland who're sick of it and regularly tell us. The left cannot change. And the majority in Europe have had enough of it. As for Russia. Their success is down to being Nationalistic, and patriotic. Something the left don't understand.

She brought tears to my eyes. She knows how to speak! The first two speakers were good -- apart from their politically correct surrender to the anti-Russia Establishment -- and I was expecting Clare Daly to be on that same level. I expected her to be good. And I was wrong. She wasn't good: She was brilliant. From the first word, she set the place on fire. I guess this is what happens to us, when we witness infamy, day after day, infamy, monumental stupidity, cold-blooded inhumanity, and stratospheric arrogance. We gain the power to transfix the audience with our rage.

An exposee of the the political system and the proof that something has to be done. I love the idea Of the EU, but was shocked by von der leyen's support for the most despicable of countries, that is Israel. When I heard her declare it without apparently a meeting of all the EU countries I starting doubting how democratic the EU actually is. I trust Ireland as they have suffered England's dominance for centuries. Go girls!

Yee fucking Haaaa!!! What a rousing affair and I sigh a deep sigh of relief to hear it. Im sooo shocked at the silence from so many I expected better from. The genocide in Gaza has given me a reason to fight and to sacrifice what ever it takes to resist the neo liberal evil and ogligarchy. No passports or digital currency for me. I wish you all the best of luck and thank you for standing up against this incoming hell and the hell in Gaza, and the other genocides that happen to benefit the rich. Time to stand up and fight People. Respect! Yanis,Clare and Bernadette you are a glimmer of hope in the darkness. Power to you.

Great stuff but just one quick point in response to Yanis opening remarks: America is failing too. At the next election in November the contest will be between a seedy old rich man with dementia and another seedy old rich man with orange skin and a criminal record. It doesn't get much lower than that.

Passionate, incisive and inspiring eloquence: nevertheless, I still find it very painful to be reminded of the power these "lights in the darkness" are up against. Very hard to think anything different from the view that a world order (the "Global North") is collapsing and revealing the ugly foundations that it has been built upon. In the meantime, the "Global South" where I now live South Africa), is rising awkwardly out of the traumatized mess it has inherited from that same system after centuries of its colonialism, neo-colonialism and imperialism.

When you go from the critique of political economy to geo-politics, you do not end up in good places. Once we understand the state as the guarantor of private property and the 'free economy', then we understand that nation states simply guarantee the accumulation of capital. You do not need the reactionary category of 'imperialism' if you have a critical concept of capital. Nor you need to single out the EU or the USA or whatever 'geo-politcal' block: you need to focus on class and class struggle. From State Derivation to Open Marxism there is a ton of literature in that sense. And they focus on class struggle, not on EU vs Russia-China or whatever. Imperialism is to be considered a conservative concept full stop.

Collectivism and the creation of a commons is as much a right as any autonomy we as citizens forming a healthy and holistic society may have. The consensus decree that establishes the balance between personal autonomies and the common's limits, on those autonomies, are as much the right of the good faith actors involved who lean toward personal autonomy as is that of those who seek to facilitate safety within the society in exchange for some specific choices of autonomy. All governance will descend into oligarchy, plutocracy and fascism at rates that are determined by the quality and stability of its consensus seeking strategies, the tolerance of bad faith actors in its processes, its best practices policies and the documentation of data that goes into the making of its policy choices. They cannot be compared outside that framework in regard to speed of that descent. This means our policy choices would do well to encourage those who know to spend a portion of their time teaching, as the society's learning curve belongs to each and all of us.

Yanis, I agree with virtually everything you said Just one thing - & it's smtg you always do: while Communism certainly provides crucial insights in the analysis of what's wrong with today's financial capitalist system & can be a prescious tool in informing effective answers.... your addressing your audience with "comrades" - even if they might actually identify with that epithet - is a big turn off for those listeners, like myself, who, while agreeing with you, feel that the expression devalues the concepts you're expressing by adopting an exhausted, outdated & by now almost comical rhetorical device reminiscent of lefty student union debating society
