I find this rather hilarious, I selected build my own ford ranger lariat, with base options, nothing fancy, it's $46k. The one I bought (in 2019) has some additional options; STX Chrome Package, Towing Package, and a electronic locking differential. I paid $37k out the door. Literally $10k less than what you claim is the "budget" friendly Ranger. I think ford is gunna go out of business. Almost every car around me has a "market adjustment tax" making every car they sell not worth buying.

So at 61 years old, I've had a variety of trucks. My last "truck" was a 2019 Ranger XLT for 32K. It took a bit to get used to the porpoising feeling and I wasn't sure about it overall. And then....I got lost in the Talledega Nat'l forest... The Nav showed roads that were old logging roads from maybe the 1950's (?) to give you an idea of the bad conditions. That little truck didn't miss a beat ! HUGE ruts filled with water and mud, loose gravel winding turns and everything in between. A heavy truck would have sank ! I ended up averaging 23.5 mpg, pulled a camper everywhere and did a lot of remodeling with it too....All with ZERO issues. If I need another truck, I won't think twice about buying another Ranger. PS: I HAMMERED that little 2.3 liter like I stole it ! LOL

I love how “bigger masculine aggressive front end” is being justified as a reasonable alternative/upgrade on the new Ranger to “being able to see over the hood of your truck is feminine” on the old Ranger lmfao. There is no doubt that the new design looks much nicer, but that line of justification says everything about the state of modern truck design and marketing. Form over function and appearance over safety. I own a 2021 XLT and the ability to see over most of the hood and easily nose it in when parking is seriously underrated.

Hmmm, what is the payload on the actual truck in this video? ;) I am impressed with the interior upgrades. The powertrains are solid. I am underwhelmed with the exterior. I have never been a Canyon/Colorado fan until 2023. GM has hit a home run inside and out with the new Colorado/Canyon. The new Tacoma is looking amazing with the exterior, interior, and under the hood, including a hybrid option. Perhaps the Ranger exterior will look less pedestrian in person? The Frontier is a fine truck as well as the Ridgeline. I think Ford should have done more with the Ranger. Again, it is on my list, but??? Before adding a K&N intake and a FlowMaster 3” exhaust system, I was getting 19mpg with the cruise set on 75mph, I’m now getting 23mpg. It has custom 2 tone paint, (Silver over Red metallic), custom upholstery, (Red with black trim and stitching), LimeX spray in bed liner, tonneau cover, rear air shocks, running boards, dashboard cover, window vents and only 36K miles. With the new Ranger being a double cab, it has only a Useless 5’ bed. The Toyota Tacoma double cab is available with a 6’ bed and is more reliable than Ford. Hate the increased size logo. I don't want to be an unpaid billboard for the mfr. Ford has to cut this out! Sadly, the revised Ranger is no match for the revised Tacoma. Toyota has once again leaped forward by offering a hybrid option, and although it doesn't deliver much increase in MPG, it gives you tremendous torque. Ford wimped out on this revision; i guess they don't have any battery production capacity yet, so they have to stay with pure ICE. The Tacoma outsells Ranger 3:1 so far in 2023, it will probably stay that way, and I expect Toyota to have the biggest year in their history in 2024, while FORD stock is reeling from the realization of the investing public that Ford has agreed to transfer billions to the UAW, and will have so little left over to invest, that they will fall further behind. Memo to Ford Board of Directors: Bring back Hackett!! he got us the Bronco and the Maverick. Farley has given us leftovers warmed up !!

Had a 21 Ranger. Dumped it and got a 21 Taco. The new front bumper is fugly... and no that hood isn't any higher. The top of headlights are lower on the previous gen, that's it. And that rear emblem. . . Holy belt buckle Batman. Also, no 6' bed option or manual trans. Will say the Raptor is hot stuff, but beyond what I'd ever pay for a mid size, don't care it's offroadiness. One of the best showcasings of this vehicle to date. Great job. I have to say that I am not thrilled with the front end design, but the rest looks great. There is something to be said for a definitive front bumper for a masculine appearance on a truck. Hence the Ranger Raptor design. It seems super lazy not to delete buttons for feautures the vehcile doesn't have. That, along with the empty hole where the rear vents should be. I look forward to seeing what aftermarket parts come out for front end appearance.

I like many of the upgrades however just like GMC and Chevy Ford is not offering a long bed option on the Ranger. When I bought my Colorado that was checked off as the first prerequisite of my midsize truck purchase. Looks like I'm going to have to keep my truck in great condition if I want to keep that option. It looks like even Toyota is only offering the 6' bed in the extra cab now as well. All us crew cab long bed lovers only choice now is the Nissan Frontier.

I purchased the GMC Canyon 4 door over six years ago before the Ranger came out. I like my truck due to the longer bed to help me in my small yard mowing business. I have been watching that same style in the Ranger line, but now they will cut that model out!!!!!????? This problem is why I have been forced out of the new truck market many years ago. Prices too high and they don’t make the model I could afford. It’s not just a Ford problem.

Released as a "compact" truck, they're already getting longer, wider, taller. I expect in a couple more years, they'll be as big as a 2012 F-150, and that mandatory 10-speed transmission will be a 20-speed. Or a CVT.

Ford seemingly took 2 steps forward with the look of the Ranger (both inside and out), but also to 3 steps back with features and affordability. The Lariat is missing TONS of features that are found across its competition: no rear HVAC vents, no moon roof, no HUD, no ventilated seats, no hybrid option. All of that missing for a 15%+ increase in price from last year!
@Show-me-how-now10 ай бұрын
The fact that the Ranger doesn’t have rear vents, in 2024, is complete lunacy! I’m a Ford guy and I would buy the Chevy, GM or Toyota over this thing just because of that reason.
