So, to add to this story Leborio was named after Joe's father Lebo. He walked with a limp as he got older, and the action figure, when you wound it up would hobble back and forth. My grandfather would get a kick out of seeing his name on the boxes, but I'm not sure he liked the wobble. He also sold a million glow swords from that line. My brother and I are on the display box. I wish he had had more time in the industry with PAC. I also noticed darkalex1978 response to the glow sticks. He is correct. They only lasted several hours. My dad's goal was to sell the glow sticks as an after-market part and package them with the lords of light logo on them. As kids we had thousands of them in our home. Nice piece of him and the company. Thank you for putting it together. My dad truly loved the toy industry. He was an innovator as well as a creator of the toys. He would joke and say "I know if a toy is going to be a hit or not when I see my kids playing with them".

Man, Kenner missed a trick not using glowsticks for lightsabers in the various Star Wars lines over the years.
@megomego-likemaven46504 жыл бұрын
It would have been an issue of size. There wouldn't have been a way to make the glow sticks so small. I don't think they could have shrunk them down to fit the sabers in the 12" line even. But man oh man would your idea have been freaking amazing!

I've been trying to remember this toy for years. 84 or 85, I had the dragon and the bug and loved them. Even back then I felt they were unique toy.

I vaguely remember these. I remember seeing the commercials, but despite my excitement for the property my parents wouldn't purchase them for me because the glow sticks would need to be bought constantly.

I had the one with the saw arm. I couldn't remember these for the life of me. I thought they were micronauts but remembered the lightstick gimmick that Micronauts didn't have. Great review!

I can remember visiting my wife's aunt and popping by their local TRU in 2005 and they STILL had Interchangables on clearance. Should have bought them.

Awesome video, i’ve always found this line fascinating! I think your excellent pictorial evidence proves a suspicion i’ve had for a while, that Leborio & Equestrian were created using parts from early Tomy Zoids kits, particularly the Tyrannazoid (aka Garius) and Protozoid (aka Elepantus) from the Original American Release (“OAR”) era, 1982~1983 🤔 zoids.fandom.com/wiki/Category:OAR

I never heard of this line either. I do have a question, what ever happened to the props used in these toy commercials?
@BrickMantooth6 жыл бұрын
I wish I knew, I think Ray (the person who discovered that commercial) actually knows who made the outfits if I'm not mistaken.

Interesting, never heard of the line. Have to wonder if another challenge was getting sued by Thundarr for stealing his "Lords of Light!" catchphrase.

Highly doubtful unless Ruby Spears trademarked the name for toys.

@@BrickMantooth My remark was tongue un cheek. :) But if I had seen these toys on shelves in 1983 I certainly would have wondered if there was a Thundarr connection.
