Rear hatch removal and installation video for the 5th gen 4runner sound system upgrade. This is a DIY audio upgrade with hardware and speakers purchases though crutchfield.com. It was over all a very easy process. I went with rockford fosgate speakers and they really sound great for being with the stock head unit. The Toyota 4runner sound system upgrade is very simple, yes there are kits out there, but this DIY is for a eighth of the price.

Hey man great video.. i just haad a high-end Audio system installed we did my front doors with sound deadin tiles and sheets but i didn't do my tailgate now that i got my sub in that rear hatch door sounds so bad .. i am not using the speakers in there should i just pull those out and deadin the whole door ? if so do you think its ok to just cover some of these things on the door or should i only do the blue section that shows on your door and cover the holes where the speakers are in now

I dont think I really need to do it. But the more the better since you have a sub. Just be mindful that it is heavy so the struts may not like it.
