New bz4x had two major software updates, now real range of 450km, tested in the Netherlands, far, far better recharging results as well, lots of other updates. In a recent comparison test it outperformed the id4. It still has 10 years warranty, is far better build than the Tesla model Y. And in my opinion far better design. So from a below average bev it has become a bev to consider, it is a good car. Nothing wrong with.

This bZ4x feels like an "And" EV - you have the proper provisions for home charging and a primary EV that can be used for longer distance travel, and the Toyota is used for more local trips with an occasional fast charger visit not more than 2 per day. Think of it like a Leaf e+ SUV except it uses CCS instead of CHAdeMO.

Bjørn, I have to disagree with your comment re your baby and her space requirements decreasing over time. Its a mathematical fact that the luggage a girl needs as she grows up, increases at an exponential rate every single year.😎

Totaly agree. Till 10 you need pack huge stuffed Panda, Unicorn, tons of snaks and so on. But after 10, only mobile phone and small purse. in long journey barely takes eyes from screen, really suprised when we arrive, like "wow we here already? Im bored"

Its a good looking car - Toyota design is good the last 2 years - but as an EV its more a dev platform which is delivered to clients, its not competitive

Imagine paying bigger price than Tesla Model Y for a car that has 2x less HP, 30-50% bigger consumption, really outdated software, tons of scratch plastic inside and yet they still punish you by reducing your charging speed to 2009 leaf levels, because somehow you still want to drive this vehicle after all of its downsides!!! This is crazy!

The Lexus RZ450e is just as bad at charging performance as the BZ4X. It has the same battery and the Lexus has more power and therefore higher consumption. Otherwise the Lexus is better equipped than the BZ4X. But also more expensive

On a general note, EVs need to start displaying at least battery temperature, max charging speed accepted by the car, and reason of derate if applicable. If EVs are to become mainstream also outside of Norway, then the customer must be getting the required info to understand the car's behaviour. I mean seriously, how is any normal customer able to understand why his BZ4x is charging dog slow? Most people will think it's just broken. EV ownership needs to start moving away from KZbin and forums for such basic information. What on earth was Toyota thinking with their 24 hour limit?? Most people will find out about it on their yearly holiday, even the ones who charge only AC except for holidays get punished. This is a joke.

@@roarjorgensen1166 This is a good point! However, even in the case of a Tesla you can experience slow charging at a non-Tesla charger, even in that case it's good to know that the charger is the limiting factor, not the car. Some brands of chargers also do this, like Kempower.
