There's not that many POV videos on this car but with this video you posted, it really gave me a sense of how indestructible the GR Yaris is (w/ winter tyres + AWD + diffs) on any type of weather & terrain! @Stolas I live in Minnesota, got my license a week before a blizzard in a RWD 1995 bmw 525it wagon, on bald tires. I made sure very quickly to learn how to drive in snow. I would much rather have my front wheels not have any power and just do two jobs, steer and break.

Takes me back to my youth- with the first flakes of snow we’d be out in my signal orange 1.3 Mk2 escort ‘rallying’ the local Scottish backroads. Incredible fun even if the car took a ding or two. wish I still had that car.

Gt86 is a hell of a fun car on snow!!! Its like driving a 800hp car. Daily drove mine 2 winters without any problem. Survived massive snowstorm! Quick tips. Leave TCS on the highway, off everywhere else. Use skinny steel wheels. No studded tire. Build up your speed, every time you go out. Never drift to impress. Know your snow.

10:35 in many cars the heated mirrors are not activated with the mirror toggle, but by the rear window defrost button. They work in tandem. Then again, it may have been omitted on the GR.

If you don't want to use Lane assist, press and hold the Lane assist button on your wheel to cancel it. If you don't want to use adaptieve cruisecontrol, only normal cruise, press and hold the cruise control button. Mirror heating is combine with rear window heating ( if this one have it)

I think you're wrong Misha, the Toyota 86 isn't a lot lighter than the GR Yaris. The first generation 86 with its lightest variant was at the most 90kg or 7.5% lighter than the GR Yaris. 1190kg vs 1280kg. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_86

"proper BMW weather" 😂 Unfortunately in most of the UK we don't get decent amounts of snow anymore but on the odd occasion we do i do have to go and have a play, slow mo drifting is a lot of fun! I'm too tight to buy winter tyres (not a legal requirement here unlike Germany) so getting stuck is always a possibility with my E92.

I used a GT86 as a daily through winter in a very cold place (down to -30). No problem.
