Looking Good Brother! Defiantly has less piping than a stock side mount. And way to tackle the job with uncertain outcomes. I’ve installed a few aftermarket Front mounts and that looks like the best way to do it under the circumstances. Big Ups From Your Canuck Counterpart.

I'm sure there be less pipeing work if its front mount. But that being top mount theres gonna be some heat soak there from the motor.

Nice I own a 92 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and I would like to install intercooler as well since it doesn’t have factory one I didn’t know you could put the intercooler box in the hood area though!

you shouldnt without air flow. dont really need one at all running less than 12psi.

Lovely to see the progress and trouble shooting on this. Are you going to put in a hood scoop/vent of sorts to aid airflow over the IC?

Philip good morning. Yes sir I covered it in some later videos. I will put the Toyota Fortuner hood scoop. Not sure where your from but in this part of the world the Fortuner replaced the Hilux Surf or know in USA as 4runner. They still make the 4runner in the USA. Those intercoolers as well as on the Prado are on top as well. Its a coming project. I soon will return to the USA in Texas for a short stent and work on my Tundra as well as my First Gen original 4runner with 22re.

Hi there! Awesome project. I'm just wondering if you changed the ECU to an intercooled model one for this? I've wondered myself about doing what you've done, but have thought it may not work if I didn't swap my ECU for an intercooled one? Did you notice any considerable difference?

Question on turbos.. What would you put in a 3L 1kzte a ct20? I've searched abit on them and they mainly speak about them around 2L or 2.8L not a 3L? Would you pick a garret gt28r? or would you have to change heaps of stuff to fit

it is! I am in the USA right now. I been here about 8 weeks. Right before we left the Philippines I took it on some long mountain trekking. It did amazing. I have a 3 core radiator I am about to send to the Philippines and put on it. We all know those 2L 2.4 liters heat up and have head issues so it should definitely help it. I am hoping to get a scoop on the hood this trip from a fortuner or a prada . Thanks for your support

good to hear I’m in Vancouver I have the 2lte as well and I put a 3 core rad into it with an oversized thermostat and it makes a huge difference also took the fan apart and repacked it but Im working on the same set up as you right now with the intercooler and I’m just barely making it work I don’t have the body lift so I’ve cut the supports out from the hood to give it an extra inch or so and it just fits can’t wait to try it out for myself just waiting on a few more couplers rn . and hey love the video by the way really helped!

Didn’t you know you can buy an actual top mount kit? You used a front mount by accident? 😂

You think its a mistake but its not. It is super hot where we are. This already has lacking radiator. These motors have overheating n head issues. The ac condenser has been moved. Three core radiator added in place or 2 core and intercooler mounted above same as toyota does on its later models. Ne t trip back there the hood gets cut and a later model hilux hood scoop installed. The heat from turbo is dissipated quite a bit with it this way. I know you felt you shaming me but I know Exactly what I am doing.

Texas Filipino yes. But you can buy proper top mount intercooler kits that have way less plumbing then what yours does 😂
