I was working down at the Ploughing Championships yesterday and if i knew both yourself and the new Land Cruiser was there I'd have gone over to the Toyota stand. My dream machine that is. Unfortunately I'll probably be never able to afford one. The Hybrid engine would have been ideal and very disappointing its not coming to Ireland. Im amazed they're only going with the 2.8 petrol too. Great engine as it is but it must be a lot less frugal than the diesel equivalent. Anyway, looking forward to seeing your on road review

Looks very well, not the over styled, try hard look of the defender. Would be my lottery win car, and at that price I'll have to win it. I'll wait 3 years and maybe get a couple of grand off 😂 sure a high spec version of the soon to be previous version would still set you back near 100k. Some on donedeal over 80k and 2-3 years old. It's mad. Diesel isn't it? Think you said petrol on the review. Great video 👍

Was going to register my interest but looking at the years road tax for passenger model €2400 a year at the moment 🥺 I will sadly have to look elsewhere. I can buy it outright but refuse to give the government a ridiculous amount of money to waste on anything but the state of the roads. Great video and a super vehicle.

Crazy from Toyota to not offer the hybrid here, it’s the clear best option for our tax regime. This is a lovely new model, but it should be 60-80k for a passenger version, not 100k.

@@rapidrickthey have but they have a hybrid version available that would work well here, 2400€ tax alone a year makes this a silly buy for anyone when can get an X5 50e for similar money with 150€ road tax. It will be as it is now, 90% commercial only. Not even a 5 seat N1 by the looks of it.

Much better looking with the round headlamps from the lower version and the the top version, those square lamps look awful 😢 Nice opening rear glass on the boot too 🤔 Better boot area as it doesn’t have the yank battery in the boot and ramps sing the floor about three inches , can’t wait to try the diesel version myself 🙃

Not having the hidden rear windscreen wiper is a cheap cop out not to mention exposing the wiper to damage and weather. The rear camera is also cheap it should hide away from the rear spray (at this price) Rear light cluster too low and unfinished looking. Does it fit a euro pallet? (the J150 can't because the sides taper in. If Toyota Ireland think that the will retain the very comfortable massive market share they have in Ireland by pushing up the price by 15 to 20 thousand euro they are completely underestimating the Korean competition that now produces vehicles to rival the land cruiser. I'm my my 5th Landcruiser since 2000 (231) I would prefer it it wasn't my last.

What are the farmers driving these days ? Are they just sticking with their 1997 SWB Daihatsu Fourtraks, 2007 SWB Toyota Land Cruisers, 2000s SWB Mitsubishi Shoguns, 1990s Land Rover Defenders 90 ? Are farmers /builders actually going to buy LWB Toyota Land Cruisers 2.8 petrol auto for rugged use ?

Exactly. Builders and farmers aint gonna buy a petrol, and I can't see people switching from an X5 or Q7 to this car.

You’re aware that a LWB passenger in the old model was about €93,000? Both are big prices but the jump isn’t as big as other brands for a new model.

@@noelcahill6707 there's 2 previous model land cruisers on donedeal now, high spec (platinum/invincible), 2023 just under 100k, 2022 83k, and they'll sell for very close to those prices, they hold their value as well as any car in the road. No denying that. Demand for the new one will outstrip supply also, so it'll hold its value even more
